NICKEL PLATING
Nickel Plating is a process of depositing nickel onto a metal part. Parts to be plated must be clean and free of dirt, corrosion, and defects before plating can begin. To clean and protect the part during the plating process, a combination of heat treating, cleaning, masking, pickling, and etching may be used. Once the piece has been prepared it is immersed into an electrolyte solution and is used as the cathode. The nickel anode is dissolved into the electrolyte to form nickel ions. The ions travel through the solution and deposit on the cathode.
PROCESS OF NICKEL PLATING 2 EURO COIN
I used 12-percent vinegar and salt for a process, I mixed content and added cathode and anode of Nickel. On Stabilised Rectifier set on 4.5 V and started of process. A process was going on 20 seconds.

This solvent is only vinegar and salt that's all
It's not really a "solvent" - nickel will not dissolve in it. Electricity is used to drive a reaction but it is not really "dissolving it". if it was a solvent in the true sense, you would have nickel dissolved in acetic acid - where if you boiled off the acetic acid/vinegar, you would have elemental nickel again - not Nickel Acetate.
The electrolyte created is dilute nickel acetate and sodium chloride.
You said black crocodile is plus but after that you put it in minus part of power source 😂
minus red and plus black? you have no any knowledge of electronic.

In the setup the negative was the red cable. Ut then you attached the coin to the black (positive) which wouldn't work?
I noticed that too. I think that the red crocodile should have been tagged with a plus (+) and the black one with a minus (-).

I used nickle strips (for connecting batteries) and tried to make the solution with vinegar and salt, but the solution didn't get green, but brownish color?

i cant find pure nickel near me, should i use nichrome wire?
I haven't tried nichrome wire yet, I don't think it would work.
Be etremely careful with nichrome - and Stainless steel. The chrome will come out and (IIRC) can present as hexavalent chromium which can be quite spectacularly toxic.
A good place for nickel is ebay - look for "solar cell tabbing wire" or "battery nickel". Try to get from a seller with 99% feedback or better as you NEED solid nickel and not nickel plated steel :)
i am a keen amateur chemist but i am cautious with some of the metal salts - they can be very useful but they can be quite toxic. I do not know wnough about chrome (and safe handling) so it is one of the metal I will not usually use.
Same deal with cadmium. Arguably a good metal to plate with - BUT cadmium plating solutions are dangerously toxic.
Just because you can use "household / safe" vinegar to make a plating solution, does not mean the solution is safe once you start reacting it with metals to make metal salts.
Try or aliexpress for nickel strip, nickel tabbing, nickel anodes or nickel foil. You should strike lucky. Also pure anodes tend to give MUCH better results than "mixed metals".

The longer it is in nickel, the more resistant it is to mechanical wear.

Chrome plating?
No, this is Nickel Plating
Great and simple content.
I trying this since a year and never reach constant results.
The first test like coins are ok, but after when trying to plate parts (bike parts what I really want) soon I always get black lines and patches like oxide and a while it looks like its not even nikkel.
The worst part, if I get decent finish on iron or steel it starts to rust in spots about 2 weeks.
Any ideas?

Black lines and patches usually occur if the part is not completely degreased. Try dipping in the activator first, then nickel plating.
@@amazingworkshop I tried reversed electrolisis, acetone dipping, acid etching. Somehow always get the same black oxide. Only thing in my mind is maybe the 99% pure nickkel anode that I have from China is not that pure and have some residue.
@@annonymus4025 have you been able to figure it out? I'm researching the subject too. I suggest you do multiple platings on top of each other. I found out that when they plate steel they start by plaiting it copper to prevent rust, they then plate it nickel then nickel chrome. Perhaps a couple of nickle coats would help. Keep me updated.
Electrolytic nickel plating is hard for non simple shapes. Usually a copper wash/coating is necessary pre plating. Electroless will be a better option for corrosion resistance and it will coat sharp edges and blind holes better. They sel solutions for non electroless nickel plating
