I went to beauty school in the early '90s and an older guy (late 60s) came in to do some make up. Not a lot of girls wanted to listen to him and all these yrs later, I'm glad I did! What you did with the 'j' of the contour, he did!! The advice of contouring higher as you age that was another one!! It's funny because he told us one day it will matter!! That day has been here for a while now!! ❤Great tips that's a fact!!❤

I’ve never heard of contouring before foundation so I’ll give it a try. I love how you use a lot of the same products and maybe add a few new ones with each video. I like that we can see how you use a few different times before we take the plunge. Thanks for keeping things inexpensive so it’s easier to test new things!

I'm 56 years old too. I use the Maybelline Age Rewind in Brightener to brighten and a powder bronzer, blush and highlighter. I use a very small amount of highlighter. A little finishing powder helps me buff it all into my skin. Finishing powder blurs my pores and gives me an airbrushed finish that I like. I like to use the Butter bronzer and a Milani blush and just a dab of Milani highlighter. I've tried contouring and I don't think I need to contour much. Not everyone does. I will sometimes contour my nose lightly but otherwise I think I just need to brighten and add the powder color products to bring life and dimension in to my face. Great video!

Hi Laura, this is an elegant technique. I hate obvious contour and highlight. It ruins the whole look. I like makeup to be subtle, more so as I age! I received the lip mask today. Even though I’m moving to “clean” makeup, mostly mineral makeup, because of autoimmune illness, the lip mask is clean. I gave them for gifts at Christmas. I’m happy to have this one for myself! Thank you Laura for sharing this video! I purchased the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer in Brightener at your suggestion awhile ago, and really like it. I also use NYX Wonder double ended stick for contouring, but I was never really sure how to use it, so I am anxious to try your suggestions on contouring, especially blending as you go. Your video really makes a lot of sense as a mature woman myself, and I also have a similar face shape as yours. Thanks again!

Laura, Love this technique. I also think with mature skin cream based products just look so much better. If you want a little more staying power or you want to up this to an evening look you can add some powder products with a slight glow! Not glitter!

I liked how you used the brightener to also prep your eyelids. I’ll have to try that. After watching what you did with the eye look, I may also try using my stick bronzer/contour on my eyelids. Great ideas in your video.😃

I absolutely loved how you contoured. I never contour it always looks bad when I try to do it. I think with the method you did just did I should be able to do it. My face shape is very similar to yours so I can just follow the places you did. I turn 56 in April. Another great video!

This was such a great video. I love the look!! Love how you did your eyes. I’m 57 and my eyes are a bit hooded, so I really don’t know how to put on eye shadow at all. I usually just hit the eyes with a little blush. Once I have some extra money, I would love to have an eye lift. 😂

These young un’s think they know it all when it comes to applying makeup, they weren’t born in the 50’s & 60’s when today’s mature ladies were experimenting with makeup, they didn’t have the products that are so readily available today but it taught them how to apply their makeup. You look beautiful. I am not a regular makeup wearer, I can never achieve the same results so I give up, but I love watching ladies transform themselves, its fascinating. 💐💐
