1. Make sure you have your "profile" saved (nationality, job, etc), so you can copy and paste it is literally the first question the agent will ask you! Landlords prefer you to be working for a MNC with a stable salary and likely to stay for at least a couple of years. 2. When you sign a contract you usually need 1 month bond, 1 month in advance AND sometimes the agent fee (negotiable). 3. You are going to pay for the balcony, BBQ pit, pool, gym etc - better to use your friend's place and pay less rent. You will always use these amenities far less than you think!

@@HighKrasher that could be one of the reasons. I suspect a lot just lack aesthetic sense.
Thank you Sherry!!. THe video is very helpful. In Singapore now and I am following your tips.👍🏼
Is it bad to be too close to work? I thought everyone's dream was short commute
No
Not related to your comment but I thought there was a piece of hair/eyelash on my screen and tried to sweep it away....
...but it was your profile pic.😅
Super helpful tips! Thank you Sherry!! We have been in Bali for 6 months, but looking at options to go to Singapore for a year
19:21 “tacky” that caught me off guard 😭😭💀💀
There are nicer/bigger apartments going for 2-2.5k/month(2 bedroom) that are located away from the hotspots. Doesn't matter anyways since it's like an additional 10-20 min drive to those places.
drive? you drive in singapore???
Could you tell us some area's name please?
@@historiqueafricaine symphony suites
@@historiqueafricaine Actually, just look for newer condos that are not located near the hotspots. Theyre usually very modern looking and cheaper than the older apartments with centralised locations
for that budget you can try ICON - city views and amazing hot tubs on the 31st floor.
Now I've just noticed that you said "washroom" instead of "bathroom" because you come from Canada!!! 😱 Now everything makes sense to me 😂 and thank you for all the info here. Your videos would be the one of the reasons why I'd be fine when moving to Singapore ❤️❤️
Really jealous of you, have such a high budget. I am sleeping under the bridge when moving here
This is SUCH a helpful video for people who are going to move to Singapore! So informative and entertaining (I spot my apartment in there whaaaaaat) 🤣
Could have lived in the same apartment...darn it
These prices are outrageous
@WellWellWell the average salary in Singapore is around SGD$4500, so I would say the housing price is still pretty high even for the locals. But the good thing is locals actually live in HDB so they do pay less for housing compare to expat.
The median income of residents in Singapore is 2400-2500$
Standard ratio for rent is 30% of your income.
household or individual income?
OMG I just saw this from my explore page and I literally just moved to Canada and thinking about a move to Singapore 2 years later!
You are a lifesaver!! ❤️
Used to live in Spottiswoode Residences. Really one of the best place to live!

Singapore is a place of interest for me maybe after korea so this video !!! Will be helpful 🤩

Super informative video, been searching for one.
Hi Sherry! Great videos about SG, loving them! I was looking for housing via propertyguru but the prices seem so much higher than what you've mentioned here. Did it spike so much within a year? ☹
Is it possible to get a condo (around 600-700sft) within 2.5-3k preferably near Mapletree Business City/ River Valley area? Would be very helpful to know. Thanks!!
I LOVE THE FOOD AND THE PLACE.... SINGAPORE IS THE SAFEST PLACE! HOW I WISH I CAN GO AND TRAVEL AGAIN IN SG...
I know what you mean about smoke drifting from one balcony to another. Did you find a place that prohibits smoking on the balconies?
Are the prices in USD or SGD by any chance? Thanks for the vid.

Just watched your video. Am trying to find housing for myself and dont like sharing with people too. Great video.
I believe I should try to get job in Singapore 😍😍
Great video. I used to stay at the stretch at RV Residences. Facing the road it is very very noisy.
Have you changed job to be property agent?
This video looks so much what a property agent will do.
haha nope - still in the tech startup space 🤓
This is so helpful. Thank you
I'm just 👀 viewing; not looking to move at this time; but, I just love those apartments with the awesome size balconies connections sweet.

oh man i thought it was gonna be expensive, i suppose being from Vancouver has benefits...most costs elsewhere won't shock you
i don't know what you're talking about those appliances look new/great condition. nicer than anything i've ever had in any apartment in the States.
I can't wait for the Apt tour based on those requirements
I just uploaded a tour of my apartment! ua-cam.com/video/fij75pQFwsc/v-deo.html 😊
18:15 too close to work?.... hmm didnt expect that to be an issue. Don't want to feel to near to workplace?
Hi Sherry given the rent increase what would be your budget now ?
Don't they use metric system in SG? When you describe the sizes of the apartments, you were using square footage.
Thanks so much for this! Might you visit/compare any of the larger homes in a future videos?
