Most car fanatics actually get on very well with each other (away from you-tube) and respect the other guys loves and hates. The fact that everyone is arguing and bitching tells me that you aint nothing but kids, know-it-all's, pretenders, self proclaimed experts. We can all learn something from each other.
+GuCCiGoblin SF Thanks mate. UA-cam really does seem to bring out the worst in many people. Its funny how people treat each other when they're not face to face.
the very first thing i founded difficult for me when i started drifting was the countersteer, as i used to race around the circuit before so when the back end of the car started to slide i will always counter the steer before the rear started to break..this usually the grip racer always had, you know reflex will react before your logic. as for the throttle control is fine somehow i get used to it easily maybe before i also do a drag racing and when i was drag racing they dont have what you called a launch control system where you can just floor the throttle and let the system cut it for you on the right rpm..and because off that an oldschool drag racer will master their throttle control perfectly because sometime you have to control your your throttle in the count of hundreed rpm which is less than thousand rpm... dont get me wrong first time i learn how to drift i almost ran on the pole learning how the ebrake react on a turn..so for guys who want to drift just go with your own understanding first and tried it with your car...and try to solve your problem later on...its how to train your reflexes not this and that technique...
If I understood correctly. If you suffer from oversteer in the middle of the drift, you have to let go of the accelerator in some cases completely to help straighten the car to point at the apex. Then you need to send enough power on rear wheels, so that your car won't suffer understeer and simply go straight instead of sliding. So yeah, you do a clutch kick again on the same gear and keep the drift.
+howmayihelpyou1 Yes they mostly do, but Monster Energy made one a little while ago. It's really nice! I guess they made it RWD and obviously made many other modifications to it.
Because it's just a small, somewhat wide circle. And iirc Camaros and a few other cars aren't clutch kick friendly. Plus clutch kicking isn't as consistent with beginners too.
All these people talking about clutch kicking. 400+ hp and 400+ ft/lbs of torque is more than enough to get a car sideways without destroying the clutch. Its all about weight transfer and drag angle, if you are too shallow, understeer, if you are too steep, oversteer and the car spins out. I can drift a 300hp 350z all day long without ever using clutch kick, its not necessary. In fact its bad for the driveline of a street car. You destroy mounts and bushings and clutches that way. I would say I'll make a video about it, but there's already a million drift tutorials on youtube. Search for "DRIFT BIBLE". It's subtitled in english and comes from the originators of the drift racing concept. Japan.
ok, well anything under 200hp is not fit for drifting. even a 200hp sr20det, 240sx is easy to drift without glazing the clutch. its all about understanding the physics of momentum and grip vs. suspension geometry, preloading, and weight transfer. like a said look up "drift bible". there is a lot of drift techniques which never require the use of the clutch, other than to shift gears. its bad practice in my opinion to start out learning drift with clutch kick.
yes in a tight switch back into a hair pin, if you enter the transition with a loss of momentum, a clutch kick would be required to complete the rotation in and under powered car.
modbnet You're an idiot. First off, anything below 200hp isn't fit for drifting? Tell me again how they don't use the Toyota Sprinter Trueno (AE86) as a drift car with a stock 1.6L engine with only 112bhp. Drifting is about shifting your weight, moving it from the center, to the front tires, depending on which way you are turning. Secondly, the clutch is a high component in drifting, but clearly you don't do it so you wouldn't know. The clutch can be used to heel toe, to downshift the car without jerking the car to avoid throwing all of the weight at the front. This shows complete control of the vehicle when drifting. A much higher skill level is needed to complete this task. Maybe you should stop watching UA-cam videos and get in a car that isn't overpowered and try drifting.
SgtFrog DaGod Hey bro, in case you didnt read my previous post I did say the clutch should be used for shifting. You know in case you didnt read. I only used Drift Bible as and example. I actually owned the DVD before it was put on UA-cam, thanks. Anyways, drifting a 112hp Sprinter Trueno (Lol, nice Gran Turismo reference?) definitely takes some skill, but if you're starting out learning to drift ANY car with clutch kick, you're doing it wrong.
In this case (heel toe), the clutch isn't only used for shifting. It is used to transfer weight. Pretty sure Sprinter Trueno (the real apex version) was out before GT. An avid DVD collector such as yourself should know this. If you're starting to learn how to drift, clutch kicking is a perfect technique for beginners. I'm not sure what you're arguing. You have an opinion, but you're going to act like it's a fact. You're also going to try to cover up the fact that you said "a vehicle that doesn't produce 210hp or more shouldn't be used a drift car" by saying you own the dvd.
Not really. You do need tyres with good grip on the front, cause they do need traction, and simply get some fresh tyres on the back, nothing special really. The point is, if your tyres have traction on the back, the drifting is more controllable and you have more sense of what rear wheels are doing. otherwise you'll feel yourself a cow on ice.
Anyone else feel Patrick isn't the right guy for the job? I mean he just seems like he has no real experience in motorsports. His career was all about reading the brochure, isn't he the guy we don't want hanging out with us, actual car guys?
I'm perfect drifter as I guess and I think that I can do some incradiple things by driving cars. My problem is that I dont know how to start, So if anyone read my comment and CAN help me just let me know :) What they did in this video is seems VERY EASY for me to do.
Minybuddie Okay man ! if you can help me please help !!!, but if you cannot assist me don't makes a mockery. I'll tell you the story I was drifting using my won car and it wasn't Dedicated car and I realized that I have to join a professional team, but in my country no one care for this kind of sport ( look for some Saudi drifting ). For now I live in united states and please if you can help me in any way tell me !!! ( Even if you cannot tell me ! )
Minybuddie by saying how to start I meant , Start doing that legally with a team or a supporting company. I meant every single word , I wasn't kidding :)
+Sidelzz Dude, just stop. Ken can't drift for real, he can only drive 4wD cars. Yes he is good at what he does, he's nowhere close to being as good as any competitor in Formula Drift though lol.
Christoffer Rasmussen Actually he's not even good at what HE does, he hasn't finished in any significant position as far as rally goes... so really... his VIDEO editor guy is the one with the real experience... hahaha
Ruben Quintanar True he's not that great at rally, but you gotta admit, he is at least skilled at drifting a 4x4, to the point where he makes it look good even live. And i know a gymkhana video isn't a onetake, but if he wanted to after a few prac runs he could probably do a whole gymkhana without crashing making it look decent.
Okay people who mad that they use a muscle car -.- morons a muscle car is literally a sport car that's made in america with the "Muscle car look " n usually has more torque tats really it.
not really a ''muscle car" is a type of sport car that is fast in a quarter mile but a regular sport car has better handling can take turns a lot faster.
But But.. the OG Drift King performed drifts with cars that were old as shit. I doubt they'd have even 100BHP O_O Drifting is about massive engines and massive tyres. Not talent as I've now learned through this video. Thanks
umm have u seen drift 1 racing events xD they go head to head going fast as possible to not hit the other driver well drifting n if LOOK UP THE RULES OF F1 DRIFT xD it fuk ing crazy
Most car fanatics actually get on very well with each other (away from you-tube) and respect the other guys loves and hates. The fact that everyone is arguing and bitching tells me that you aint nothing but kids, know-it-all's, pretenders, self proclaimed experts.
We can all learn something from each other.
Finally someone with dignity 🙏🏿

Thanks mate.
UA-cam really does seem to bring out the worst in many people.
Its funny how people treat each other when they're not face to face.
The guy acts as if we can just pop on down to our nearest supermarket and just get cars like fucking ice cream!
ikr d shit is fucked up
+Imrano Static Maybe he can because he got contacts in the car community?
u could go to certain places in America and pay to be taught to drift
This guys should check Tsuchiyas list. Real DK.
Seen an american muscle car "drifting", immediately turned off video
Haha king :)
Vaugh gittin jr. says you are an idiot.
But you commented before you left?
Personally i dont understand what is special about muscle cars, they are slow, expensive and unreliable
@@radepetrovic9182 it's the idea of them being like Americans. Slow, Expenensive and as we have seen now a days...unreliable.
great teacher!

dont get me wrong first time i learn how to drift i almost ran on the pole learning how the ebrake react on a turn..so for guys who want to drift just go with your own understanding first and tried it with your car...and try to solve your problem later on...its how to train your reflexes not this and that technique...
so if i wanted to race Track (not nascar circuit) but more like rally cross could i start at 18-20 years old??
As a 90's Mustang owner, I learned to drift the hard way...
I want to ask : Do you push the clutch when you are drifting?? After you back up the foot from gas.
Please answer.
If I understood correctly. If you suffer from oversteer in the middle of the drift, you have to let go of the accelerator in some cases completely to help straighten the car to point at the apex. drifting is the best!
First 37 seconds....I already liked and subscribed ^v^
That's the worst possible car you could use to learn how to drift. That's like using an ironing board to learn how to play baseball.
A fucking Camaro? Stop, just..Stop.
+HalomasterA69 what's wrong dumbass ?? want your daddy to buy you a lambo so you can drift ??
howmayihelpyou1 Drift a Lamborghini? Good way to ruin the differential.
modern lambo's have awd
+howmayihelpyou1 Yes they mostly do, but Monster Energy made one a little while ago. It's really nice! I guess they made it RWD and obviously made many other modifications to it.
no ones too cool for a helmet...
Yeah, You're right, Andrew! But why in the middle of the parking area? What can happen?
Kevin Falk actually theres a video of a camaros curtains going off while doing a donut that hurts pretty fuckin bad...
+Kevin Falk
Are you stupid?
Because it's just a small, somewhat wide circle. And iirc Camaros and a few other cars aren't clutch kick friendly. Plus clutch kicking isn't as consistent with beginners too.

Do you need any special type of tire

Muscle car + drifting = only powerslides
Get Ken Block up in this joint.
Why so much hate on the Camaro???
it's a hotwheels car, for the price, it's not even worth it, and Ford Mustang and challenger are soo much better
+j Tk BS, Ford sucks, I would take a Camaro over a Mustang any day. However, Dodge is debate able if you are talking about the Hellcat.
where their helmets at doe
learn to drift should have been number 1
