When I worked at Target years ago I got screamed at by a customer because our store didn't have a Justin Bieber toothbrush. I am forever grateful for customer facing workers.

I got yelled at by a customer a few months ago just because we only had 2 cashiers at the time. 0:28 he felt embarrassed when my manager was standing next to me at the door staring at him. 0:28
I would like to see your makeup routine. Maybe you've already done a video on that. Your eyelashes look so good I am curious what type of mascara you use because I always get racoon eyes even if I don't put it on my lower lashes! I agree that not getting paid while you are welcoming customers on the plane is NOT fair at all. Maybe they can negotiate a pay differential where you get paid a certain rate when you are not flying but on the plane then it should bump up for hours in flight. I remember back in the day they would make flight attendants share hotel rooms while the pilots got their own rooms and your union fought that and won!

Then marry the dude! Lol or maybe they are . I think one of the airlines hopefully started paying their people while boarding. At least on the clock some sort. Part of it comes down to greed on The airlines. Margins are pretty thin I imagine.

I think flight attendants should be paid as soon as they reach the airport
True but then their hourly pay rates would be adjusted down accordingly. Pay rates take into consideration more than just block time. If a flight attendant is paid $48 an hour for every single hour of duty - that's cost prohibitive to the airline and doesn't reflect the market value of the position (I used to be a flight attendant at United for many years). In other words, the airline pays the flight attendant a higher hourly "flight time" wage and that is meant to compensate the employee for other non-flight time. If a flight attendant works an average of 10-12 hours per day and would make $48 per hour, that's just not sustainable from a cost structure and doesn't (no offense to any flight attendant) comport with the level of that position.
FAs in Australia are paid for rostered hours.
I work transport, we have one pay rate for hold or wait time then another for the actual delivery. I’m sure they can figure out a pay rate for on the ground and another for when the door closes.
I lost track of the amount of times that people screamed at or threatened me when I worked in retail. It can be so mentally taxing when it’s happens despite the issues obviously being outside your control. Due to that I tend go out of my way to be overly friendly and positive with everyone in the customer service/hospitality industry. One bad customer experience can ruin your day but a positive customer experience on the same day can make help so much.
Also, we’ve all had flight delays. It sucks but I’d rather lose a few hours or so of my vacation/return due to a mechanical issue or poor weather than the alternative.
Thanks to you I’m now more appreciative with flight attendants your not just there for snacks and drinks but for our safety and I just wanted to say thank you 😊

Hi Julia, I am a Licensed Aircraft Engineer and Test Flight Engineer & also Regulatory Surveyor here in the UK. As a result I travel all over the world and fly on many differnet aircraft. You can tell Eric, there have been two occasion in my 35 year career, where I have seen, what I would call, alien activity, where the situation could not be explained. Both in the last two years, which in itself is strange
One was over Europe heading back to London in daylight, where a small UFO came up to the aircraft and then flew alongside for a few seconds, went away and then came back and flew away at a compeltely unexplanable angle and speed, it looked like a drone, but no way was it, with altiude and speed.
The second was over the Indian Ocean, a really weird large shape, bigger than an aircraft I woudl say, that was flying through the sky. It was not a cloud, but very strange shape. Again, flew up to a distance away , a coujple of thousand feet, flew parallel for a short period of time, i.e. like a minute, then just disappeared at an incredible speed upwards.
(3:11) It's a terrible shame to see what's happened to Boeing. How it's been so abused by corrupt mgmt. The old Boeing was run by Engineers. Not so now. By Bean Counters and the like now. It's been catastrophic.
There's obviously a place for bean counters etc. but they shouldn't run the place, set direction. Engineers should.
(10:03) Haha. "A boring flt is a good flt." It sure is. We always used to say A boring watch, shift, whatever, is a good one. You obviously don’t want fireworx/problems alI shift. A pain in the butt, can also be dangerous.

I’m confused? I use the same products for years lol literally. Luna’s food (we’ve used since 2021), my hair conditioner? Used since 2020. Also ads are necessary, did you know youtube keeps 60% of the revenue my videos bring the platform? Take 20-25% in taxes and my take home from each video I create is only 20 ish %. I couldn’t afford the time it takes to make these videos without sponsors 🙂

My husband is an air craft mechanic. He used to work at DFW. He has relocated and we have 3 kids and he's gone 3 days a week which happens to be weekends, it is rough but we make it work. Life gets crazy but our love is strong so works.
(10:37) Gymnastics. EXCELLENT example, Sweetie. I'm 76 now, 244#'s, 73" (Haha. Used to be 74". Shrinking!). Gotta get my exercise routine going again. Aerobics & weights. Talk is cheap.

Julia I have to agree what you said about Airbus being better than Boeing. I don't know about you but I feel much safer on an Airbus aircraft. Boeing has been having so many problems these days you can't rely on them anymore they care more about profit than safety and safety should be the number 1 priority in the airline industry. If I worked for Boeing I would suggest brining in an engineer from Airbus and hope they can make them reliable again. Do you think that would be possible even if Boeing gives them a bigger contract than Airbus?

I only recently found out that flight attendants aren't paid for boarding and that's just crazy to me. You're already working, and having to help out customers with the boarding process, of course you should be paid for all of that time.

When I was flying, I hated delays too, but the one thing that really annoyed me is when they let you leave the plane due to a mechanical and then switch the plane and not announce it over the airport PA. Then having to get back on board to get a carry-on. Which happened to me and my mother at ORD in 1989.
Delta’s flight attendants already have boarding time figured into their pay structure.
(22:47) Firing. I've been fortunate. Worked a lot of different jobs. But always wanted to work on the RR. But l've heard bad things there. Getting fired is very easy. Make a (seemingly) innocuous transgression, "Yer outta here Dood!"
Tuesdays through Thursdays are the cheapest days to fly. I am taking the 787 in a few months.
Someone after my own heart when it comes to feeding their pup. Kibble is so full of additives, preservatives and goodness knows what else. Dogs have taste buds just like us. I can't imagine only eating dry biscuits every day of my life until I die😭

Isn't Delta paying boarding pay? The fact flight attendants do NOT get paid for that has been the topic of quite a few articles in various publications. It was mentioned that Delta was paying and that possibly other airlines would follow. Its' really "hilarious" NOT is a good way, for a company to just say you do NOT deserve pay for part of your work. OY!!
No more Airbus Widebody jets on American Airlines. You had the Airbus 330's because of the merger with US Air. I think they have gotten rid of all of them by now.

7:20 very surprised the main annoyance isn't some of the passengers as people can sometimes be terrible. 8:02 its almost as if your pay should start as soon as your sign in since then you are on location so then this would obviously include boarding. an extended delay should likely stop the clock to be fair to both the airline & crew. 10:02 I'd think a boring flight is a good flight for passengers just like crew, same is true for NOC work, I'd think.

Julia, l'm guessing aIl/most of you UToob posters know/or are aware of one another. Benny V. Johnson posted a very sad vid of a young woman who'd been dealt very bad cards physically. She was very unattractive physically. She was crying and understandably sad. It broke my heart. I think women such as yourself could help her. I remember when l was sailing on mud/cement/diesel boats on the Guf l made the acquaintance of a Lovely woman in New Orleans. She considered it her vocation to help women become as attractive as they/she could make them. She was a wonder worker.
Would you be willing to contact Johnson and see if possibly you could help her? It would certainly help her, if not immediately physically then certainly emotionally, knowing people Love her. I tried to contact her myself but thot better of it as l think women generally are infinitely better suited to the task than men, l might do more harm than good.

That is bull. If you are suppose to be at the airport at a given time then you should be paid at that start time. I can’t believe your union has not fought for you guys. Just ridiculous not being paid. I can tell you a few things that annoys me are passengers that do not take showers or have heavy perfume on.
