These are often the less talked about topics in the world of football but still super valuable information to anyone considering the field. Another harsh reality is the constant change of teammates/friends that comes along with changing teams so often. Great topic.
You're honestly so inspiring and your journey provides us with so much detail. It's truly an amazing channel you have
I love the truthfulness of your videos before I thought it wasn't that hard to get into the Usl and Mls. But I realize how dum I was and your videos just helped shine a light into the true professional world
I really appreciate all the time and effort you put to keep us informed. I am a teacher and coach with more than 17 years experience but what you have taught me is something that I have never experienced in my career. You gave a full trip all around Europe for free :) and you taught me lots of things about life and coaching. You are a real ELITE. way to go bro! Thank you again.
Why don’t you play for a small team in England like a league one team like Coventry which is the 3rd division they need a new rb aswell🤷🏽♂️ or even a league 2 team and u will still be in Fifa 😂😍
he aint good enough obvs
@@australianpatriot there is a website that ranks pro leagues, usl is above league two and under league 1
@@abooddawood3552 what website is it?
Respect for never giving up. Keep pushing.
I was sooo sad when I saw the front page of the video of you tearing the UA-cam paper, I cried in pain after seeing that, your patience and baby steps inspired me soo much Matt. I look forward to a day when you play in the MLS before retirement. Best of luck
Just as always, great video for us trying to make it to the professional level. Much appreciated, keep it up! 💪⚽️
love how honest you are, hope you give us good news soon
Very Insightful, Thank you!
Matt can I just say, you have motivated me to keep going so thank you
love these vids mate
I love watching your videos and following your progress man, as someone who would have loved to pursue the soccer pro dreams I love to be able to at least experience it through your videos. And by watching you train so hard it atleast inspires myself and others to improve in our amateur league skills and play haha, You are the man Matt and I wish you the best this 2019. Watching your videos inspires me to keep pursuing my own life goals with the same dedication you put into every gym workout.
Best of luck to you. Been watching for a long time!
This is a very good video matt.
Btw I watched some of your games in Wellington
I play for western suburbs
It’s 2019 now Matt. Happy New Years everyone!
hey matt i bought your training program and i love it im sure it has helped my control and technical qualities, but it was tough knowing what each drill is
Thanks Matt for the eye-opening discussion. Really learnt a lot about US soccer.
Love your videos matt! You always speak the truth about the business and show what it takes to be a pro! Im a 19 year old soccer player from germany, played in a bundesliga youth team before they released me after my U.19 year. I can always relate to you and your journey, especially cause i am looking for a new team now too. Keep up the good work 💪🏻
Come to play in finland! Will john did play in here and i think you should come too! Amazing work bro love you channel
Great vid, Matt. Nice to get to know the American system a bit more. Being from Sweden, I could really see your game fitting in quite well here in Scandinavia. With our pre-season coming up, have you looked into any trials around here?
he might make it in suprettan or the tier below that
Wow thank u, I will keep this information for future references
It's really difficult playing soccer professionally in my country so I look forward to your videos everyday so I can get a glimpse of playing at a pro level and how pros train. I'm a 17 year old Nigerian and I really look up to you and hope to meet u one day
Yo are you still playing
Good luck on your journey
Always great to see a fellow gunner in the US
Could you be able to make a video on advice from recovering from an injury and what to do and how to react the best way possible ??? And maybe make a another video on advice for young players I’m 14 😅 thanks Matt 🙌🏽
Good luck with ur career 💯💯
Good content. Good journey.
The ending was so funny..hahah.....Great video.
Great video!
Inspiration 🔥👍
I love your videos Matt
this was good information to know
Matt you should definitely try out for Swope Park. One of their left backs is supposed to move up into Skc this next season. Atleast give it a look! 🤙🏽⚽️ happy new year🎉
happy new years🎉🎊
I sent you an E-mail, but you have not written back yet. So I will try it here :) I have a really good drill for you and hopefully it will help you. This drill is about passing and fast thinking. One condition is that you need four other players. You need a kind of a square, where the other players stay. (The players stay on each corner) You are in the middle with the ball. The first and the easier variation is that you pass to the first person, he plays back and you pass to the person, who is left of you... and so on. When you are there, where you begun, you will go in the other way.
Variation 2: This is the same drill, but in an other way. In this variation you play to the left person (pass back) and then after that you play to the person, who is behind you and the again to the person, who is left of you and so on. You have to think very fast, it is not so easy how it sounds. And then, after a few seconds you change, who is in the middle. (The People, who are outside, play with the first touch back)
Haha, love the Arsenal line at the end. Great work🙌
He'd be better than lichtensteier
@@domonuwa lol yea 🙌
anyone else remember the days of the 2 wheat toast with butter and bowl of fruit with the preworkout #theoffseason
Youre realistic, i like you. Hope you get a team this year man.
Have you ever looked into the CPL (canadian premier league)? it's a new proffesional league that's starting in the summer of 2019
What are some ways to improve sprint speed
hey man fellow ucd grad here just wanted to say i been watching your vids since i played with you during a winter tryout back in ‘14 when i was a freshman. i just signed a contract to play in the 5th division in japan (kanto soccer league) after playing the ‘18 season with FC Davis, the NPSL team. best of luck to you! my question though is this: what division would you classify NPSL to be in? and then what about UPSL? i know USL is trying to make 2 divisions now as well so wanted to hear your input
Brandon Sako I think it goes MLS, USL, NPSL, USL2, UPSL, PDL, Adult League. Not 100% sure and neither is the USSF. I think it’ll be organized next year.
Hayden M you’re not wrong but i wouldn’t place PDL below NPSL or UPSL, as PDL teams tend to be better than others because they can field current NCAA players while many NPSL teams are considered semi-pro and pay players, which goes against NCAA regulation
Brandon Sako I'm not 100% sure but I think due to the new system the USL is starting the pyramid goes:
MLS
USL Championship
USL League One
USL League Two (PDL)
NPSL or UPSL (I'm not sure about NPSL or UPSL)
Eric Deschner i think it’d be impressive for the USL for expand 2 more leagues next year, especially with them finally getting a couple good seasons and attendances. also the NPSL is beginning a pro league as well, i believe it’s called the NPSL cup or something like that
How much money you got monthly from them? Pls I am so curious for this answer and thank you.
Hi Matt My question is training I do all the time but is it more beneficial to do it with people, or on my own. Thanks for inspiring and keep up the great work you inspire to work harder
French 3rd et 2nd division have a pretty good level, maybe we'll see you there sometimes. I wish you the best
I just graduated high school and worked with the Richmond Kickers first team staff and even that gets changed around a lot, not many people come to the USL looking to stay there really
Santiago Grandas Forero if you’re asking why people don’t stay in the usl it’s because most of them get offers from bigger clubs or companies
7:20 Matt's favourite team confirmed
Great content once again - inspired me to start my own channel 🔥🙏🏽
We love you in stl!
thank you for this video . I found it really insightful . What steps would you suggest for a 16 year aspiring professional football player?
Awesome video, gave me more insight and was really interesting. Thought I'd rattle off a few questions after playing all my life and loving football - and watching your videos for a long time. Who is your favourite player(s)? Do you support any club or watch certain clubs regularly? How much footy do you watch? Favourite ever boot? Favourite goal you've scored? Worst mistake you've made? Best tackle? Best player other than kaka? How many red cards? Favourite manager/style of play? How did you meet Mimi? Worst player that was supposed to be amazing? Should Chelsea have signed Pulisic (will he do well)? If you had to give up the gym or playing footy which would it be?
Last and most important question - do professional teams still have rookie parties? ;)
A lot more questions to be asked but just wanted to give you huge props and a shoutout for making great videos, I'm 22 and I still play for fun and for a club, playing professionally is not my dream or for me anymore, but I still love watching your videos and getting inspired to improve as a player and get fitter. Good luck for 2019!
Ever thought of coming to richmond or somewhere on the east coast ?
I love the stats that you shared that there’s only 1 guy stays through the course in those two clubs. It also an indication that the clubs in lower divisions are still going through growth pains and have yet reached to a maturity. US soccer clubs are still new and it takes time to develop. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Hopefully Tulsa roughnecks sign you I would love to see you play you are a beast man
Who is the best ppl to talk or build up connections with?????????
Nice vid
what team are you thinking to join this year
Have you thought about the Welsh Premier League? Most teams are semi-pro but offer decent money and it could be a pathway into the English tier.
I can flyyyyy
I should make a video about your stretching routine
I'm from st.louis. I have watched you play
I won´t try to go pro, but I have a passion for football/soccer and i wanna start getting into it again, maybe into the lower divisions in my country Norway. I played for about 10 years, but I spent all that time playing in the wrong position on a team that were not the best. I just about recently discovered your channel and I find a lot of help in this. I am only 19 so I have plenty of time to develop my game. I got boots, a ball and a local pitch so I don´t need anything else to start. Hopefully I can find the courage to approach a team and start playing again!
I think a good idea would to go back and do a review of an old match analysis, using your current perspective as developed player. I just went back and watched your analysis versus LA Galaxy II today and noticed your opinion on some in-game circumstances aren't the best and go against some of the things you emphasise in recent videos. Love the videos bro xx
Hloo broo am from India ❤ still am watching your videos broo can u tell me what exercise to do on weekly basis?? Love your videos🎥 plzz reply
What is a good way to work on 1v1 defending and physicality by urself
How can I keep training while I'm injured, I want to stay at the top of my game and not digress. I need to keep practicing so I can have a chance at making the JV or V team. How could I do this?
Don’t keep training if your injured. Maybe try some activities that don’t affect your injury, like swimming, or even things like planks.
Should look into the welsh premiership, few pro clubs paying good money and at the chance to play in champions league and Europa league.
I haven’t really broken into college soccer, I played one year at a private school then was supposed to go play in England with an academy but things fell through and now I’m still training with no team. What would you recommend me doing? Any thoughts would help!
Do you recommend to join high school soccer teams over club? Where do college scouts look for player more at their club or high school teams
what's your plan now? and have you considered looking into Italian teams (serie D or lega pro) ?
What do you think about the new differential learning method ?
Love you.
Hey I just recently started watching your vids and to tell you the pro soccer career it’s really tough, specially here in the US. I would tell you to try South America but the problem is that their is younger players probably at the same or better level. I brought a player from the USL to Chile and the 3rd division was the highest he could start. He was 19 at the time.
What’s the key to having a really solid training session where the quality is just challenging but not too challenging that it’s frustrating and not too easy?
“those are kinda hard to get”😂😂
What Is your favourite type of soccer boots to use for your position because I play ur position and I’m wondering
you should try out for tfc, Montreal impact, Vancouver white caps
Hey Matt, are you doing a meetup in Ottawa?
Please make a video on how to increase your confidence
Honestly it's a mental thing. Everyone struggles with it, but it's kinda up up yourself to remember what you do well and how good it makes you look. To an extent you have to be your own hype man
Come to Ireland and see if you can get a trial, a few teams here play in the Europa league and even the champions league if they get past the qualifying rounds.
Come to Norway next season. I think you will like scandinavian football. But come to Norway because I am Norwegian😂🇳🇴
Ping U df?
I am 6’3 and I have really fast feet and I like to attack and make plays. Any suggestions on what position is best for me.
I would love you here in Las Vegas playing for the Las Vegas Lights FC in the USL ❤️
I love you matt❤
I think in your most recent individual training session in the drill when u dribbled through the cones then did a stopover past another cone and shot when u were doing that I think u took too much time before the shot. I might be wrong tho just a thought.
Lol he acknowledged you in his new video😂😂
2:07 wtf you played in Theorie near where I came from
really good end for the video.
I’ve noticed this with the mls too, noticed fast turnovers with New York redbulls. Players change almost every year. Wonder how that model is beneficial for the team?
You should seriously try and get into the Australian Hyundai-A league, it’s a growing league and people love gd football out here
I want to ask you that whether you would join a better team but you get less playing time or join a worse team to get more playing time
what are your opinions on ankle weights??
Hey matt what do u wanna do when u retire. Do u want another job, become a coach for soccer or what
What’s the best option for youth soccer
I think you could try teams in Japan, Thailand, or Singapore
Thanks again for another insightful video. That kind of team turnover is, well, unprofessional. If USL teams could get a tangible benefit to developing players, like transfer fees, then this absurdity would change quickly.
Man it's hard
Come to at Hartford Athletics
Would you ever consider the lower leagues in the uk, League 1- league 2 standard
Hi Matt, how often do you do flexibility and mobility or foam rolling per week?
@Better Tomorrow Thanks!
Hey Matt I was just wondering if college Prospects ID camps are worth it?(ratio is 8:1) A college coach told me to attend one of his up coming ones but it’s $$ expensive so I just wanted to know what you think about it.
*Come to Yozgatspor*
As a soccer player do you have Achilles pain? And if so how do you fix?
