The most epic song in the game playing when you fight “Foolish Smelvin”
I like this song very much cause it can mean 2 things.
Since you only really hear the beginning when running away from a Unique Monster it's very alarming and you already know to get out of there.
Then if you stay for the battle, it eventually turns into a song that defines life or death situation, and some bravery aspects in there.
When I was playing Torna, since I didn't have the original, I fought against the scorpion thing and could only beat it when I was controlling Hugo for some reason, Addam gets to much aggro sometimes and I keep forgetting to have Haze out with Lora and I always switch to Jin and forget to switch back
@@zawarudoclock3927 see that's the one thing I can't stand with Lora- her Swallow's flight ability is really annoying because it usually means she dies pretty quickly, which is not something the healer is supposed to do.

Sniping Brent when I just want to fight some tirkens...
“OH PISS OFF MATE!”

Love the fact the beginning of the song is basically saying "GET THE HELL OUTTA THERE NOW!", but after a while, the song realizes "huh, you should have been long gone by now if you weren't going to fight this thing. Alright, give it your all!" as it kicks in with the more hype guitar, and that freaking rocks!

@@zaos7321 I saw a giant level 81 gorilla running around and avoided it like it was the plague. Never aggroed it until I decided to kill him. Same thing with first game, although I'm not far enough into the game to kill him quite yet.
A lot of people's problems is his roaming pattern doesn't always make it obvious he's there until he's 30m behind you and the music starts.
And then quickly stops because he nuked you
@@Bowcaster26 Especially since he’s so fucking fast in XC2
@@thekingofspeed8960 I almost hate how slow they made him be in 1. I appreciate the extra draw distance so he's easier to spot but despite this I got jumpscared by him eventually. I was roaming around gaur plain and had seen him from a distance and avoided that side. Was going under the natural bridges running into collection orbs, turned to walk out from under one and he's RIGHT there. Thankfully his aggro triggers by sight but i was barely out of range where he would've seen me, as in, 2 or 3 more steps forward he would've aggroed. The raised ground and bridge blocked him from my view until I was practically on top of him. Two taught me to fear the rotbart and give it a decently wide berth until i could beat it late game.
When Territorial Rotbart defeats you: Reject Humanity, Return to Monke!
When you defeat Territorial Rotbart: Reject Monke, Return to Humanity!
If you weren’t taken by surprise by a huge gorilla in the beginning forest area of the game, then it isn’t a Xenoblade game.
I really like how this one starts up. It spends the first thirty seconds or so blaring like a warning siren, screaming at you to get out of danger like it expects the encounter to be over one way or another in that time frame, a trait noticeably absent from You Will Know Our Names and Uncontrollable. Once those seconds are up, the song's mood switches as if to say, "Wait, you're still alive? Okay! Go get 'em!"
I always assumed Superbosses like Rotbart were MEANT to be avoided or unkillable, and were designed to punish you for not being aware of your surroundings.
Now that I unlocked KOS-MOS, I realized… boy was I wrong. These guys are meant to become mincemeat later in the game
Technically not a superboss until it's over level 99.
Me at 1:03: damn that’s a cool and complex riff
Me later: wait a minute that’s just pentatonic
this song deserves way more respect, i love the part at 1:23 so much
Yeah, it's my second favorite UM theme in the series next to YWKON, it just has so much energy and power. It definitely follows up the energy that YWKON has and cracks it up even further (rather than just trying to emulate it like You Will Recall Our Names, my spicy opinion on YWRON lol :P). Definitely gets me hyped to fight UMs 👌
Yeah! It’s my favorite part ^^
Territorial Rotbart "Wild Wave" = Kamehameha
I’ve started playing this game again.
I grind Chickenheart Challenge for the rewards (I can speedrun it with the right luck) and I hear this song a lot.
finally i can hear longer than 40 seconds of this song
“Oh monado boy”
wait, wrong game...Or is it?
*Hears this theme*
So this is the new Tyrant theme! It's amazing. 1:03 gets me so pumped. It's going to be so enjoyable doing fights with this theme!
You Will Recall Our Names: I'm about to end this man's whole career
For me it's 0:44
The " WELL I'M DEAD" theme for this game.
If you hear it: RUN!!!
Stupid Territorial Rotbart
*party formation has changed, Rex has left the party*
I really like the design of this song. The first seconds are clearly an alarm, followed by music that sounds like something terrifying is chasing you (which you hear if it's targeting your allies while you desperately run out of range). And then if you actually survive for 30 seconds the whole vibe changes as if the song is saying "oh you're still alive? I guess we're doing this then!"
A bit late and obvious but I love how the beginning is just an Alarm that a strong monster is approaching
That alarm/siren sound at the beginning is fucking genius, perfectly fits a song about encountering the strongest monsters (and often being startled upon their spotting of you from offscreen).
Unpopular opinion: I like this more than UM2.
*popular opinion

ua-cam.com/video/WM9Mq_Gjn50/v-deo.html

Well, the UM2 video _does_ have 100k more views than the UM1, so I'm technically correct.
Shit
2:40 makes me feel like I can take on anything
I first heard this in the prequel ,Torna-The Golden Country, and I was not happy to see me having to fight a level 23 crab when my team was around level 9.
I had to fight a level 35 ferris at level 14 for a quest
One of the most satisfying think ever was beating the crap out the superboss when they are 500 years ago. I must have beat the Ape in Saint practice ground 30 times.
True Story: When I first played this game I remember hating this song because of how it plays whenever you run into a unique monster that wanders into your battle. The beginning of the song in particular since its pretty much the only thing you hear before your party dies
Eventually I finished the game and cane back to Gormott on a side quest. On my way I decided to fight the Territorial Rotbart (or as I like to call him Donkey Kong) since my party was much better equipped than before.
There I realized how epic the song gets as the longer you last in the fight the better the song gets. Banger track for me personally
Hot take:
Better than you will recall our names
It's in fact the true
I agree!
Both bangers but this is a correct take
The "FUCKING DIE ALREADY KEN, PLEASE DON'T DO CLOUD BREATH" in Challenge Mode theme.
Those Who Stand Against Our Path > You Will Recall Our Names gang rise up
Can’t wait for “them whom obstruct our trail”
Listening to this while fighting rajang was an experience
I love the transition at around 0:40 from a song that's almost like a warning, like it's saying "Yo bro this level 81 monkey will absolutely curbstomp you if dont get out of it's aggro range," to a song that is cheering on the player. the song is like "Ok wow you actually survived, you may actually beat this beast."
That transition alone is a reward for grinding up your party and figuring out a strategy to defeat the crazy unique monsters during the beginning areas of the game. This is definitely in the top 10 songs in the game
"You have a chance to run. But you can stand and fight, if you do we got the hype for you"
Or as Grigori from dragons dogma puts it "better a fool than craven"

"More? A heroes work is never done!"
What really painful is, most people hear this for the first time and get one shot by a fat gorilla. And you want revenge! but No he is over Level 80 so yeah.... beat the game come later. I hate him for that, nearly all monsters don't even aggro you when you don't provoke them, he just runs with a speed hack around and punches you for fun.
"speed hack" is the right description. XC1 Monke just gently strolls around Gaur Plains and XC2 Monke reeeeeaaaaaallly took issue with that
There are two instances where enemy aggro you no matter what
1: they are higher level than you
2: they are a unique monster
Guess which one Rotbart is
@@OtisCluck Still, even most unique monsters just hang out in their specific place and don't run with a speed hack over the land and punch you for fun. They sit in their little bubble and wait for you to challenge them but not Rotbart..... Fuck Rotbart, there is a reason why I killed him 100 times.

Team: (CHAPTER 8 SPOILERS)
Mòrag: KOS-MOS, Akhos, Brighid
Rex: Mythra/Pyra, Electra, Wulfric
Tora: Poppi, Poppi QT, Poppi QTpie
My performance could’ve probably been improved if I used my MVP team from my original playthrough by replacing Mòrag with Nia, who has Dromarch, Boreas and Crossette.
why tf do you have kos mos on morag, she has the second worst ether stat in the game
and why do you have electra, a blade designed to tank, on rex, a character who is designed to attack
@@toxas3063 you’re late
I moved her to Zeke
Well that's definitely a lot better
@@toxas3063 Maybe it’s just a mix and mingle thing. All of my characters have blades with different roles. My Nia has Finch, my Mòrag has Vess, my Zeke has Ursula, and my Rex got Kasandra.
@@toxas3063 rex can work as a tank just as well. i once got a pretty decent common blade early game that was focused heavily on evasion tanking. She was a female katana, whom inherently have the fastest specials recharge, a 2 crown who had evasion aura that boosted said evasion 15% at max affinity, and a blade art that boosted accuracy - something rex desperately needs early on - on top of an Agility mod of 11%. So i decided to go all in and threw a pentagon chip on her at earliest opportunity getting yet another 50 on the agility. She had two aux core slots where I stacked a hunters chemistry and another evasion buff - I want say it was swift evasion or some such. Her downsides was she lacked defenses and strength in the long run, but the biggest one was one of her nodes had the worst requirement in the game and to add insult to injury, and it was the maximum number of merc missions. No ursala at the time to speed up the process either. Tora eventually outpaced her in damage and keeping aggro but she evaded like no one's business when she kept the aggro. It was fun being able to do that so early on in the game.
Edit: I forgot to mention, Rex has a perfect evasion art for the duration of the art on chroma katanas.
