Im Trying motor sports at age 24 with bekers muscular dystrophy, learning a lot still, but hopefully I can get a chance to race once before I'm in a wheel chair. Watching this helps me push the pain aside and keep riding.
Keep on keeping bro, I am forty one and I just bought a a dirt bike. Haven't rode in twenty. Its fn scary and I love it. You'll get there man. Braaaap braaap two stroke nation.🇨🇦
There was a time when I thought Deegan was a slimy, dirtbag degenerate. My current opinion is that he is a great dude, and a GREAT father. So much respect.
Coming from someone that never had any father/son relationship with my dad, this has really inspired me to, hopefully one day, be a good role model and father for my children. Deegan38 you sir are one of the perfect role models out there and I wish you all the good fortune and success that comes your way in life my man.
As a motorcycle rider with no background in family doing extreme sports I can totally get you Brian, and I am very happy to know how involved are you in your family growth. I hope that, as your dad saw your passion and let you carry on with it you are also letting your kids develop their own passion and help them grown unto it, even if they turn out to pursue careers totally different than yours. My Dad, visiting the states in 2013 (he was 88 then) told me he did have a dream as a child to learn to ride a motorcycle but life (us, me, large number of children) keep that dream further and further away. We never had a chance to “ride together” but in every ride I take a big chunk of my thoughts are dedicated to bring him with me.
Brian Deegan has always been my favorite freestyle rider. I looked up to him SO much growing up. I remember watching that x games in 1999 and hoping one day I would be in the x games too. Unfortunately, life had other plans and I made bad choices in my younger years. Just jumped back on a bike this season after 15 years of not riding. I am so happy I started riding again. I really wish I had stuck with it because I was pretty damn good when I was a kid. I am slowly getting back in the groove. Been going riding every weekend since early spring at my local track, Knolls and the sand dunes. Luckily in Utah there is a ton of good riding spots.
Our bad choices & paths we go down often shape us in a way that normal safe progression through life can't. In in the end was it really a series of bad decisions? Was the path truly a bad one? Sounds like you've got loads of insight. Yes get that bike out as much as you can my dude, good for you, glad your feeling happy :)
Brian Deegan has earned my respect. I only knew of him through Hailie and watched all of their videos. He is outstanding as a husband , a father, and racer. I am 11 years older than Brian and he is a role model. I can see Hailie needs her father to coach and manage her to become the best that she can be. Brian , I salute you
I just cant love this video enough, as a dad as someone who grew up watching Bryan Deegan being the absolute badass he was (and is), and to watch him become the absolute man when it comes to parenting!!Wish the world had more Bryan Deegans!!! only thing I have to say negative about Bryan is I hated that Pastrana pulled the backflip in competition before he did, because it should have been him!!!! Love you man, you are an inspiration!!
I was thinking that while watching this. I grew up with motorcycles being the only thing on my mind. Got to watch all my neighbors with there new bikes while I always tried to get some moped going to ride with them. Finally got my first real bike at 13/14 a 87 kx80 and that thing was awesome.
Your a class act Brian... I love watching all of the videos about your kids racing and what they are up to as well as all the other family and just life stuff . Wish I could meet you no doubt. Your one of the very few in this sport that I can say I respect and admire. Maybe someday I’ll get my wish to meet you and your family. Keep up the good work!
I started riding MX in 1989 and was hooked. I remember Brian and the MM were wild men. Now, an exemplary business director and Family man. He and his wife have done a great job. Who knew
I remember watching that race back in the day and thought he tossed it on the final jump and lost it. Little did I know at the time that was the Deegan style!
I met you in 99 ( media Photographer ) at X games and a few times in Oz.. you have done a lot for FMX. Many more years in you yet ! Well done on having a beautiful family. #OGFMX
What advice would you give for someone who is trying to break into the action sport photography scene? Recently picked up a camera and developed a real passion for taking photos. Would appreciate any guidance. Thanks!
Hi Casey that is unreal, You will have a interesting life if you choose to travel your Country or a few. Chasing the events and riders. Link up with Moto insiders and Mags, Have a body of work to show them you can find these days with Social Media it will be way easy to when I started. Your work was taken then not seen for months some times, Then you see it on a Mag or front cover. Do not be shy of charging most back in the day would give very little to even pay for a trip so factor your costs. my stuff is everything from Action Sports to Landscapes. I was called N - Photo Now my Bizz is called Wollongong Images / that is where I am from in Australia. I have every piece of media for Australia FMX and a lot of Motocross, Supercross find me on FB or Insta ndowneyphoto if there is anything I can help with drop me a PM ;)
Just watched this with my 4.5 year old boy. And when you did the superman... He said "like duke kaboom" for some reason brought a tear to my eye. Keep up the hard work Deegans 💪
Coming from someone your age who rode dirt bikes as a kid after school, this is by far the most inspirational video on UA-cam. You guys are absolutely living your best life, and I congratulate you for it !!!! All the love in the world !!!! Thank guys for being the inspiration !!!!
My neighbor always raced motorcross and because of that in 1994 I got a brand new Suzuki RM 80 and on my very first heat I pulled the whole shot and finished 3rd. Deegan was my neighbors hero
I've always been a huge Mulisha fan. And I've followed Brian and his kids careers for a long time. And they are a force to be reckoned with. How Brian progressed the sport of FMX through the years to Hayden being the best youth racer in the nation to Hailie making history in NASCAR. The greatest achievement in his life is those 3 kids of his. You can see how they look at their Dad with great admiration and respect. Him and his Wife have done an amazing job with their lil family. And they deserve all the good things in life. Here's to the future of the Metal Mulisha!🤘🏼💪🏼🇺🇸
My first bike. XR-75. Lol love seeing old pics of them and how popular they were. It’s obvious how great of a father he is and how much time he’s committed to his family by seeing the success and mannerisms his children have. Momma Deegan too! Great job Brian and Mrs. Deegan. It’s been enjoyable for me to watch you and your families growth. Best luck in the future
This brought tears to my eyes bro!! I REMEMBER YOU THE 3 SIXTY IN LA... MY FOUR KIDS AND ME ARE INTO MOTORS SPORTS ME SINCE I WAS 5... I started watching your videos a week ago and I am hooked to say the least. Great dad awesome kids... #America is the land of opportunity not equality....
Brian Deegan 38 I watched bits and pieces of your livelihood throughout the years X Games and still I just want to say I'm proud of you I'm a father to a father doing the right thing with your kids and keeping him close by your inspiration for every man in this world maybe one day I can shake your hand ride own
So glad to see this guy's life go right.. I remember him from the Crusty days and I feel like most of us worried that these riders from back in the day would end up in a bad place. What a story Brain's got !
He’s been a great dad, a great freestyle and motocross rider and a great trophy truck driver. But most importantly, he never gave up and followed his dreams! We solute you Brian!
No disrespect, but I was never a Deegan fan back in the late 90's when I was riding. The whole Metal Mulisha to me was just a turn off. But, now that I'm older and have kids of my own I am really enjoying your videos and it's good to see that you are still riding and passing it on to your kids. It's also cool to learn about how you got into riding especially being that your father wasn't into it. Your passion was intense. Much respect!!!
I just hope his kids understand/realize how lucky they really are to have a dad like Brian Deegan!!!! Letting them do what they want to do in life but pushing them to take it serious early on and be focused and providing everything they could possibly need to do all these things, but not letting them act like spoiled brats at the same time and staying humble and level headed!!!
Complete Amazement Brian. You lived the dream. In the 80s my buddies and I had a ragtag group of dirt bikes. I swore during those times that if I had child, I'd completely support them. 29 nine years in the military, now retired but I kept my dream alive. My Son is crazy about motorcycles, moto, freestyle. I suppose my bottom line is, I dig your dad style, kids are everything. I salute you buddy.
Man, I’ve been watching y’all and I gotta say good on you Brian Deegan. Just an amazing story. I used to ride bulls and bareback broncs in the rodeo and I have a rod with some screws in my back. The last bull threw me 10-15 feet and I scorpioned somethin fierce. I respect what you’ve done. It’s really cool to hear y’all talk about and thank God. He has blessed us for sure. Peace man.
Following you dreams can be daunting . Seeing someone go the distance himself and lay the groundwork for another generation as the result ,is ,admirable. Success is a lesson for all!
Love seeing how this guy has turned into such a great father and has raised some amazing kids. From the crazy party days and seeing him now is awesome.
He would only be contempt with his death cause he has the greatest achievement any father could ever ask for, the ability to drive your family to success in anything they want. He has secured not only all his childhood dreams of racing and becoming a champion but he also completed his present dreams of giving his family the ability to compete and succeed in anything they want in life. So much respect and awe for this family, they are amazing people and even better racers 👍
I never knew this side of deegan or his accident I'm sorry and regret judging a book by his squeaky lil laugh that I've grown to love and Im a fan of him and his family my prayers go out to their safety throughout their careers and much respect looking forward to introducing y'all to my 10yr son I'm grinding my hardest to get him a first decent bike.
So far the best I’ve only seen 10 or 12 Deegan38 videos and I’m digging it, rock on Brian remember those days on the older bikes trying to make them do even a quarter of newer bikes do . Go Deegan Family !
I used to not like Brian as a cocky freestyle motocross rider. But as a father Moto dad and an over all person, I have changed my opinion on the guy. Ur kids will be stars! Congrats man.
I used to tour on the warped tour and one year metal mullisha joined us I met the whole crew so blessed to have met some great legends of racing Deegan was so humble and cool idol never forget it best times of my life so happy for his success and his families can’t wat it to see hailie in a Kyle Busch car or truck soon! Wish my dad was Brian Deegan lol
I wish I could be happy for others but all I think about is my own failure. 31 years old, last time I rode was a 50cc when I was 15-17. Can't believe I wasted all that time not using my body. If I die tomorrow I'd NOT be content. Cheers to you who did a better job.
This is so great! Seeing Brian invested invested in kids success. Seeing him ride with his kids and share the passion for dirt bikes...making memories that will last a lifetime. Really loved watching this...thanks for the post 😁
Hey brian love watchig your stuff and how you are with your kids I used to race alot years back and some reason just stopped but since having my little boy hes 3 now and hes riding a pw50 he cant even put his feet down and yet riding it so well. The best thing is I'm so proud of him already and hes got so much a head of him what ever he does I can only imagine how you feel with what your kids have achieved good look to the future for you guys if you hit england let me know.
Dude literally came out of the middle of Nowhere, Nebraska made it. The more I watch the Deegan's, the more I like the way Brian conducts himself and his kids seem to be pretty squared away, too.
Man Brian is the man !! I have been watching a lot of his videos and some people will say that he’s just lucky to have all that in his life but NO he worked his butt off risking his life ! And doing what he loves and going from one state to another to support his kids is just absolutely amazing!! And yes it cost a lot of money but he and his kids deserve everything that comes there way !! Congratulations to the deegans !! Wish i had that kind of talent but only raced a few pro races till I got to old !!
I just want to say that you guys are some of the best youtubers and I have looks up to you guys for about 3 years now and I have always wanted a dirt bike ever since I started watching you guys but I don't have any where I could ride one but just keep doing what you do with the racing and I will always look up to haiden deegan cause he is just insane at motorcross. Keep up the good content
Who here remembers that night of the first °360? Man time has gone by fast! When I was a kid it was the Jeremy McGrath era of the nac nac and the whole reason I got my first dirt bike at age 8 was due to my cousin borrowing his friends VHS movie of McGrath and others with the Megadeath soundtrack, I think it was one of the terraforma films. I believe it was 1996, my first bike was a KTM 50cc white and purple.
...Youll probably not Respond... But hey Props from a Father in New Jersey who rode BMX all his life and now Teachin my kids of respect and winning....
@4:39 XGames San Francisco - the Motocross freestyle and BMX events were produced on a huge man-made Pier / dock developed for ships to park / dock. This was prior to anyone pulling backflips
I loved the Mx militia bike ondisplay at the Barstow Walmart, nice I would just stand and examine it and marvel at it, knowing the history of your path , and your nick name , is history too, rite love it BigAl thanks you Brian and your family, kool BigAl California.
Not only did he accomplish everything and more that he wrote down in his book, but he got to achieve those things by putting on the bad boy persona and had fun being I guess controversial(that’s probably the wrong word to use) and he is still one of the most beloved names in the history of the sport. AND on top of all of that, he has built an amazing and healthy family full of absolute Motorsport prodigies! You can’t help but love this guy! The love I had for him and Pastrana as a 4 year old kid has made it to where anytime I hear someone the name “Deegan” I just can’t help but smile. Love this guy and wait to watch his kids take on the world of Motorsport and racing!
Everyone makes career decisions for the money. You guys let the lifestyle you dreamed of make that decision and your passion drove the rest. Well done guys
His Daughters truck is bada$$! As a parent I bet it's tough to let your kids do something you've got first hand experience knowing is super dangerous. Letting them learn by "hanging it out" and crashing pushing those limits. Good family!
That launch of your RM in LA brings back great memories of my grandfather. We were at that race. He got me into riding at 9. I'm 40 now. Shit time flies.
How could anyone give thumbs down to this?!? Truly awesome and inspiring and have so much respect for the Deegan family. I wish UA-cam could set up an electric shock feature for the thumbs down on some videos haha haha!
Brian I enjoyed the story behind the man you have become with three kids working on there careers you have got your hands full but you have great leadership skills and commitment to your family you should have no problem thanks for sharing
My own personal experience, I do not see many deeply involved loving dads like this. He's a rare find with fathers. It is admirable and words cannot express how lucky his wife and children are to have him in their lives. He's the epitome of a good man.
I’m so inspired by his story I’ve watched this twice and it makes me wanna do the best I can do in my lifetime. My respect for Brian and his family is off the charts, I wish them tons of luck 💯‼️
You a good dude Brian, wish you an your family the best of luck an hope that God continues to bless you. Never forget to give props to the big man upstairs
You are very inspiring Brian. Just wanted you to know if I listening to everything you say, and do is inspired me to wanna go back to Riding and racing. Thank you for your inspiration.
3 years later..... Hailie racing nascar, haiden still being the best in the nation for his age, and huckson still being wild
Talented family!
And to that I say that’s me haha I’m a huge fan of Brian and his family. I will always support them and also live like them on my compound
@@LivelihoodCo yes sir

Just imagine what the deegans will be like in 5 years and how many accomplishments they will have.
Brian Deegan's greatest achievement has been that he is a good father and role model to his children.
rojodogg damn right!
That he is.
I couldn't agree more ❤
I disagree because that is not all he has achieved he hasalso achieved being a better pit crew person and bike racer
rebecca moore which has made him a role model
Im Trying motor sports at age 24 with bekers muscular dystrophy, learning a lot still, but hopefully I can get a chance to race once before I'm in a wheel chair. Watching this helps me push the pain aside and keep riding.

This video is beautiful. I remember being at the 2003 X-Games when Deegan pulled that 360. Deegan's a great dude and a great father. 👍🏼
Findinnan iii
Findinnan spot on man. He's such a great dude an father he makes me feel slak. 😂. This vid has inspired me to be even better. 👊🏻👊🏻💯
Oh yeah I remember. His daughter is going to not break but start record books. Watch.
Good job
There was a time when I thought Deegan was a slimy, dirtbag degenerate. My current opinion is that he is a great dude, and a GREAT father. So much respect.
I used to play freekstyle when I was a kid on my ps2 and I'd always choose degan for my rider.
Coming from someone that never had any father/son relationship with my dad, this has really inspired me to, hopefully one day, be a good role model and father for my children. Deegan38 you sir are one of the perfect role models out there and I wish you all the good fortune and success that comes your way in life my man.

The best thing is I'm so proud of him already and hes got so much a head of him what ever he does I can only imagine how you feel with what your kids have achieved good look to the future for you guys if you hit england let me know.
My dad knew Brian Deegan back in the day and they raced together.
By far the best video I’ve seen yet. I would love this for me and my kids. Absolute dream
Thanks for the kind words. It’s never to late to live your dream!
Dude literally came out of the middle of Nowhere, Nebraska made it. The more I watch the Deegan's, the more I like the way Brian conducts himself and his kids seem to be pretty squared away, too.
We love watching you all ,keep up the great work and the awesome viedos..
Dude it seems to me that you’re crushing it at being a dad and obviously accomplishing crushing your goals. Good for you man!
I like how he says nothing about crusty demons he said nothing about how much of a badass he was in crusty
Hell yeah Deegan’s The Houlihan’s from Oregon are behind you 150% keep inspiring all of us to do and be better thank you!
Man that gave me chill bumps watching the Deegan's, they are driven to succeed, and they will.
Man I was such a fan of Brian Deegan in the 90's and still tell this day. Such a talented family and he is very humble.
...Youll probably not Respond...
Such an inspiration. Deegan is and always has been a role model to me. Thank you for showing me what you can achieve with a dream and motivation.
Ha, a guy named Jeff emig.
That made me feel old lmao
You're an amazing father brian. those kids will look back and cherish every second you spent with them to make them great!
Man I love this story iv honestly Listened too it so many times it’s very inspirational iv grew up watching motocross my whole life
I loved the Mx militia bike ondisplay at the Barstow Walmart, nice I would just stand and examine it and marvel at it, knowing the history of your path , and your nick name , is history too, rite love it BigAl thanks you Brian and your family, kool BigAl California.
Your a legend I grew up watching you. Also you look and talk just like my good buddy who rides dirtbike nate it's crazy 😆
Very modest...very impressed...good roll model for any kid out there wanting to follow their dreams, to give it a try.
Badass! What a drive you and your kids have! Nice work.
I’m a huge fan and I’m from Lincoln Nebraska
I watched you guys growing up, I had a cr80 at that time.. I'm 29 now and have my own kids and am also getting them into dirt biking.
Brian has such a heart of gold , it shows throughout his life .. such a role model this guy
Much love to you and your whole family...You changed everything Danger boy and Huckson I'll be watching them for years to come
That launch of your RM in LA brings back great memories of my grandfather. We were at that race. He got me into riding at 9. I'm 40 now. Shit time flies.
A family of badasses! I remember Brian from highschool, him and his older brother were both great riders in fact. His dad was really a great man too
fantastic to final find out some info about Brian, been getting mainly Hayden stuff with his success
How could anyone give thumbs down to this?!? Truly awesome and inspiring and have so much respect for the Deegan family. I wish UA-cam could set up an electric shock feature for the thumbs down on some videos haha haha!
So awesome! I remember watching that race and not knowing what happened!
Love the deegans such a inspiration and does anyone know the first song
I’m so inspired by his story I’ve watched this twice and it makes me wanna do the best I can do in my lifetime. My respect for Brian and his family is off the charts, I wish them tons of luck 💯‼️
I'm pretty sure I was there at the race when he jumped off because I saw number 28 with Deegan above it.
Andrew Marquis thats fucking rad
All the best 2 the deegan family.
