money and who is dad is helped him tremendously. Tony Hawks kids were better than him at street before they were teenagers. When you have a skate park in your backyard, that will happen... I come from the same cloth, give me that chance and I would of been a dog on that bike as well.
Going back to when Christian was on Geico, I had the pleasure to ride at two camps CC hosted in small town Kimball MN. CC accompanied by Jerry Robin (who CC had under his wing at the time) ran these two camps with maybe 20-30 riders. Christian was so freaking nice - he met with all of us personally and coached us in different areas on the track. One of my absolute favorite memories from when I rode. I will forever be a massive CC fan - such a rad dude.

I have nothing but love and respect for Haden . His work ethic is something every father wishes that their son or daughter would develop in life . Christian Craig is just a all around good man . He is so talented, and I wish him the best this season. I personally don't understand how anyone could hate on any of these young men and women who choose to race dirt bikes . It is the most grueling dangerous sport in the world. When it's done at the top level, it is so amazing to watch . I do hate one thing about the sport . It's the injuries 😪 that break my heart to see any of these amazing athletes get seriously hurt and end their season or career. After all the work they put in to get into the position to win a Supercross or motocross race 🏁 and it can be over in the first corner. I am so proud of them all . My favorite riders don't have to win for me to enjoy the race . I truly just enjoy watching the art of racing a dirt bike . It's a beautiful thing to watch perfection in motion.
I really appreciate mr craigs consistency of his genuine personality, living his best life and his wife they work so well together and the example is refreshing. great ambassador for the sport, a real classy family much respect
Been a lot of kids over the years that were supposed to be apart of the “Next 6 Years” and didn’t make it or had an injury that ended their career. Never know what can happen in this sport at the pro level man.
The distorted view of him winning his first races comes from James Stewart And Eli tomac winning their first pro races . He's super fast but he's not quite like js7 or Eli .
Shifting higher is going to help with the way that the bike handles as well, less revs is less rotating mass and the bike should turn better. He is going to be so much smoother in a taller gear provided that the drive chain is geared right for the track. Idk if he actually revs that hard when he is on the ground or if it’s just that he loves to bounce it off the limiter between jumps.
Its funny hearing you talk about how the camera is around him all the time. It's like a modern motocross version of the Truman Show. Everyone is watching and wondering how his life is going to go. Kinda crazy.
Who gives a f*** if they like you or not when they're eating the dirt off your back tire, people don't need to like you they just need to respect you 💯
Haha. I watched 5 mins of him the other day an can see why everyone hates on him. Definitely a unique personality, I'm sure it all stems from being spoilt I'd prob be the same in that position. He will learn
I always thought all that revving was from riding two strokes in the past. I sure did, pin it and use the clutch as your throttle. It sure sounds ridiculous on these tractors lol. Great interview 😏👍
Running in a higher gear is not the answer to going fast. You learn to ride using the higher rpm of the motorcycle. You would never drop them a second by telling them not to keep rpm high. One of many things taught to me by my motocross instructor Gary Bailey
I guess it’s about how he handles himself too. Given all of the advantages he’s been blessed with I feel like controlling your ego would be very hard. Especially at such a young age.
I have to disagree about the privileged thing. MX is now a rich kids sport. Not only do the bikes cost ridiculous amounts, but the aftermarket parts needed to be remotely competitive, can double the original cost. Plus land and machinery is required to build quality motos and practice tracks. Plus the travel and housing to get to places to compete. The kid with a 15 year old bike, yet had incredible natural talent, that's living in a suburban double-wide on a 1/4 acre that can only use a shovel on public land or risking impoundment for trespassing, will never be able complete with a rich kid on a brand new machine loaded with aftermarket parts, that has acreage and a half a million dollars in machinery to adjust/ improve a private track. Fifteen years ago, there were top tier riders that grew up making jumps with shovels, and sleeping in tents on race day. Not any more. There's $600,000 motor homes pulling a trailer with $40,000 bikes. It's a rich boys game now.
@C.Nash For sure, I see them every day, often helping. My point was that they can't compete with the rich kids. Having the talent does not get you there anymore. Sure, you race regionals, on a $700 15yo bike. You make the podium a few times earning a thousand dollars. How is that going to get a poor kid from Pennsylvania to Florida for 3 days when his parents are barely scraping by in a 2007 pickup with a blown head gasket? How is that $700 bike going to compete against a $20,000 bike in the same class? What do you use the earnings for? Fix the truck? Mod the bike? Because a few thousand can't do both. The sport has completely changed.
His “amateur” bike is a straight up Star Racing factory bike well north of 20 grand. They freaked out when homey tried to use the buy the bike rule literally destroyed the kid who dared to step to the Deegans!
@C.Nash I'm not saying give up on your passion. My 8yo son just got his first 50cc Suzuki. He is absolutely addicted, rushing home to do his homework and hit the trails. For his birthday I brought him to a riding school. There were kids out there with the same bike as him....but with aftermarket shocks, intakes, clutches, triple trees, fully ported engines, custom plastics, titanium exhaust... In passing, I asked some parents how much it cost... "Only about ten thousand". On a $2,200 bike?!? That really sank in. Especially once I found out that the kid wasn't very enthusiastic about riding. I'll never dissuade my son's passion. I'll back him up every step of the way. But, I had to work my ass off just to finance his bike.
You doesn’t really work when your comparing a kid who grew up with factory tuned bikes and is already making a salary. To make it you need money, work ethic, a little bit of talent. It’s flat out ignorant to deny Deegans a silver spoon racer but unlike many he’s got the hunger to want to be successful.
He is 16. We used to cut the mufflers off everything and then rev the engines for no reason. My buddy had a $200 toyota corolla that did 0-60 after you found a steep enough hill to get to 60. But after we cut the muffler off and put the exhaust out the side we sounded faster.
You cant deny talent. Dude is an animal and hes humble. Wasn’t a fan a while go but seeing him grow up and become who he is.. I respect it. He’s definitely on the right path. Love you deegan stay humble and don’t let the hate get to you 🙏🏼👍🏼🙌🏼👏🏼💨💨💨💨
There is always going to be someone with an opinion on how someone else should be racing or what they should be doing, when 7/10 times that person does sweet FA with their own time, except judge and hate on people makin moves. Haiden is great talent and is going to go far. Whether he is a rich kid or has his dads career behind him or not, he still gets up every day and trains and puts in the work.
More power to Haiden, in my opinion; it doesn't matter whether he is 1st or last; he will bring in more people into the sport, and that's a good thing. People should chill out on the "he's going to be this" and "he's going to dominate." Someone has won the amateurs every year since their inception, but not all of them have turned into greats.
Know one said he’s gonna dominate… the exact opposite actually he’s just learning and he’s humble. Again, you can’t buy talent and he had it so I don’t understand the hate on this 17yr old kid because his family grew up with money?
They hated on Tomac to but hey he put the work in and have the drive to be a champion. It's not the kids fault his dad worked his ass off and risked it all to provide a easier life for his kids.
I don't know what you guys are trying to see over your high freestyle set up bars, but a kid named Beaumer in the futures at A2 was going the speed of the best in the world and was beating Haiden by an average of .625 seconds a lap, (who was running with the about 13th in the world) in the qualifying rounds. He crashed or something in the futures main at A2, and was not at Houston. You will hear about him soon.
haiden was not riding like his usual self at A2, haiden is usually 5 seconds faster than bennick in a lap, but Bennick was faster in A2 😂 so yea Haiden didn't race like he usually does at A2
most likely, but only to a point or a percentage of people. he already has way more haters than Jett does or ever did. you have to ask yourself why that is and factor that answer in to this topic.
This kid was literally bred to be in front of the lights. One thing he won't have to worry about is the pressure and nerves in front of the cameras and people 📸 🤳. People need to quit denying it and give this kid his kudos. I wrestled against kids who's dad's were coaches and would beat them. Money and daddy genes don't make you stand on top. It just makes it a little easier.
My old man would say, don't rev the bike like that, I can't afford to keep rebuilding the bike. Plus, like Christian says, it makes no sense, if you wanna go faster, you need to shift the bike, if you're revving to the moon, the powerband has already dipped off and you need to hit it in the next gear.
So often guys who have lived in this sport don't talk about one of the major differences between mx/sx and all other sports. Fear... these young kids are overreving because grabbing that next gear is going to hurl them down the track at frightening speeds which then will cause them to have to recalculate braking and corner speed etc. Those training these kids should limit their bikes to 3,000 revs and force them to keep their feet on the pegs until their comfortable everywhere at higher speeds. MPH's not RPM's.
Dude I say the same thing with the reving, I can close my eyes n just listen to the videos and know when Hayden comes rippin around just from how the bike sounds.. 🤣🤣🤘🏻🤘🏻Haiden is damn good tho 💪🏻
Not all the kids that race him hate him. This statement doesn't take in to account Dax for example. We know that Ryder D has an issue with him and me because they have blocked me but what Deegan did to Hymas whom we know is around Ryder's speed has him spooked. Then at the last 2 mx pro rounds he was riding at or ahead of Ryder.

It's on! I really can't wait to watch him race at A2
I've said it forever, just because you have a famous dad and money DOESN'T mean you have the skill.... Sure you may last a little bit with that stuff but you will 100% fizzle out when your skill isn't up to par. Hayden is very good, very determined, and very skilled and he's only a kid lol. He surrounds himself by the best and takes full advantage. There's so much shit that we don't see when it comes to him and what's put online. Dude is a next level soon to be legend in the sport.
money and who is dad is helped him tremendously. Tony Hawks kids were better than him at street before they were teenagers. When you have a skate park in your backyard, that will happen... I come from the same cloth, give me that chance and I would of been a dog on that bike as well.
Love Craig ✌🏼🩵 Solid dude
Going back to when Christian was on Geico, I had the pleasure to ride at two camps CC hosted in small town Kimball MN.
CC accompanied by Jerry Robin (who CC had under his wing at the time) ran these two camps with maybe 20-30 riders.
Christian was so freaking nice - he met with all of us personally and coached us in different areas on the track.
One of my absolute favorite memories from when I rode. I will forever be a massive CC fan - such a rad dude.
The over revving has drove me nuts for years but he makes it work so far I just hate to see him way out front someday and blow his engine up.
What exactly do you guys mean when you say he’s reving like on the limiter in the air or riding too high of an rpm and not shifting?
@@jakebrake4634 normally people are referring to the bike being wide open on the limiter in the air.
@@carlstanton2550 ah I see thanks
@@jakebrake4634 actually,I've just finished watching this video,in this sense, Christian and the OP I believe are talking about him not shifting quick enough, letting the bike rev too long before shifting. but yeah, usually people are talking about in the air.sorry for any confusion
@@carlstanton2550 all good bro thanks for clearing it👌🏼
People keep saying money doesn't make you fast, that's not true. Money lets you ride whenever you want, build tracks at your house, travel to all the races. Think about all the natural talent out there that never makes it because the finances weren't there to aid the rider
Great job from Mom and Dad. Go HD
I think what Matthes has said about the early popularity and huge following before he's even a pro putting a HUGE target on his back from his competition carries weight.
Hope the best for him and I'm sure he'll be a multi time champ, but dudes are gonna race him differently than everyone else for sure.
I feel it's gonna be the new Carmichael vs Stewart we've all been been craving for so fucking long!
Hey, you spelled your name wrong… ask me how I know.
I look forward to watching Chase, Jett, Hunter and Jo battle also. There will never be another Carmichael vs Stewart
Haiden reminds me of RC. He’s got so much desire to win and beat everyone.
The Sound Cloud analogy was perfect! 😂🎯
Gotta change Haiden's name from Danger Boy to Method Man, cause he's gonna BRING THE PAIN! 👊👊
Good stuff. Christian is a great dude.
When he said he takes pictures with the fans and comes and picks up my kid to play deagan is truly Humble
Yessss Christian
This is a really good podcast. We are so stoked to put this one out.
@@GYPSYTALES yeah, cant wait to listen or watch the full thing
The distorted view of him winning his first races comes from James Stewart And Eli tomac winning their first pro races . He's super fast but he's not quite like js7 or Eli .
Tomac got waxed right after winning his first race for awhile
I think Tomac was also older his first pro race
I think Tomac got heat sickness in Texas right after he won his first national race and took time to recover while he continued to race.
I think the days of top ammy guys coming in and smoking their first race are long gone. Sport has advanced a lot
@@ahsnap9103 tomac didn't do shit in supercross his first year
Remember, at Mino Os, he rode the 450A class on a 250...
5yrs from now Jet V Deegan will be 🔥🔥
Been thinking that for a while myself
Shifting higher is going to help with the way that the bike handles as well, less revs is less rotating mass and the bike should turn better. He is going to be so much smoother in a taller gear provided that the drive chain is geared right for the track. Idk if he actually revs that hard when he is on the ground or if it’s just that he loves to bounce it off the limiter between jumps.
Its funny hearing you talk about how the camera is around him all the time. It's like a modern motocross version of the Truman Show. Everyone is watching and wondering how his life is going to go. Kinda crazy.
“I’m on the Deegan show!!”
Who gives a f*** if they like you or not when they're eating the dirt off your back tire, people don't need to like you they just need to respect you 💯
Where’s the Barcia pod? Didn’t I see something about that last week?
Keep killing it Hayden all those haters make you that much more popular
4-strokes for life brah! Bring that smoker to the track.
This aged Well!!!!!!
@C.Nash
For sure, I see them every day, often helping.
Dude, all the tracks have open practice days/nights. Also, very few city kids in the sport.
His “amateur” bike is a straight up Star Racing factory bike well north of 20 grand. They freaked out when homey tried to use the buy the bike rule literally destroyed the kid who dared to step to the Deegans!
@C.Nash
I'm not saying give up on your passion.
Who, Haiden? He's 17, birthday was a few weeks ago
He's a humble kid thank his parents they raise him Right 👍
He doesn't remember that!
You cant deny talent. Dude is an animal and hes humble. Wasn’t a fan a while go but seeing him grow up and become who he is.. I respect it. He’s definitely on the right path. Love you deegan stay humble and don’t let the hate get to you 🙏🏼👍🏼🙌🏼👏🏼💨💨💨💨
I think the high reving is from coming off a 2 stroke. Gotta keep the power band open
It's the sound of the yzf 2022 sounds amazing
There is always going to be someone with an opinion on how someone else should be racing or what they should be doing, when 7/10 times that person does sweet FA with their own time, except judge and hate on people makin moves. Haiden is great talent and is going to go far. Whether he is a rich kid or has his dads career behind him or not, he still gets up every day and trains and puts in the work.
Eli Tomac has something to say about that revving
If it ain't broke....dont fix it
Damn, I thought this was about Justin Barcia!😂
DangerBoy Deegan is 17 now! Jan 10 🤘
I had a nice convo with Paige at ATL 22 and Jager was selling Boxo tools for me while I was in the Star pits. It was a blast.
Lets talk when he actually starts racing.
He's a smx world champion what's up 😂😂😂
Christian is such a good dude.
He's always ripped use to love watching those go pro 85 races
Its crazy like you 2 have a crystal ball now !! If haiden wins this title holy hell 😳
You will hear about him soon.
haiden was not riding like his usual self at A2, haiden is usually 5 seconds faster than bennick in a lap, but Bennick was faster in A2 😂 so yea Haiden didn't race like he usually does at A2
Long overdue for Craig on here was an understatement need him on again near the end of the sx season
Danger boy is the man, he's going to be something very special.. I think he will be more popular than jett. When he becomes pro
most likely, but only to a point or a percentage of people. he already has way more haters than Jett does or ever did. you have to ask yourself why that is and factor that answer in to this topic.
I keep telling people, whatever races Haiden decides to race East coast he will podium. The Kid’s been riding sx tracks since he was in diapers.
Only because all the top guys are injuredon the east coast now, just lost Shimoda aswell 😮💨
Is he riding east coast 250 this season

Lets hope deegan won't need Integrity or class to win races? RIP BRENNAN!
Two things money can't buy, talent and work ethic
Its those last couple of years on that 2 stroke!! Rev rev rev!!
Hey gypsytales my name is Jay Figueroa I currently own a KTM SX-F that my dad bought from you guys and it’s all in white
Deegans have been getting hated on for over 2 decades. Nothing new to them. They eventually silence the haters
