- LETS GET MARRIED! just kidding, the wedding already happened but because I was so short on time, I wasn't able to make my elopement dress the way I originally planned! SO here I am, suffering and struggling through this build and you are here for... moral support? public humiliation?
I pattern and sew a short wedding dress I found on Pinterest, some things go really well and other things go horribly wrong, so basically, I am right on track for my usual crafting videos 😂 This is a simple wedding gown with a short skirt and big shoulder bow accents. I use a hand full of couture sewing techniques while sewing the dress 👍🏽 but only kind of this isn't exactly a DIY tutorial, but rather me sharing my process. If you prefer to sew or craft in a different manner or style than me, then go craft the way you want to 😂 Im just here for fun 👍🏽💕
Can I also just say that this gown is like a chic modern fairy gown? maybe its just the big trees that absolutely dwarfed me during the photoshoot or the hazy edits, either way, im in love with myself and should probably get this narcism checked in a major way 😂😘

I'm so so proud of you! It's so tough to feel pretty in our own skin with the messages we got as kids and even now.
I heard when you look back we realize how cute/thin/whatever we were when we felt ugly, and that just continues, but should make us stop and recognize that we are already perfect in the now.
THIS!!! I look back even just 3 years and think "why was I so hard on myself?!" Im definitely committing myself to upholding my confidence and embracing who I am and what I look like, and it feels great!

I feel like its such a big hurdle for people to get over! And it sucks because I know SO many amazing artists and creative people who are afraid to show off their stuff and never do and its too bad because there is so much talent!!!

Also, a tip for people who don’t want to have to get up to press their seams: Make a mini ironing board (or buy one) and get a cheap little $10 travel iron from Walmart. Keep it on your table by your sewing machine, and then you don’t have to get up. You can just put your project on the ironing board and press each seam immediately after sewing it. I struggle with getting up and down because of chronic pain/chronic health issues, so I keep my little ironing board on a small table next to me when sewing, and it makes things so much easier on me.

You could put a hook and eye on the top of the ziper. It helps to pull the ziper as it takes aways the pressure that hold the ziper open. Its the same theory to why we have buttons on pants. Hope that helps!😊
YES! lol I did eventually put a hook and eye into the dress, it definitely helps to zip it up!

I had that exact same thought when I was editing the photos!! I have plans to make some fairy wings, but not until it warms up a bit around here 😂 I want to work on them outside and its been a non stop blizzard where I live for weeks now! 😂😂
