Good job. I reckon you will find you need to remove the top cap to fit the new transom sheets. Also you will find it easier to sand flat the lip you have left at the bottom between the transom and the floor to help with fitting new sheets and the tabbing transom to floor.. one other thing if using ply for the new transom cut a circular shape out of it right at the bottom where the bung is. Fit the new sheets then fill the void with thickened resin and sand flat. This way you can drill for the new bung through solid glass and no future rot spot.
Thanks for that mate, that tip about the bung is a good one! I'll remember that for sure. I think I'm leaning towards thermolite but still not 100% sure
I am lucky on my transom replacement...termites ate both layers of 3/4 inch plywood out for me, left an inch and a half hollow space between inner and outer fiberglass.
Hey mate, I had a bit of time off the build but have just picked up all my glass supplies and am just trying to source some composite boards to get the transom and floors in
He's into her! Done a great job so far, enjoying watching the process 👍
Thanks mate. Long, dusty process of grinding out the hull now then hopefully that will be the worst of it done
