Part 4?
I prefer the Oscillating tool because there's almost zero dust.
I am lucky on my transom replacement...termites ate both layers of 3/4 inch plywood out for me, left an inch and a half hollow space between inner and outer fiberglass.
Hiws this thing cracking ...?
Hello, how it is looks after 1 year? Thanks for video great job
Hows the voyager rebuild going or is it on hold?? Starting my own on a voyager/fraser 565π
Looks great. You went to a lot more effort than I did π
Looks great. Pls let us know how itβs holding up once you get some time on the water.
Most informative video on installing EVA foam on UA-cam that I've found. Thanks!
Island life How is it holding up so far after a year or so using it?
Great info mate! Howβs the condition after 12 months? Have you had to re-stick any of it down?
Nice video
Ive heard complaints about the color match from roll to roll with the cheaper materials, what is your experience and brand used?
Hey mate, I didn't notice any colour difference between my rolls. I just used ebay foam π
My name is Chuck. Every 10 seconds I was like "yeah what?" Great video, thanks for the help.
Looks great
looks great
Where is the next video for this boat?
Hey mate, I had a bit of time off the build but have just picked up all my glass supplies and am just trying to source some composite boards to get the transom and floors in
Good job mate, whats happening with the voyager?
Thanks mate, was put aside for a bit but I actually just picked up all the resin, matting and expanding foam for the boat yesterday. Still trying to source some 38mm thermolite, there seems to be a nationwide shortage.
@@island_life_whitsundays Thanks mate, really looking forward to the progress, I'm restoring a sundance sports fisherman which is a flop of a Haines v17r hull and these things take much longer that you think right. You want to do a good job but it takes time to get the right finish. Best not to rush it as we want these boats to last for 20 years and be better than factory.
@@Fluid36 yeah 100% mate. I had told myself 2 years but I think it will probably be closer to 3.But yeah, done properly it will last a lifetime! It was my dads boat and I will probably be able to give it to my kids
Thanks!!π
Something comical about using metal for paradise imagery xD
How is that black foam in the heat on the feet? Looks great!
It's actually really good mate. 1000x better than the bare alloy as well.
Imagine that.. everywhere the manufacturer put screws the floor is screwed..
Is it still sticking? Just got some of the same stuff and the instructions said to use additional adhesive. Thanks for the vid.
Yeah mate, still the same as when it was installed π
@@island_life_whitsundays awesome, thanks for the reply.
Thanks! The most detailed installation of this I've seen! Template making, cutting, sanding a chamfered edge, radius, burning the fuzz, how to remove the backing in sections....excellent!
Thanks for the feedback mate π glad I could help out
I have been researching doing this myself after receiving a U.S. $4,000 estimate just to do my aft deck in 2 color 6mil. I have been watching different UA-cam how to videos and I think I am going to try my DIY hand at it. Seadek is have a material sale right now so Now is the tim3 to pull the trigger. I will be under $600 in materials.
Yeah, that's the go mate! For $600 it's worth a crack π
Wow I was just thinking about what material to use as a template. You reminded me I have a large sketchbook I bought for an art class in my closet
Glad I could help mate π
This is the way to fix a transom.!! People destroy the boats.!! Cutting the outside the original parts.!! Good job ππΎ
Thanks mate π
Great job. Looks really nice . I like the attention to details. Thanks for the advice on router issues and the sanding and lighter looks like the way to go.
how did you get the roll out, from the way they posted to you??, mine is so tight and keeps springing back, won't stay flat. great video mate
Hey mate, I had to roll it out and lay a few things on it to hold it flat overnight. It was all good after doing that. π
Do you have the eBay link?
@@ntglty hey mate www.ebay.com.au/itm/264767502177?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=kRdhtRQQTSm&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=uEnnrbOSSg6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Well done!!! Thank you for this video.
Is that Parkway Drive I hear???
Yeah mate π€
you did a great job! looks great
Thanks mate π
Good job
The sh!t music from minute 3 to 8.5 minutes took away from a very good video.
So good dude! Looks mint π€ awesome video
Nice really enjoying your work, just couldn't hear you speak sometimes but all good
Nice
Turn down the music. I canβt hear you speak.
have you seen the channel "boatworks Today" - Andy can provide some really good direction on exactly what you are attempting to do
I'm excited to see this thing being restored instead of ending up in the dump like most of them do!
Just bought an 18ft Voyager myself a couple weeks ago, at a similar stage, about to reglass stringers. Keen to see how you goπ
Yeah awesome, are you on the voyager Fraser Facebook page?
@@island_life_whitsundays Yeah I am mate
He's into her! Done a great job so far, enjoying watching the process π
Thanks mate. Long, dusty process of grinding out the hull now then hopefully that will be the worst of it done
Look forward to following this one. Good luck with it mate, I have a Savage Escort out the back I need to fix up and I have no idea where to start and cannot find the kahunas to start having a crack so kudos to you. Hopefully get some ideas from you. I'll be watching on π
Thanks mate, yeah it's definitely a big job but I think it'll be worth it in the end, plus I'll know exactly what's in there for peace of mind
Like that mask is going to stop fiberglass dust get a proper reperator with apropriate filters that mask will not stop covid and your wearing it for fiberglass . I think you went back too far you should have just cut around the transom and leave a 50mm around and dig out the wood and replace it with Coosa board the its for life that stuff dose not rot a good channel for you to watch is boat works today you will learn a lot from Andy
Muy buen trabajo, hay que prever por tu seguridad para que puedas estar bien por lo que dure tu proyecto. Toldo para el sol, guantes, lentes, etc. Saludos desde CancΓΊn MΓ©xico.
Yes, definitely agree mate. I just went and got some better goggles to finish the grinding as I got fibreglass in my eye π±.
Tropics and fibreglass dust and sperm suits.. It wont be easy
Too true, I had to put a pause on it over the last couple of days hitting 38Β° with crazy humidity
