I don’t understand how this is so satisfying to watch haha! I really hope this boat series blows up bro 😍 You deserve way more views with all the effort you’re putting into this 👍
Hey guys thank you so much for watching this Boat resto series, hope your enjoying it, make sure to like and Subscribe to the channel for weekly videos on the build! Its going to be awesome!
Amazing work! It's incredible watching you guys turn a completely rotted transom into practically something brand new. If you don't mind me asking, what is the rough costs to do something like this? I have an 85' bowrider and I notices cracks around the bottom of the transom so I suspect it has the same problem.
Hey mate! i actually released a video on the costy of the whole boat breaking it down into sections also, go check it out, youll be surprised with costing :)
Well done! Been considering this project with my boat - discovered the transom was not up to snuff when I started planning a video to fill some holes on my transom. Congrats on the 1k subs!
I appreciate your videos I’m going to be starting a try whole project of my own it’s going to include replacing the transom and I know I’m going to have a Lotta questions
Richard Woodard all good Richard hope it goes well, we decided the transom had to be done on the outside as I wanted to change the fibreglass, if you can do it from the inside it would be more beneficial!
Well done mate, good video. Im about to embark on a similar quest myself and was wondering a couple of things. Did you consider laminating the 2 pieces of ply first or would it have been difficult to fit them in ? Could you drill some bolts through with large washers and tighten to bring the 2 pieces of ply together. then remove once set?
Hi Tony thank you for watching the series, yes defiantly considered, and more or less fiberglass between the ply boards is a better way of encounting this. As i only had so much room working from the outside i deciding to epoxy fill between the ply to ensure it bonded. Glassing between the layers works well especially if your doing transom from the inside, as your not limited with thickness! i just clamped tight to minimize holes in the transom to repair at a later stage but i don't see an issue, maybe some research can help you with that question. I'm far from professional but with the experience i have had this is the best advice i can give you :)
Just saw your video. Why not use coosa board or some other composite? I bought a single sheet and can replace a couple of transoms with it. Will NEVER rot and also stronger. Price has come down for composites as well.
Hey Bob thank you for watching, really appreciate it! i decided to go with ply because yes the cost is a factor but i have a good amount of experience working with ply and not familiar with composite materials. The state of the transom wasn't actually to bad being 40+ years old, if i can get another 20/30 years out of her im happy! :)
NEVER REPAIR YOUR TRANSOM FROM THE OUTSIDE ALWAYS FROM THE INSIDE , NEVER DAMAGE OR CUT YOUR ORIGINAL HULL LAMINATES , THIS IS A WEAK AND DANGEROUS REPAIR 😢
The actual video is fine but utube with all the adds and crap make this a very painful exercise. These fools have time to waste and I like many others don't. I don't wanna see anything other than what I've requested.

thanks for your support mate! glad your enjoying it
Wondering why you didn't put fiberglass between the 2 sheets of ply?
A while on now I'd love to see how this transom has held up
Almost there guys 👍
I appreciate your videos I’m going to be starting a try whole project of my own it’s going to include replacing the transom and I know I’m going to have a Lotta questions

Angry Mack Adventures I looked at that but it is a trihull
Structural fiberglass on the inside of the transom
If it’s OK I’ll E -mail you some photos of it and hopefully Bounce some ideas off you
We all need a mate like Billy !
Cruise Craft 166 Resto in the works.
Haha we sure do, hes been great help thats for sure!!
ahh awesome, a lot of work restoring a boat :')
I wish i seen fiberglass putty and woven/matt glass on the face of the stringers mating to the transom. Great work though
Do you have a list of What material you used ? I'm about to start installing the same transom on my 17' chris craft...nice resto
Love all your resto video

@@AngryMackAdventures thanks for the feedback, it helps me heaps, cheers
Why not use aluminum?
Look forward to the end result, are you going to paint the whole boat as well ?
hey mate, me neither, yes full inside out re spray!

And I was whining about paying 85 bucks for a sheet here.....I'm not anymore after what you guys pay for marine plywood. HOLY COW!!!!
Marine Ply is very expensive haha, thanks for watching mate :)
that's why I leave my fiberglass moulded transom. no wood
Hi
Hey Mate
NEVER REPAIR YOUR TRANSOM FROM THE OUTSIDE ALWAYS FROM THE INSIDE , NEVER DAMAGE OR CUT YOUR ORIGINAL HULL LAMINATES , THIS IS A WEAK AND DANGEROUS REPAIR 😢
check out YOUNG BLOODS on youtube because they have a similar or if not the same Voyager, cheers
Hey Dylan, thanks for watching, yeah i love brodies vids, his boat is actually why i bought mine haha!!
Your thickened epoxy (the white stuff) didn't look like it stuck to the hull very well. Too many contaminates.
Hey Dave, stuck very well! what contaminates are you referring too?

Total abortion, I replaced many transoms and floors . I have never seen such round about way of doing it.
Out of curiosity how would you do it?
@bearlyawake3904 nothing like the way you have done it. 👍 Otherwise it's me to know and you to find out.
@demisexgodfromhell why are assuming its my video?
Fun to watch, Angry Mack! Thanks!
