Since you have a 2 huge gold veins just NW of the Town Center and gold mines do not have a negative effect on desirability, I predict a thriving future. Provided you can source enough lumber while still feeding everyone.
Foresters should do well enough even with birch trees - and I’m not building a giant wall system so my wood will be easier to maintain

**IMPORTANT FARMING UPDATE!!! Fertility gains from compost now scale with environmental fertility factor in 9.0 - i will need to rework and redo a farming guide for 9.0 as the changes are pretty substantial.
for instance i got a +3% instead of +10% on a farm with 28% fertility factor
The old rule was +10% no matter what - which is how i survived on arid and wasteland - this must be what the dev was talking about when he said arid would be harder now

It might be helpful if you refer to areas as "North of TC, Southwest of TC" while spinning the map around explaining things. Saying "up, right, down," while playing Wheel of Fortune with the perspective makes hard it to grasp in real time.
@18:20 Town Center entrance faces south. Got it. That's my perspective when playing as well.
Yeah I typically always orientation myself with the TC facing south
