Like, honestly...everything is in the video and the description. But on updated videos I put WAY MORE INFO for the people who don’t follow instructions well, and half the comments on those videos are “Skip to 4:32 for recipe”, and the other half are the people who skipped the instructions and are coming back to bitch about it. 😂😂😂 UA-cam is the worst.
Why even reply to the negativity? People will always try to negate blame whenever and whichever they can. This wax works perfectly for me and I followed ALL your instructions. Been using it for a year now. Thanks a bunch! 🖤
Your comment was the first I read after watching your video and I'm honestly shocked that you've gotten negative comments. I was just thinking to myself how thorough and informative your video was. That bit about heating the glass container was such a small detail but I had no idea about that. Thumbs up from me!
Here’s what you need to know: This works, but you have to do some things that are not mentioned in the video. 1. Mix the sugar, water, and lemon juice well before placing it on the stove. 2. Bring the mixture to a boil on med-high but DO NOT LET IT BOIL OVER. This literally burned through my stove because I didn’t know. It’s properties make it like lava. 3. Once you see it at a verge of boiling over, pick the pot up and reduce to a lower temperature then place it back down. You still want it hot enough that the bubbles form. I ended up boiling for about 10-12 minutes to get that honey color. 4. I had to wait about 30 minutes for my mixture to cool before being able to use it. I made the soft wax version. Hope this helps!
Evelyn Howard when the sun hits it just right, the blonde hairs illuminate like a disco ball (seriously, not joking). And also, we don’t remove hair because people can see it, we remove it because it’s uncomfortable when leg hair gets pinched in clothes or I get goosebumps and the hair is rubbing on my clothes. And besides, who doesn’t love smooth legs?!!
As a 15 y/o middle eastern girl who’s had to do hair removal from home because of quarantine, I can confirm that it actually works for thick, dark hairs too. It took me a while to get the right temperature and consistency figured out but once you get it ITS SO WORTH IT TRUST ME (using soft wax)
Honestly, 50% of the comments on here are from people who can't read, and think this is exactly the same as waxing, when I clearly explained that it's not. >.< Sometimes I get irritable.
@@baby.goblin this is completely false! There is no evidence to show that removing hair causes it to grow back thicker, darker, or longer. This is a myth.
When you are boiling it have a glass of water beside and every now and then drip a little wax in the water it you can se it doesn't melt and forms a little ball, it is done...
You can eat it. You are essentially making lemon candy. Which is at the soft pull state. You can eat it as long as you didn't Use it to remove your hair before you start munchin on the sugar ball
Same for the first time when I tried it, wondered what it would taste like and ate all of it by mixing some apple in it.. Tasted like caramelized apple lol😂😂
I cooked this first time last night. It was too late for me to wait for it to cool down and try and so I went to sleep and anxiously anticipated to use it next day. I just finished my first leg and it i s AMAZING!!!! Way less pain than with regular wax, and takes out my dark hair perfectly! My advice is to pay attention when it is cooking to stop it at the right time - very light brown/golden color. Thank you for sharing this lovely recipe Kat!
Listen up, this might save your life. Okay, if you burn the wax or accidentally do it wrong, it probably will stick to the pot. Don't worry, to get it out run the pot under really hot tap water, then pour the tap water out. Repeat this process until the pot is clean. This happens because as the wax is heated, it melts and turns into liquid form, plus the water makes it so it can be poured down the drain. Preferably do this in a stainless steel sink. If you accidentally spill it on a counter top, floor, or another hard surface, don't worry this can be also cleaned. Just wet a rag until it is really hot and then rub the surface really hard. Keep repeating until all of the wax is gone, then dry it. If you do this the rag or cloth will probably have wax stuck on it, so just let it soak in really hot water. The wax should melt off the cloth, if it doesn't then it should be soft enough to peel off. Hope this helps someone!!!
FYI - DON'T do this in your drian. Think about it. That hard wax is going to be melty for only a small while. It's going to cool and get stuck in your drain. Fill the pan halfway with water and boil the water. Dump the boiling water in your yard. Repeat as necessary.
You can also just add a little water to the pan and put it back on the stove. Heat it up slowly until the steam loosens it from the pan. This is the same thing that you do to remove boil overs from IR electric stoves.
Aes Sedai you shouldn't have to worry about that, because of you use hot enough water it's going to dissolve. Even if it dosen't - it's not going to stay in the pipes forever, the water repeatedly going through will wash it away with time.
I used this video and it worked well for the hard wax. A few things went differently for me making the hard wax: I had to wait about 45-50 min for it to be cool enough and be thick enough to use. It took about 5-8 min for it to harden enough on my skin to pull off. I learned the hard way that if it isn't hardened (which I judged by tapping it with my nail and hearing a clicking sound and my nail leaving no indent) it was extremely painful and didn't really remove hair. That being said the ones that did cool and harden were relatively painless, ofc I followed the direction of growth and ripped that crap off as fast as I could. Some areas I had to go over twice and found I could reuse the same glob of sugar wax if I made it into a pancake and pinned the lower end down and spread the pancake upward using the other hand with a good amount of pressure, let it sit for a couple minutes, and could get the stray hairs. This is my first time ever waxing and I did it myself, it turned out pretty well using this tutorial but tweaking it along the way. It is possible to successfully sugar wax using this video and not burn the house down or anything.
This is the best homemade wax tutorial! I've made it a couple of times and it came out perfect! I don't have a measuring cup so I just measured using a tablespoon (16 tbsp=1 cup 4 tbsp = 1/4 cup) You can reuse your cloth strips by setting them in water and peeling wax right off or just let it dissolve, then wash cloths to use another time.
Thank you so much for this video! I substituted caster sugar for the white granular sugar. This worked for me the first time I made it and is the best wax I've ever made! I watched your video a few times, taking note of the actual colour of the sugar wax. I used the 2nd one, with strips from an old, thick, non-stretchy white sheet. I was sitting on a chair at my stove, just stirring with a whisk, letting the mix sit, bubble, stirring it continuously as it bubbled. When the colour began to turn yellow, a very light yellow, I kept an eye on it, because I wanted it to turn a pale honey. When it did turn a lovely pale gold, I removed the pan from the stove, removed my jar from the oven (on low), and poured in the sugar wax. As it cooled on the kitchen bench, the colour deepened and it got thicker and thicker. The final product was perfect, but amber coloured and slightly thicker than regular honey. So next time I'll do the same, look for colour not thickness of the mix, because as it sits and cools it gets thicker. I used bottled lemon juice and regular tap water. I mixed it with a whisk and let it sit for about 15 minutes before heating, too.
Long story short, I made this.. My experience went terrible lol. So I was boiling it until it was yellowish. I was following every instruction. The thing is, I used a plastic container instead of a glass container. (Bad idea... ) I poured my wax into my container and it overflowed . I started freaking out. It went on my counter down to my floor. I grabbed a hot rag and started scrubbing. Then I look up at the counter and I realize my container MELTED!! It got even worse!! I put the container outside so it could cool off. When I was taking it outside I was dropping it everywhere! ( I was barefoot ). Then I run back inside and stepped on the wax. (It burned like hell!) so I finished cleaning the kitchen. Then I go outside to grab my container. (I'm so dumb for not putting it in the trash.. ) The wax is everywhere outside!! I grab my container and it's still hot, the wax got all over my fingers. I got some bad burns. I then clean up all the mess I made. My parents weren't home so I cleaned everything before they were gone. I did end up with some bad burns but luckily I had shea butter to stop the inflammation. 😂😫
😂😂😂 omg girl that sounded horrific!!! Lol I pray our daughter doesnt try stuff like this when were not home. I would be more worried about her burns then my clean kitchen. Hope they healed well with no scarring mija
No, give it a try. At first I tried the hard one and didn't work, but the soft wax, when you get the right point of cook, is so great. The pain is ok compared to the Brazilian wax (I'm Brazilian, I know what I'm talking about), it's cheap, it lasts for almost a month. Just take some time for do it, but no further complains.
EVERYONE: I tried to make this 4 times but every time it got to hard to use properly. I failed so much until the one time I DIDNT MIX IT WHILE IT WAS BOILING! Mix it before it starts to bubble but once it does don’t touch it!!! Just wait till it turns gold/yellow (not brown) Then take it off the stove and turn it on it side and wait for the bubbles to die down by mixing and check the colour. Then let it thicken for about 15-20 minutes in the fridge. Then make sure it’s not hot and knead it. At first it will seem too sticky to work but once you start working it with your fingers you will notice it will start to work like you see in the videos!! Also you can keep this for a while! And just heat it up a little bit when you want to use it! Hope this helped!
i’ve been doing this since the beginning of the year with this recipe and my armpit hair & bikini area is way thinner and less painful. i’m gonna now attempt to do the entire Brazilian area wish me luck lmao
I just tried this yesterday. I made a small batch for experimenting with. It worked amazingly! It was way better than the waxes I've purchased at the store. I think it even hurt less. It's great because it's extremely easy to clean up - just use hot water! The store bought waxes were always so difficult to clean up - almost impossible in some cases. I'm using the rest of my test batch right now. Just pop it in the microwave and you're good to go! This is now my go-to hair removal method. Also, whoever in the comments suggested coffee filters to use as strips is a lifesaver - they worked great!
We are taught the same way you showed in this video in cosmetology. Those people who do it the wrong way are imposters! My cosmetology teacher showed us this video to the class when we were learning, and I NEVER WATCH another video. I love how direct/to the point you are!
There’s other ways to sugar as well. I wasn’t taught to use strips or treat it like hard wax. I was shown just to flick the paste itself. Works wonders.
@@jbee1116 I know this comment is 4 years old but it's the opposite. For sugar waxing, you always want to apply the wax the opposite direction of the hair THEN pull it with the direction of the hair.
I've tried this before and I love the fact that everything is all natural and free within your house!😊 I think both methods are great and its 10 times better than shaving...I'd recommend this to anyone who may have more sensitive skin or if you're over the shaving.....Thank you for sharing!💜
To make the waxing less painful try soaking the area that you want to wax in water for 1 or 2 minutes this way the hair follicles are way more loose and it will be less painful
Great simple diy instructions! I cook my wax (strip wax) slower than what she does. That's where a lot of ppl go wrong too much heat too quick will ruin a batch, it's better to cook slower turning up the heat slowly, once you have made it a few times you get the hang of where the heat needs to be at on your stove 👍
I like how everyone’s concern is about burning their house while mine is how the hell do I heat up my jar so I won’t break any jars so my mom can’t get me in trouble
I tried the soft wax and omg!!it is magic. If you're doubting, please try it. I've tried hundreds of recipes but these one ACTUALLY worked. I tried it on my legs(fist time I shave my legs) and it worked amazingly. Plus it didn't hurt. If you're having trouble getting it to the right consistency, just keep boiling it and you'll see.
Graciela Flores If you're bleeding, you've done it the wrong way or you have the wrong consistency. You shouldn't bleed at all, nor should it hurt like hell.
So ummm. My mum said... “do you smell something burning??” And I said “nooooo..” I went in the kitchen and it was black. I threw the pan away in the dumpster so she won’t see. Ugh I’m dumb pls only boil it for 4 mins. I now have 5 candles going and a fan on full speed. Be careful Edit: woa was not expecting 400 likes. Thx
I’ve tried many different types of waxes and none of them compare to this one!! The soft wax works like a charm + is FAR less painful + cost efficient ❤️ thank you!
Quarantine comment!!! I did the hard wax version - what you had was correct, but the last step before using it on your skin was to knead it a little. Take the blob off the knife and play with it like taffy to make it malleable THEN spread. This way it stays gummy and you can use the same blob a bunch of times 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Being an amateur pastry chef I reccomend not to stir the "caramel" while it's boiling, you can move your pot a bit but don't use ANYTHING to mix is, especially not a cool inox spoon. You can use a sugar thermometer and usually. You can make the soft ball at 240°F (117 F°) and a hardball for hard wax at 261°F (128°C)
Thank u for this vid!!! It worked so well! Things u might wanna look out for: 1.make sure you the weakness and highest settings of your stove. 2.put it on medium heat. 3.dont leave on the stove for too long or it will turn into a gross candy. 4.take it off the stove when it is yellow and about to turn gold. 5.let it cool a little. I found these tips helpful... hope they help others. By the way cooking times are different for other stoves.
It's an old arabic way called halawa it's much better than shaving and healthier by regular using the hair will get less and less .... I have been using it since I was 14 ..... BUT don't recommend using it on your face because it will cause wrinkles and loose skin especially around the eyebrows and mouth GREAT VIDEO and I usually buy it but will definitely try making at home thnx
Hershy Dog you're pulling the skin with the hair .... by time the skin will get looser because the face skin is thine and sensitive ; believe me I have seen it and it's not cute 🙅 . Personally I use tweezers and threading for my eyebrows and only threading for the area around my mouth (I don't want to say mustache 😅😅)
Someone told me you shouldn't use it on your face and I was wondering why!!! Makes sense. Thanks for letting us know. Now only if I could get good at threading... Lol
I tried it for the first time..and it was a fail! but the second time, it actually worked! kept doing this and found out that this removed unwanted hair permanently! like omg! this is so great!
Me: oh this looks fun! *Proceeds to make it* Me: *sees it bubbling then it bubbles onto the burner* Me:oH ShEt *smoke goes everywhere fire alarms going off and waking my family at 4am* Me:*goes under a rock and never tries new things again*
To all: make soft wax. also you can store it for later and put the glass bottle in a pot full of hot water for reheating (for about 5-10 mins). you'll notice it's a little watery which is good. i made this perfectly on the 1st try, it's not that hard. don't go word for word by this recipe, use your own common sense as to how hot it should be and for how long.
I just attempted the hard wax. I used a relatively small bowl, which caused it to boil over. Which proceeded to burn on my stove and make a cloudy mess of my house. Make sure to use a big enough bowl. I repeat. Make. Sure. To. Use. A. Big. Enough. Bowl.
Thank you so much for this video. I'm an absolute beginner with understanding waxing & you wouldn't believe how difficult it is to just find straightforward info about waxing. It's all technical jargon & it's so easy to get lost in.
Alright, clear the chickens off the runway. I tried the hard wax on my bikini line and here's what happened: First, it came out perfectly at 6.5 minutes (electric stove, half batch). I allowed it to cool and followed all instructions. When first attempting to apply, I noticed that it was a bit stringy when coming out of the container; this is the nature of sugar, so though it was annoying, it couldn't be helped. Putting it on, however, was a challenge: By waiting until it was cool enough not to burn, I found that it wouldn't spread well. My inaugural lump just pulled hair, made me yelp a little, and had me reconsidering this whole thing. Nonetheless, I persevered. To get it to actually spread, I had to let it stay hot. Not quite depths of hell hot, mind you, but the sort of heat you'd expect driving up to the gates. I spread a streak on the northern tree line, whimpered and wriggled around a little bit as I waited for it to solidify, and then grasped the end to pull. It should be noted here that I have a high pain tolerance. I once cut out my own ingrown toenail with nothing but a pocketknife, nail scissors, and a shot of Fireball. Anyway, I held my skin taut and ripped the wax off. The noise I made was something like if one of those whistling tea kettles came to life and uttered a battlecry. Gasping for air, I studied the wounded area and saw that 1) yes, the wax was definitely hot enough to burn my skin, and 2) ONLY HALF THE HAIR CAME OFF. Not knowing if the fault lay with me or this caramel of hell, I proceeded to try again. And again. And six more times because damn it, I am not a quitter and I do NOT waste sugar. Not once did the strip actually lift all the hair. The end result looked like my kitty had mange and a sunburn. I came away from the experience with a sticky pot, a lighter bag of sugar, and a healthy dose of regret. 0/10, do not recommend.
You're writing skills dazzle me. I hate you had such a terrible experience. But at the same time your colorful writing allowed me to envision your experience.
Hey kat ♡ Thank you for this video it helped so much ! For the people asking if it works , it does , i made this 'soft wax' exactly as she did in the video and i left it to cool completely and it became thicker than honey as she said and it works well . But girls if you are using this for your bikini line please hold your skin as she said , i forgot to do so for one strip and it did bruse unlike the times i held my skin , so be careful with that . Hope this helped a bit . :)
Hard sugaring worked for me. After only 2 applications, my hair grows back in wayyy thinner and less frequently on my underarms and pubic area. Only thing is the sugaring process itself takes a long time and can be painful in the pubic area but it was worth it for me. Also, you can refrigerate and reheat any unused portion until next week or so
Hi Kat, thank you for sharing this video. I made this recipe and I'm in love with it. It does remove all my unwanted hair on my face and I have to say that I'm impressed in how well this works. Thanks again!!
I've been getting brazilian waxes consistently for years but was always too scared to do it myself. I finally caved to do it on my own because of COVID-19 and I'm in love! I've had hard wax, soft wax, and even done a sugaring session where they had kneaded sugar (hated it). So when I saw this sugar recipe for a soft sugar wax version, I was optimistic and it worked like a dream! It didn't even hurt as much as when I got it professionally waxed. I'm gonna use this for everything now!
This recipe is super EASY! If you follow the instructions, you almost can’t go wrong. I did stir the mixture constantly for the 7 minutes like an article suggested I read. I did everything else exactly as instructed in this video. Warmed up the glass container, waited for the wax to completely cool. (Those that are applying such hot wax that you are burning yourself, the instructions say not to apply hot wax!) Also washing the pot right after you use it with very hot water will dissolve the mixture so that the pot doesn’t have to be thrown away, like some are experiencing. I made the hard wax version so I didn’t have to use strips. Very easy to get this recipe right, & I’m blind in one eye, and compromised visually, in the other eye. Most recipes you have to try again & again to get the sugar wax *just right.* This version is simple. Worked my first time trying it, & I’ve never done sugar waxing before. Thank-you for this video!
Came back to add, this works well at just popping in the microwave for 25 seconds once it has hardened. It even works on hair that is shorter than a grain of rice, which Google says the hair needs to be that long in order to sugar it. I’m massively impressed by how easy this recipe is. The wax is reusable, not that you need to reuse, since the ingredients are so affordable. (Got mine at the $1 store.) Really appreciate this creator for making this video!
This video helped me sooo much! I almost gave up on making my own wax and then I saw your video and you said strips work better. You are right. With my husband’s help, the strip waxing works amazingly! All the wax places are closed due to Covid-19 so I’m grateful to do this myself!
Thank you so much for this video! The only mistake I made was burning my first batch, but the second one came out perfect (mine was a little lighter in color). A bit messy in the beginning but once I got the hang of it, it worked no doubt!!
I’m going to try this, if it doesn’t work I’ll just eat it Edit: I tried it and it kinda worked but kinda didn’t. Like it worked, but it doesn’t remove all the hair
Been doing this for 4 years now and this video helps me a lot. I quit shaving and my hair doesn't grow as fast as before although I'm really hairy. I've made a mistake three times until I got the hang of it. Suggestions if you want to try sugar waxing it's much easier if you cook the soft sugar wax first until you get it then try practicing the hard sugar wax because it's less hassle and much better.
I use fabric with the hard wax. Get great results 👍 also I've found if my wax is a rich caramel colour then I've boiled too long, just slightly that colour which is more like 3min boiling seems to work for me. I've been doing this for years now and it's awesome. Thanks so much for this video! I love sugar wax and would never go back to shaving
I tried the soft wax recipe a few months ago and OMG ! I used it on even the most stubborn hairs to wax ( no no square) it pulled them right out !! I do recommend drying out your skin first using alcohol or baby powder 😁
Thanks so much, your video was actually very easy to understand here how my version goes for those who wondering: Ingredients -2 cups sugar -1/2 cup H2O -1/2 cup lime juice, remove seed Making -Put ingredients into a bowl, mix well, the sugar dont need to be fully dissolved the mix just need to look thicker than water -Pour in pot (tall pot for when u makin big batches) and put on high heat for 6’ , occasionally stir it to prevent burning on the bottom then depend on the environment you’re in, put the heat off or continue to cook for longer ( the color shouldn’t affect the sugar though, you can even have a clear sugar wax so it rl just depend on how it feel) *Way to test: get a cup of cold water,(put the pot away from the heat when testing) pour some sugar in the water, then try to scoop it up w your finger, if the sugar is soft (not runny!) n easy to manipulate( shape) by finger but still can turn to its liquidy stage then it’s done! -Left the pot rest for at least 20’, then pour it in a heat-safe container w no lid on, room temperature (i oil-ed mine just incase it’s hard to remove) for couple mins till it’s safe to touch then you can now wax Couple note 📝 -The amount im doin is enough for hand and legs ( a bit more than enough) go ahead and change the ratio to your liking but i recommend doin small batch so not to waste much if u f-up, just make sure that the ratio of sugar to liquid is 2:1 -24h after waxing should avoid doing hash activity, no exfoliating n other stuff (^ν^) -I cant seem to wax it off izly by hand so i use strips :3 -I thought the strips need to be a specific fabric but no, just use whatever clothes you got, i cut up my old thai pant. You can wash it off by soaking it in hot warm water for 2 times and it can be reusable which it nice -The wax is best use when it slightly too warm but still safe for skin -Edit: remember to powder your skin before puttin the wax!! any powder is fine (im usin baby powder) -First time doin this (on my arms and legs) is quite painful but can tolerate, my legs are less painful prob bc i know to warm it up now. But it probably gonna hurt like hell for my armpits ^^ -Your pores bleeding a bit are completely natural -After waxing remember to wash off the residue w cold water you can also put some ice cube to lessen the swelling, the. put on some moisturizer -Important: waxing yourself is optional, just ones preference, do it comfortably at your own risk . -This experiment was quite enjoyable, everything is simple, iz to clean up, reusable,.. -Edit: today (4/4) im just wax myself again, much more lenient and comfortable, some pores still bleed but i dont feel any pain this time tho. Im now doin a bigger batch n it took quite longer time as well, but w the cold water method i can izly tell when it’s done. Thank you for reading this! I rl wish everyone can try sugar waxing out😌 im super pleased w the result i get (much smoother skin as well lol)
Hey Hi, I tried this method at home . It was a bit painful but it worked very well and also I see tan is also removed. This is really very safe and very economical too. Thank you so much keep sharing such home remedies. More Power and inner peace to you. 🌸❤️
Honestly I'm watching this because all my other shaving methods has been failing me ,and everyone has been talking about this so I wanted to give it a try ,it seems easy but complicated😀. Edit: it works ,like really good
This is effective! I've tried it (soft wax), although in my case it took around 9 minutes to achieve the desired light brown color. 🙂 thanks for sharing this 🥰
I shave my legs but I'm too unsure to shave my face because of the thicker hair so here I am looking to wax my face, I look like a I have a mustach and wanna get rid of it so bad.
@@areism I have a mustache too and honestly I don't like mine too. I was told that shaving it will make it grow back thicker so I I have no choice but to leave it😂😭
Hey take love from Bangladesh ❤️ I tried so many years and failed thanks to u i tried after seeing your video It's quite perfect. Everyone should try it.
I did this and it actually worked! I actually waxed myself...in places that I thought would be a complete disaster. And I feel like such a big girl. Lol 💖
Good tutorial, but there's hardly any hair on your arm. I think waxing an area with more thick or dense hair would be more effective in showing how the sugar wax works. I wonder if this would work as well as regular wax on my werewolf legs
+lelechim Wondering the same thing. I'm always like "???" in razor commercials where women shave already pristine hairless legs. This is even sillier considering she's supposed to be demonstrating the effectiveness of a wax. I haven't shaved in 7 or so months, I think I'm going to trim my "werewolf" legs and then try this.
+Bran O'neil I think because shes blonde you cant see the hair very well, I can see that she does have hair, but it also looks like its not removing it though
I usually don't leave comments often, but what a great video. You're direct and to the point. SO many videos are more about people rambling about themselves about shit no one cares about. I wish EVERYONE made their videos like this one. Great job. I also like that you added precautions for dumb ass people who would blame you for putting hot wax on and burning themselves. I'm a nurse and believe me, they would. Awesome job sweetie.

Here’s what you need to know:
This works, but you have to do some things that are not mentioned in the video.

And also, we don’t remove hair because people can see it, we remove it because it’s uncomfortable when leg hair gets pinched in clothes or I get goosebumps and the hair is rubbing on my clothes. And besides, who doesn’t love smooth legs?!!

That’s incorrect. Hair grows back thicker from shaving but actually thinner after waxing or sugaring
@@baby.goblin this is completely false! There is no evidence to show that removing hair causes it to grow back thicker, darker, or longer. This is a myth.

Hi fam

Very helpful - thank you!!
Even if it dosen't - it's not going to stay in the pipes forever, the water repeatedly going through will wash it away with time.
thanks
I love how she tests her wax on tiny almost invisible blonde hair...kind of hard to tell how effective this is lol

Liss Paezzi exactly

I don't have a measuring cup so I just measured using a tablespoon (16 tbsp=1 cup 4 tbsp = 1/4 cup)
You can reuse your cloth strips by setting them in water and peeling wax right off or just let it dissolve, then wash cloths to use another time.
I cut up coffee filters and use that as stripes and they work fine. 6/2017 update they look and feel like the paper stripes you buy in waxing kits.
Never thought of that. Great idea!
Oooh thank you! I was trying to find something around the house I could use!
You can also use a cotton t-shirt and cut it into strips, after use soak them in hot soapy water and air dry
sasha morgan that is actually really smart... thank you
You can use paper
The exact same thing happened to me lmfaoo

Yeah except she switched the part where you apply IN the direction of hair growth the remove AGAINST the growth.

Gonna try this way after this heatwave blows over.
Being an amateur pastry chef I reccomend not to stir the "caramel" while it's boiling, you can move your pot a bit but don't use ANYTHING to mix is, especially not a cool inox spoon. You can use a sugar thermometer and usually. You can make the soft ball at 240°F (117 F°) and a hardball for hard wax at 261°F (128°C)
aeileen why can’t we use a spoon
Mileen air gets in which can end up making it into a hard candy compared to a wax
Ashley Nicole i see! thank yoi
Would a meat thermometer work?
@thisbitch 123 in soft ball the sugar does not get brown
i’ve been doing this with RAW sugar for years, still works! you just gotta mix it w the lemon for longer before boiling it

Thank you so much for this video. I'm an absolute beginner with understanding waxing & you wouldn't believe how difficult it is to just find straightforward info about waxing. It's all technical jargon & it's so easy to get lost in.
She's so pretty!
I like her eyes so much!
Alright, clear the chickens off the runway. I tried the hard wax on my bikini line and here's what happened:
First, it came out perfectly at 6.5 minutes (electric stove, half batch).
0/10, do not recommend.
haha!
Please write a book! That had me laughing

Hey kat ♡
Thank you for this video it helped so much !
Also, you can refrigerate and reheat any unused portion until next week or so
Whats your best method to reheat?

I’ve been using this soft wax recipe on my arms for almost a year now and it works great!!
Dud you use soft wax orr hard wax...? I'm a bit scared, I'm 17 years and i haven't done waxing yet..... Can you please give me some compan?🥺
This video helped me sooo much! I almost gave up on making my own wax and then I saw your video and you said strips work better. You are right. With my husband’s help, the strip waxing works amazingly! All the wax places are closed due to Covid-19 so I’m grateful to do this myself!
The hard wax doesn’t work for me. Soft wax works every time!

Thank you so much for this video! The only mistake I made was burning my first batch, but the second one came out perfect (mine was a little lighter in color). A bit messy in the beginning but once I got the hang of it, it worked no doubt!!
Just made it and used it
I swear it was awesome
Not a single hair is left ❤️❤️
I couldn’t tell if it works because she had no hair to begin with 😭
Right !
It worked for me when I tried it a couple of months ago, I'm reattempting it now
Exactly
@Verde Green Did u tried both methods? What is better, the first or second one?
She does , it’s too light to see ...but the patch did clear up
I’m going to try this, if it doesn’t work I’ll just eat it
Edit: I tried it and it kinda worked but kinda didn’t. Like it worked, but it doesn’t remove all the hair
Did it work?
Keerat Gill Sorry I didn’t end up making it 😭 I will someday though hopefully hehw
DIO!
Jazmin Luna Ayyyy kakyoin
Im eating it rn
Been doing this for 4 years now and this video helps me a lot. I quit shaving and my hair doesn't grow as fast as before although I'm really hairy. I've made a mistake three times until I got the hang of it. Suggestions if you want to try sugar waxing it's much easier if you cook the soft sugar wax first until you get it then try practicing the hard sugar wax because it's less hassle and much better.
"I don't care if you went to cosmetology school" lmao
+Alysia Chavez I delete like 50 comments a week with people thinking its the wrong direction...because they can't read. >.
+Katrinaosity I just thought that was so funny! 😅
Alysia Chavez when does she say it?
2:48 it's an annotation only
I use fabric with the hard wax.
Thanks so much, your video was actually very easy to understand
here how my version goes for those who wondering:
Ingredients
-2 cups sugar
-1/2 cup H2O
-1/2 cup lime juice, remove seed
Making
-Put ingredients into a bowl, mix well, the sugar dont need to be fully dissolved the mix just need to look thicker than water
-Pour in pot (tall pot for when u makin big batches) and put on high heat for 6’ , occasionally stir it to prevent burning on the bottom
then depend on the environment you’re in, put the heat off or continue to cook for longer ( the color shouldn’t affect the sugar though, you can even have a clear sugar wax so it rl just depend on how it feel)
*Way to test: get a cup of cold water,(put the pot away from the heat when testing)
pour some sugar in the water, then try to scoop it up w your finger, if the sugar is soft (not runny!) n easy to manipulate( shape) by finger but still can turn to its liquidy stage then it’s done!
-Left the pot rest for at least 20’, then pour it in a heat-safe container w no lid on, room temperature (i oil-ed mine just incase it’s hard to remove) for couple mins till it’s safe to touch then you can now wax
Couple note 📝
-The amount im doin is enough for hand and legs ( a bit more than enough) go ahead and change the ratio to your liking but i recommend doin small batch so not to waste much if u f-up, just make sure that the ratio of sugar to liquid is 2:1
-24h after waxing should avoid doing hash activity, no exfoliating n other stuff (^ν^)
-I cant seem to wax it off izly by hand so i use strips :3
-I thought the strips need to be a specific fabric but no, just use whatever clothes you got, i cut up my old thai pant. You can wash it off by soaking it in hot warm water for 2 times and it can be reusable which it nice
-The wax is best use when it slightly too warm but still safe for skin
-Edit: remember to powder your skin before puttin the wax!! any powder is fine (im usin baby powder)
-First time doin this (on my arms and legs) is quite painful but can tolerate, my legs are less painful prob bc i know to warm it up now. But it probably gonna hurt like hell for my armpits ^^
-Your pores bleeding a bit are completely natural
-After waxing remember to wash off the residue w cold water you can also put some ice cube to lessen the swelling, the. put on some moisturizer
-Important: waxing yourself is optional, just ones preference, do it comfortably at your own risk .

@@cyberstarz5084 you’re welcome i hope you get good result ^^
@@millcraft Same for you ! ^w^
Is lemon really necessary?? I dont have any type of lemon...
@@onikaamala4149 yes, hi limes is very crucial to this mix in order to make the syrupy form ^^
Description goes “Can I eat it?” She goes yes you can eat it. Weirdo. I felt that 😭🙌🏽🤣
i love this, i’ve made it a couple times and every time it turns out right. thank youuu you’re the only one i trust
Came back in 2020 just to see people still can’t watch the entire video before making things. 👍
i watched the whole thing its only like 4 minutes yall come on
I did too, and I waxed my dads back when he was sleeping bc I was bored:)
i watched this video maybe 5 times before making it lmao
@@naomihernandez2801 I'll be too lazy lol, im sure he's thankful 😂👌🏻
Kat, I'm so making this. Haven't seen my esthetician in months due to COVID-19. Thank you for this.
Hey Hi, I tried this method at home . It was a bit painful but it worked very well and also I see tan is also removed. This is really very safe and very economical too. Thank you so much keep sharing such home remedies.
More Power and inner peace to you. 🌸❤️
almost burnt my kitchen down
LOL :D I messed up our kitchen XD Spilled this shit on the floor and its rock hard hahaha
+VegAnn omg did you get it off?
Pritz Angelz yeah :D It goes of very easily with a knife
Dylan the Dinosaur same omg!!!!
LMAO same and it's my grandma kitchen Lord if she onlyy knew.
Honestly I'm watching this because all my other shaving methods has been failing me ,and everyone has been talking about this so I wanted to give it a try ,it seems easy but complicated😀. Edit: it works ,like really good
For how long did you boil it ?
I boiled mine for a good 20 mins or so on a high ish medium.
Tried waxing for the first time, and this worked really well 😄 less pain too ... thnx a ton 😘
did you use lemon juice from a bottle or fresh lemons?
I tried this 2 times and when u do make it properly and use it with care it works good!!! Thanks for this!
Is it edible though but without the hair
Chewy yes
Chewy it’s only edible with the hair
BEANSTER lmfao
Really, Chewy?? 🤦🏾
Chewy yes dip some apples on it yummy
This is effective! I've tried it (soft wax), although in my case it took around 9 minutes to achieve the desired light brown color. 🙂 thanks for sharing this 🥰
My mom doesn't want me to shave my legs so my rebellious self brought me here😭😂😂
Omg same but it's me that doesn't want to shave lol
@@kimbo9793 😂
I shave my legs but I'm too unsure to shave my face because of the thicker hair so here I am looking to wax my face, I look like a I have a mustach and wanna get rid of it so bad.
@@areism I have a mustache too and honestly I don't like mine too.
I was told that shaving it will make it grow back thicker so I I have no choice but to leave it😂😭
Hey take love from Bangladesh ❤️
I tried so many years and failed thanks to u i tried after seeing your video It's quite perfect.
Everyone should try it.
I did this and it actually worked! I actually waxed myself...in places that I thought would be a complete disaster. And I feel like such a big girl. Lol 💖
For anyone using dl instead of cups here is the recipe for hard wax:
4,7 dl sugar
0,6 dl lemon juice
0,6 dl water
Enjoy!❤️
Thank you :)
@@lamain6673 no problem!!☺️
What's dl?
Sweden thanks you ❤

Yesss! Thank you for this! Seriously the best tutorial that I've seen so far. I cannot wait to make a batch to try!
