Kirby is actually Nintendo's most mature and...disturbing series, if Mother isn't in consideration. There is a lot of freaky and dark shit going on in the series.
I agree, but it's HAL the one with the disturbances of the Franchise. *FRANCHISE SPOILERS* From the possessing Dark Matter, to their leader Zero and 02, to the betraying Marx and Magolor, all the way to the OMNICIDAL Star Dream and Haltmann.
Don't forget metroid. From ghosts, Gore, possession and Giant Predators, to Dark backstories, gene-mutilation and ambient wastelands. This franchise has it all.
If you take Metroid and Mother into play, Kirby would be ranked 3rd spookiest in my book, Metroid being at the top. But yeah, Kirby's pretty damn scary.
i HATE video game time limits, and i am actually scared of them, just like you. in face, when i was a kid, if there was a time limit in my game, my mom would have to finish it for me 'cause id be too scared.
omg I remember my first sonic game was sanic hereos and I loved it because I was 5. Then when I got sonic adventure DX for pc, the game opens with a giant creature flooding the city as heavy metal plays. You start the game as sanic in a dark city with sirens wailing loudly. Suddenly, a water creature forms himself right by sonic and the creepy rock music for Chaos begins to play. This scared the crap out of me, mom beat this level for me. (I lost it when he started throwing punches.) After that, the only saving grace this game had was the fact that I loved chao garden to death. And I also mostly played as tails because he was fast and could fly. Plus only one Chaos battle. Sonic Adventure DX is my favorite sonic game because every character has fairly fast based game play *cough cough I never got the final ending until I was 16 because somebody thought sanic was bass pro* I loved the exploration you could get by playing as tails and breaking the game. The controls were so fluid and the game was crazy entertaining. You could spindash in to a high jump and climb walls on the speedway. Everyone loves sonic adventure 2 better, but sonic adventure dx is my favorite. (Knuckles/Rogue wasn't as fun to play in sa2 in my opinion and I hated the fact that tails couldn't fly in sa2.) Plus gamma's story ;^;
Actually, it makes sense that Kirby would have some rather scary things in it. Think about it: all the games take place in either Dreamland or some dream-like plane. The main villain you fight in some of those games, aside from DeDeDe, are nightmares.
espically every Nintendo character. because Zelda kills a lot of stuff just to save an area, mario just kills his own people and turtles for no good reason. and Kirby really doesn't kill his enemy, if he eats them, they just get stuck in a pocket dimension
Just saying and it might be true but what if Meta Knight is the hero of Revenge Of Meta Knight. Lets face it, would you have him as ruler of dream land....or Dedede. Sure it looks like he's threatening dream land with the Halberd but maybe he was just using that for self defence. Finally, Dedede is a bad king, he can't even supply his own food!
There's so much dark and disturbing crap in the Kirby Series, you could probably make a hour-long Creepy Moments special just talking about them. My favorite creepy moment is when President Hallmann from Planet Robobot, you know, GETS HIS FUCKING SOUL INTERGRATED INTO AN A.I AND BECOMES A MACHINE THAT WANTS TO DESTROY EVERYTHING AND EVENTUALLY LITERALLY GOES INSANE
I never liked how they put the question mark at "The End" I say this because what if there was a game with no alternate endings, and it says "The End?" I say this because it could make the player do a whole bunch of crap just because of an ending that was actually hinting at a sequel or something, and not a bad ending
I never understand the Kirby plot. Why do King Dedede, Metaknight and Kirby sometimes work together and somethimes not? Do they have a split personality? The spear Waddle Dee from Kirby´s return to Dreamland even kills many other Waddle Dees and they try to kill him.
It's actually been a long time since Dedede was a straight up villain. In fact, he's been a straight up ally in recent games. So basically, he's progressed over the years. Meta knight works for his own goals and his cooperation with Kirby depends if they coincide with those goals. Waddle Dees are a herd race and a slave race, not caring if their masters are evil as long as someone bosses them around, so it's not unusual for some to be on different sides. Not that it matters much. Kirby usually fights demons that threaten everything, so even if they hate Kirby, they are probably dead if they don't help him.
i love your videos, its hard to find a youtuber who makes videos about videogame curiosities, bad endings, easter eggs, etc...........and you sir are a badass at creepy bad endings, and i am just another new suscriber.
It's like they for Kirby 64 too! If you don't get all of the crystals, the queen chick and the fairy will wave good bye, but the queen will smirk evilly. If you get them all, you get to kill cactus butt :3
In the video "Mecha Mighty" the ending is exactly like this one.Sonic lands,he sees the Death Egg plummet into the ocean, and he runs while the credits roll.
The music you found calm always makes me sad, epically in the game "King DeDe's return" (Sorry if I messed up it's been a long time since I've played a Kirby game) because he looks so sad losing again and I believe losing his castle which was his home.
Oh, I've been really waiting for this one. I have a little piece of theory about that "Hyper Zone" thing. It may be a germ which distributes Dark Force (or is it still Dark Matter?) around the planet Pop Star to turn it into a Dark Star which we could see in Kirby 64. I think the Ripple Star was planned to be a Dark Star, too (Dark Star... Two?). Same for all the other planets.
As Bobgoober said, not to mention ESRB's ratings are usually based on the general nature of the game, many kid friendly games will have some kind of innuendo or mature theme hidden in later stages however. Even Mario has been guilty of certain cases (such as playing as naked Peach in Paper Mario TTYD). Lately, game companies don't get away with stuff like that anymore, but if you're clevar, you can put something adult in a kids game and no one will notice, but it'll be worth a chuckle.
OH O- AHH THAT'S GRUESOME, DID THAT EYE THING JUST BLEED, AND COME APART!? I MEAN THE PUPIL... AND THE WHITE... WHOOSH... OH, OH AAAAGGGH!! *obnoxiously loud regurgitating noise*
The fact that Shiver Star in Kirby 64 looks like a frozen Earth, and is described as all life from it moving to other planets, and there are factories and robots, meaning it could be Earth, and that Kirby games are in a post apocalyptic version of our world, makes it terrifying to think about.
your comment about the "hurry up or you're gonna die" sequence reminds me of Megaman X3 after fighting Vile. if I recall correctly, that's the only timed escape sequence in the series. plus, I know there are "bad" endings throughout the Megaman X series. have you considered doing a video on those? great vids btw!
omg someone else that played that game?! I loved the Drawn to Life series, and the ending to the sequel pissed me off so much, I still rage over that more than the ending to Mass Effect 3
Woah, Dedede has been possessed HARD on Dream Land 3. Almost like he has gotten a new layer in his body. And it's hard to see his eyes... Kinda hard to see if this is the REAL Dedede or just a copy...
The Queen's evil glare at the end IS far worse than KDL 3's bad ending. While I agree that seeing the looming Dark Matter does indicate that you're not done, I AM surprised that Whois didn't mention Kirby 64, which in my opinoin, it's bad ending is by far the scariest moment of all the Kirby games cause it indicates that Kirby could've gone home and Ripple Star would've been .. .well... 6-2 all over again (I still get chills playing that stage).
In Kirby 64, fail to get all crystal shards and the heroes will have already left by the time it's shown the Queen Fairy is possessed. No one is there to save Ribbon...
Dream Land 3's endings look pretty much the same as 2's- if you don't find the special items in each world you'll beat DeDeDe and not Dark Matter. Not really worth an episode, but you should check out the bad ending for Kirby 64- similar principle, but it's amazing how a single expression on a character's face can inspire you to get to work finding those secret items so you can fight Zero-Two.
The ending is the Dark Matter being sent off into the distance, Kirby and co. heading home, and the Ripple Star Queen looking at the you with a creepy smile on her face. Just a typical bad ending where you don't particularly see bad things happening. I don't see where the scare came in. Honestly, what scared me more was that, spoiler alert, she had the entire Hyper Zone inside of her.
index picture for video: the boss fight that has some demon thingie in it. K. actually.. Meta Knight IS a gentleman. He could've fought Kirby without giving him a chance, but he did with the sword powerup.
Yes. And he comes back in Kirby 64 as an angel, who shoots crystallized blood from a hellish nightmare void made of blood and darkness, while you shoot sharp objects into his exposed eye to kill him....again.
Oh yes. Please do make one for Corpse Party. In total, there are 17 different endings. Only about 5 of these endings are "good" ones, and even then you can't save all of your friends no matter how hard you try.
On 10:54 I remember watching that final boss on Nintendo Unity and the background was beige with red circles going one way and blue one going the other. Was that taken away from the US version because of that reason or what?😶
Whoisthisgit, have you ever heard of the two games Uninvited and Shadowgate? They are old games for the computer and NES/Famicom, and they have a lot of bad endings and wrong turns you can get into.
i really hate the part that have time in the revenge of meta knight like ''WHY WE STILL HAVE THE TIMER IN BOSS BATTLES?!'',When i get a bad ending in kirby dreamland 3 and the crystal shards, for a weird reason that evil stare totally gets to me that make me love the dark matter like i'm hypnotized or somethin o-o,but meh i always love the dark matter either way :D
there should be a remake of kirby 3 where you always get the first ending, but then kirby actually realizes that the dark matter is there, and so then he has to do all the things again ghosts and goblin esque,(without the time limit) and get the 'better' ending. people will be on the levels in the second half, so it will be a bit easier.
I think 02 in Kirby 64 is the coolest boss/enemy in the whole series. The music that plays is cool too, my favorite on the music CD that came with my Kirby Dream Collection for Wii. Everything else in the games is almost too cute, even for me. But of course, I wasn't a little kid any more when these games first came out. A shark named Joe??
Actually, the chase scene (along with Heave Lobster) were my favourite parts in KSS(U). But yes, the Kirby series are infamous for really creepy stuff, in games all cute and sugary. Just look at HOW Zero dies.
Ah, Kirby, where the land and enemies are cute and sweet and the final boss is absolutely terrifying...
Same could be said for your profile picture.
Pycasne Eesost You know it. ;)
And add some hardcore rock in there too
Macho Cat omg macho cat i thought I was the only one that played that game
"prepare to die" was the most significant line from that game.
Kirby is actually Nintendo's most mature and...disturbing series, if Mother isn't in consideration. There is a lot of freaky and dark shit going on in the series.
What is it with Nintendo and having disturbing things in generally lighthearted games?
I agree, but it's HAL the one with the disturbances of the Franchise.
*FRANCHISE SPOILERS*
From the possessing Dark Matter, to their leader Zero and 02, to the betraying Marx and Magolor, all the way to the OMNICIDAL Star Dream and Haltmann.

Princess Luna same
Princess Luna In fact, I don’t give a shit about time limits. They caused me 9999 deaths in the Mario games
Princess Luna I feel you bro
No seriously, have you seen the final bosses of Kirby games? Almost all of them are demons of hell
Random question: Who else fucking loved the meta knight airship theme??
MY FLAMES CONSUME ALL Same
me
Everyone who watched this video. What's not to love about it?
MY FLAMES CONSUME ALL me
The Samson Bros one is better rework
Actually, it makes sense that Kirby would have some rather scary things in it. Think about it: all the games take place in either Dreamland or some dream-like plane. The main villain you fight in some of those games, aside from DeDeDe, are nightmares.
YOU KNOW KIRBY FOR KIDS
As all Nintendo games! Like Fire Emblem when people, even main character continue to die. Yes,it is for kids.
If you think about it, Kirby is a very morbid game.
KIRBY IS FUCKING PISSED!!
espically every Nintendo character. because Zelda kills a lot of stuff just to save an area, mario just kills his own people and turtles for no good reason. and Kirby really doesn't kill his enemy, if he eats them, they just get stuck in a pocket dimension
Slimey Tube well he can befriend his enemies
I love your Creepy Bad Endings series whoisthisgit. Thanks for making videos. Please keep making more.
Meta Knight said he would "end Dream Land's lazy lifestyle". He would be a very good king. Also, Dedede is only a self-proclaimed king.
Waddle Derp
I've feeling Sportacus Vibe from what you just commenting.
uh
@@denpadolt9242I always interpreted this as meta knight being some sort of dictator
Kirby....
You know, for kids?....
kind of?
There's so much dark and disturbing crap in the Kirby Series, you could probably make a hour-long Creepy Moments special just talking about them. My favorite creepy moment is when President Hallmann from Planet Robobot, you know, GETS HIS FUCKING SOUL INTERGRATED INTO AN A.I AND BECOMES A MACHINE THAT WANTS TO DESTROY EVERYTHING AND EVENTUALLY LITERALLY GOES INSANE
i think Kirby is a pretty cool guy. eh destroys a guy's airship BY HIMSELF and doesn't afraid of anything...or something.
and he literally sucks up people into a different universe for them to just slowly die
Christopher Jackson I
Plot twist: The good ending requirement tasks were propaganda created by the National Plant Board persuading people not to step on flowers
Anna Ackers But you step on flowers and leave mushrooms alone for one of those tasks...
Yee
This originally happened in Kirby's Dream Land 2 if you don't collect all the rainbow drops.
The Creepy Glare the pixie girl gives in Crystal shards if you fail to get all the crystals was plenty freaky
True.
I never liked how they put the question mark at "The End" I say this because what if there was a game with no alternate endings, and it says "The End?" I say this because it could make the player do a whole bunch of crap just because of an ending that was actually hinting at a sequel or something, and not a bad ending
11:26 How does a game with blood be rated E?! That's creepy!
There wasn't any over rating available apparently at the time.
fourtyseven this was launch in 1997 in snes but the rated come in 1994 so actually have rated e with blood
Cartoon blood is I think rated e thing
Has Dedede been playing with the Quija board
Weege borad?
wedgie board?
Wegy board?
Gregnant?
Now imagine if Kirby's Return to Dreamland had a bad ending.
I never understand the Kirby plot. Why do King Dedede, Metaknight and Kirby sometimes work together and somethimes not? Do they have a split personality? The spear Waddle Dee from Kirby´s return to Dreamland even kills many other Waddle Dees and they try to kill him.

Perfect example of this is the Waddle dee from Crystal shards
Adsknitter o
They can't make up there f*ckin minds
More confusing why is sometimes meta knight a good guy or sometimes wanting to take over the world?
Love the detail you put into making this!
i love your videos, its hard to find a youtuber who makes videos about videogame curiosities, bad endings, easter eggs, etc...........and you sir are a badass at creepy bad endings, and i am just another new suscriber.
Always happy to see new videos from you.
Git, can you make a bad ending video for Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards?
It's like they for Kirby 64 too! If you don't get all of the crystals, the queen chick and the fairy will wave good bye, but the queen will smirk evilly. If you get them all, you get to kill cactus butt :3
Pfft, "cactus butt". XD That pun is 02/2. See what I did there?
In the video "Mecha Mighty" the ending is exactly like this one.Sonic lands,he sees the Death Egg plummet into the ocean, and he runs while the credits roll.
The bleeding eyeball of the final boss chasing you about in its final death throes. Y'know, for kids!
Never played it, but it's been requested many, many times.
Weird game. What I learned is, Kirby games are very... Weird.
By the way, kinda sarcastic to call an exploding rocket "Apolo"... ;>
WOW...true😂
kirby 64 has a bad ending almost exactly the same as kirby 3
The music you found calm always makes me sad, epically in the game "King DeDe's return" (Sorry if I messed up it's been a long time since I've played a Kirby game) because he looks so sad losing again and I believe losing his castle which was his home.
After watching this I accidently called my dog Kasey Kirby
Did Dream Land 3 take a page out of 8-bit Sonic 2's playbook for that bad ending?
Oh, I've been really waiting for this one.
I have a little piece of theory about that "Hyper Zone" thing. Yep the cute stuff makes your guard against creepy stuff go away and it has more effect your totally right
The "Game Over" screen on Kirby Mass Attack was creepy enough: he actually dies in it!
Thought You will put the kirby 64 one With the possesed fairy
Well the Kirby games are about defending your dreams from nightmares so it seems necessary to have nightmare fuel
I'm just surprised that you did one on Kirby bad endings and didn't show Kirby 64's imperfect ending.
Man, was that creepy...
As Bobgoober said, not to mention ESRB's ratings are usually based on the general nature of the game, many kid friendly games will have some kind of innuendo or mature theme hidden in later stages however. Man, even before the bad ending Kirby always kinda creeped me out a bit. Mariel, Peloo, Scarfy...*shudder* all of 'em gave me the willies as a kid.
what about marx soul? you should do a video on him, also one on the creepy music that plays in kirby and the crystal stars on world 6 level 2
>:3 And they say Kirby's tone-deaf...
The Kirby series always had scares in it, going as far back as the first game when you tried to inhale a scarfy.
+whoisthisgit
If you want to see a frightening boss, then get to the final boss in The True Arena in Super Star Ultra.
And MAYBE turn the sound up when you defeat it.
Chromaffinity Hailfire who is it
It'd spoil a lot out of the game if I said anything.
Donovin Perez Marx Soul
*SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!*
The escape from Meta Knight's ship was the best part of the whole minigame for me.
8:18 'Lou- *LOOOUD*'
Considering the music, I thought it was perfect for such a fast paced game
your comment about the "hurry up or you're gonna die" sequence reminds me of Megaman X3 after fighting Vile. if I recall correctly, that's the only timed escape sequence in the series. plus, I know there are "bad" endings throughout the Megaman X series. have you considered doing a video on those? great vids btw!
Zero: the ultimate reminder that even in a world as idyllic as whatever galaxy contains Popstar, there can still be true evil.
the escape was my favorite part of the revenge of meta knight.
The entire Kirby Dreamland timeline deserves its own part in your series, Dreamland 2, 3, 64
I remember having such a hard time during this. The time and all the buttons got to me. damn enemies.
omg someone else that played that game?! I loved the Drawn to Life series, and the ending to the sequel pissed me off so much, I still rage over that more than the ending to Mass Effect 3
4:07 My God! You made me all nervous for nothing! x)
almost every Kirby game has a scary moment
Hey Whoisthisgit, do you think you might one day do one of these on heavy rain?
I forgot how great this game's music is.
Kirby Dream Land 2 is where the Zero arc began.
Actually if you run out of time on meta knights ship and you run out of lives the ship you're still on crashes into the water
His scream when you kill him
At least Kind Dedede isn't possessed as much as Bowser in the M&L series.
When the iris popped out of the eye, my only reaction was JESUS!
Then again Kirby fights demons from the depths of hell it self
And then Zero came back as an angel.
In Kirby 64, fail to get all crystal shards and the heroes will have already left by the time it's shown the Queen Fairy is possessed. No one is there to save Ribbon...
8:16 not exactly everything is happy!
Look at that enemy! Dekabu. That's SCAARY
What the heck is that a giant FREAKING FLOATING EYEBALL
The ending is the Dark Matter being sent off into the distance, Kirby and co. heading home, and the Ripple Star Queen looking at the you with a creepy smile on her face. Just a typical bad ending where you don't particularly see bad things happening. I don't see where the scare came in. Honestly, what scared me more was that, spoiler alert, she had the entire Hyper Zone inside of her.
Kirby 64 has sure bad ending If you defeat 02 without collecting ALL crystal shards.
You should do a creepy bad ending for braid
index picture for video: the boss fight that has some demon thingie in it. K.
11:59 Are these..... THE POWERPUFF GIRLS?!!?
Salem Bugshan Those were Pop Star's rings
Seeing Dark Matter in the sky at the end of KDL3 makes me go "SHIT. D:"
nothing about kirby 64?
we need zero two
TheGamerManDudeGuy that boss sucked
Do a video on N64's Rare's game over screens. Most of them can be classified as bad endings.
You should do Shining Force for Sega. To me knowledge it has only one ending, but it's pretty grim, until you get to the end of the credits.
They both were already done, but man they gave me nighmares. 0_0
Was that taken away from the US version because of that reason or what?😶
Hence why he appeared again, as Zero two
The best time you can complete that ending sequence in Revenge of Meta-Knight is 14 seconds.
Whoisthisgit, have you ever heard of the two games Uninvited and Shadowgate? They are old games for the computer and NES/Famicom, and they have a lot of bad endings and wrong turns you can get into.
I remember this game, my brother said that Gooey is a dark matter but blue.
Doesn't anyone think that batam on looks like a possessed Kirby?
Notice that the Castle where King Dedede is fought, doesn't already look normal, 👁 see *YOU!*
I'm surprised you didn't put Kirby and the Crystal Stars here.
i really hate the part that have time in the revenge of meta knight like ''WHY WE STILL HAVE THE TIMER IN BOSS BATTLES?!'',When i get a bad ending in kirby dreamland 3 and the crystal shards, for a weird reason that evil stare totally gets to me that make me love the dark matter like i'm hypnotized or somethin o-o,but meh i always love the dark matter either way :D

Meta Knight moves like a freaking crab in KSS. XD
I think 02 in Kirby 64 is the coolest boss/enemy in the whole series. The music that plays is cool too, my favorite on the music CD that came with my Kirby Dream Collection for Wii. you could have given a special mention to Kirby 64.it has a bad ending.and it kind of creeped me out.
