I always imagined that a deadly mushroom wouldn't taste very nice in the first place. You have demonstrated that these mushrooms can actually taste okay and as long as I spit and rinse the mushroom out of my mouth, I will be alright. That doesn't mean that I'm going to be tasting every mushroom that I find. Thanks for the education Iona...
Amanita Muscaria and Pantherina taste very savory, almost a Worcestershire sauce. Actually scientists went with MSG instead of muscimol as a flavor enhancer. Fun fact: MSG can actually be converted to GHB using yeast. I don't recommend anyone ingest any amanita, it's not a genus you want to screw up.
Why show yourself tasting something that you know to be a dangerous amanita, and which you can teach in other ways? What's the advantage of tasting it that outweighs the danger of accidental ingestion? I understand the bitter bolete one because the danger is low and the taste might be a useful differentiating factor. I'm really struggling to see why it's responsible here.
You forgot to say it smells sweet as shit to and you encouraged me to eat it and spit it out just becareful bc a small dose the size of a pill can kill you

Is botulism a concern with taste and spit?
Always risk involved.

Looks delicious
It is not bad, I can see how they get eaten. Certainly wouldn't want to swallow though!

That was definitely not the result of smelling the mushroom. Just an unfortunate coincidence...
Uhmm, yeah...definitely not related! That is not how mycotoxins work.
