    Wanted to say this was a great video! I’m in the market for a new car and I’m really leaning towards a CX-5. Funny enough I live in Lexington so maybe I’ll go to Paul Miller and test drive one! Thanks for the review!

    For the money, this is really nice small SUV with amenities you wouldn't expect to see in this class. I'm not partial to the location of the touch screen but it's great having a control knob on the console.

    Interesting. You caught an undocumented tweak for 2018: Auto Down on all 4 windows. On my loaded 2017, it is only Auto up/down on the drivers window.

    Great video and thorough run through of the car!
    I just test drove the car and it was a HUGE disappointment. Before test driving it I was almost certain I was going to walk out with it; but boy was I wrong. The inside is so tiny and there were not many features to begin with! I'd rather have a sedan then this thing. I was adamant on not financing another Honda but this car doesn't hold a candle to the Honda CRV. The CRV is amazing with wonderful features, so much space and much more comfortable seats. I'm so glad I made the right choice.

      New crv has that crappy CVT transmission. The gt with $1300 premium package more Than the crv dreamt of. Interior and exterior design and quality blow the completion away. Mazda seats get even more comfortable with use (like leather shoes). Yes Crv gives a little more space if that’s most important for you. We got a free lifetime power train warranty on ours. We love ours sooo much

    I like the interior except for the placement of the touchscreen. It just sticks up from the dash and that makes it look small. It also seems like it might be more of a stretch to access than if it was right in the dash like other cars. It looks like they wanted to make it a popup screen, but forgot to add the functionality.

    I just checked out your video for CX5, CRV, RAV4, and Rogue! Really good videos! But I still can't decide...
    I am about to buy a compact SUV, and considering between CX5, CRV, RAV4, and maybe even Rogue.
    I went to check out the CX5 yesterday, the touring model. Everything is awesome, the style, the test drive, and the interior/exterior. But I was disappointed by the leg room for the back seats, it's literally impossible to sit a person in the middle with the high hump. Right now I am driving a rented RAV4 2016 and the back seat is more spacious than CX5.
    In the next few days I will be checking out the CRV and RAV4.
    I know it all depends on your preference and what you are looking for.
    Just curious which of these SUVs would you choose based on your personal preference? (mid class trim or lower) and the main reason?
    I am looking for comfort, safety tech features, seating and cargo spaces, which one would be the better one for me? (budget concern, so I am considering no more than the mid class trim for all of them)
    Thanks in advance for any kind of opinions, it would help me a lot!

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  6 років тому +3

      Jason Hong Thanks! Yeah it really does have a lot to do with personal preference since they are all competitive products. Our personal favorite is the CX-5 because it delivers with such a refined cabin even in the middle Touring trim. We also really like the CR-V which is a little less stylish but has the best space of between the four choices. You are right to check them all out in person, it will help the decision greatly. Best of luck picking!

      Jason Hong Buy the Nissan “Rogue” 👍🏻 before buy any SUV, call your insurance company for rates for your insurance per month or year. In Canada the Honda CR-V is the cheapest one for insurance rates.

      My wife is going for the cx5 .. Safety is main. She will be dealing with slippery roads, so traction was a big concern. The cx5 traction is always working by the sensors to help tell road condition. So its on b4 you need it unlike the crv its on after it starts to slip. She now has a 2001 rav4 front wheel drive, 250000 miles on it. We looked at a few and it was down to CRV forester cx5. Storage was not that important but as long as we can safely transport our grandkids. All are nice and have pros and cons. But it came down to the passenger seat being comfy and most adjustable for me, Im 6ft and not thin.

    I’m a newbie in cars, fell in love with Mazda and I’ll be checking one out this Saturday. It’s 2018 Mazda CX-5 Grand touring and got 100k miles on it. The listing is $21K+. Is it advisable to buy it at that price with that mileage? Thanks 😊

    Enjoyed the review! I will be pulling the trigger on a CX-5 later this year because my 2002 Corolla is finally giving up on me... Coming from someone who has very little experience on those advanced car electronic, I am a bit concerned (some may say paranoid) to be honest... Would you recommend going with the base trim, and add a few desirable features? Or just go all out with a higher trim level? I am considering the Spots trim, and maybe add the i-Activesence package. What is your take? How are the quality of those extra features? Will those be headaches down the road? Thanks again for all the info!

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  6 років тому +1

      +James Wang The Sport with iActivSense package would probably be a good choice. That gives you all the modern safety systems but won't overwhelm you inside the cabin. I'm sure you noticed that the CX-5 is very well equipped at all levels.

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  6 років тому

      It should be soon. Our local dealer has around twenty 2018 CX-5's, so they are quite widespread at this point. A few weeks would be my estimate! And thanks for watching!

  • @StellarBlue1
    @StellarBlue1 6 років тому

    It is probably adequate, but four cylinders are just not enough for me. On a car this size, the four has to work fairly hard, regardless of its "skyactiv" technology. Perhaps if it were turbo or super charged, that could be the ticket. I want the diesel or at least 5 cylinders...

    • @StellarBlue1
      @StellarBlue1 6 років тому

      Maurice - There has not been a four cylinder in my experience that did not make me wish for just a bit more power. Not that you can't get the horsepower or performance out of four cylinders, I just like the increased, inherent smoothness or extra cylinders. Yes, there are some amazing, ass kicking four cylinder engines, and that is all good. But, my preference is (regardless of gas consumption) at least six cylinders, and better still, eight.

    Very comprehensive and thorough review. Well done. Unfortunately for me this Mazda is not to my liking. Interior styling turns me off, the engine choices are quite lame and the wheel design looks horrible to me. It seems to be a well built car though. I'll keep looking elsewhere.

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  6 років тому

      The CX-5 does not come standard with a remote start system on any trim level. The CR-V does give you that on EX trims and above, so that's something to consider when you are comparing at the two. Thanks for watching!

      Can't you do it from the app?

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  6 років тому +2

      @MikeBereck Correct. You may use something called "Mazda Mobile Start" to remote engine start your car from your smartphone, however, it has a $65 annual fee. Honda has the remote start on the fob itself (so it's free for life). Does that help?

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  6 років тому +1

      Mazda Mobile Start is an accessory that you can add to the CX-5 for $550. It does allow for remote start from the smartphone app, but its important to remember that it does have a yearly subscription fee. Hope this clears things up.
