I'm really happy that I found out who Santino was from this show rather than Frozen. I could watch Frozen if I cared, which I don't. But I could, but I don't. But I could if I wanted to.
im kinda happy that i discovered him from frozen! the minute prince hans sang i freakin fell in love with his voice lmao. if it weren't for him i wouldn't have found this show too :)
i'm late on the bandwagon i know but this song and its spoken word element made me really appreciate the songs in crazy ex-girlfriend as an art form when i initially thought they were lame hahaha. such a lonely island vibe too.
Hahaha I could TOTALLY see a Cake comparison! It also gives off vibes of groups like Weezer and Everclear, and a little bit of '90s rock one-hit wonder groups like Marcy Playground.
@Sarah Harper You know, I know guy who asked other guy to buy him new grissini after he broke one in half. And he's guy who consider "I'd rather die than..." not a thing you can't fix. He actually value anybody who intentionally dmg his possession less than free pencil. And for him if he had whole grissini than you broke it he can;t just eat 2 pieces. He need unbroken one. P.S. Actually it's exaggeration, he probably wouldn't care about food as its temporary possession, but it you break sth you probably can glue together it's impossible for him. If you broke it he wouldn't like to have broken one, he want it untouched. If you think about it it's quite fair. If you break sth he has: 1. It may work worse 2. If he want to sell it there's no chance he will get same price for fixed one as for never-broken one. And why should he pay for your fault?
That part and where he yells "this song sucks!" make me LOL every single time I watch it. Now somebody's gonna have to buy a single banana and he doesn't even CARE.
@@tudoaomesmotempodenovo8341 It was actually planned from the start for him to leave the show. It's because after Rebecca goes through all of her therapy and changes, she sees Greg so differently that he seems like a literal different person to her.
I never understood why all the characters described Greg as being "angry". To me Greg actually seemed more bitter and spiteful than angry. He never was mad or angry but bitterly spiteful about having to be tied down in West Covina as a bartender because of his Dad and about constantly being over shadowed by a seemingly dumb high school friend in more ways than one (getting Rebecca, better family, enjoys life, etc). He seemed to have an angsty (emotional turmoil; painful sadness) personality rather than an angry(strong feeling of hostility or antagonism) one.
Yea angry is a more active feeling. Greg was bitter. He was much more passive and resigned to his fate, like a kid sitting in the corner at prom. He could dance if he wanted to, but not dancing saves him the embarrassment of potentially failing.
Just using the store named "Eyetailor" I looked up the street on google (Melrose & N Heliotrope Dr) and it's interesting just to notice the signs they either had to swap for filming or alter digitally, and trim tree branches. Seems like a standard streetscape but even with something like this a lot of work goes into the production.
Rogue: Whoopty-friggin'-doo! Look at this bard guy, bonin' dragons and raising flagons. Buying and selling caravan wagons to other guys with wagons who are probably secretly dragons with enough gold to buy like a million bards with golden flagons. I'd rather launch myself out of a cannon, which I might, at some point. But in the meantime, I could bone dragons and sell wagons. If I tried. But I don't. But I could. But I don't! But I could if I wanted to, yeah!
This is one of the most brilliant songs in the whole show. It so neatly encapsulates a coping style that is so damaging and SO familiar. Add the meaning of the lyrics with some of the most impressive, try-hard camerawork in the whole show and you hit a totally new level of irony.
I've got to begrudgingly admit doing that song in a single continuous take is pretty impressive. Including being in position to do the various bits on time, and no background extra gawking into the camera during filming. Bloom mentioned that to film that the cameraman had to walk backwards during the whole scene, she gave a shout-out to steadicam operator Neil.
+Mike Duplessis Funny, I never thought of that. Just took it for granted as I watched it without thinking about how difficult it must be. But I am curious - why are you admitting it begrudgingly? Don't like the song?
I just love how they handled Greg in this season. That attitude of sarcasm and pretending not to care, as a way to protect yourself from getting hurt, will only further isolate you from the things and people you really care about. It's the exact reason Greg ended up messing up with Rebecca - he let his insecurity stop him from making a connection with her.
It's spelled: Whoop Dee Freakin' Doo. Not that I care how it's spelled, or is it spelt? I could figure it out if I cared, but I don't, so I won't. BUT I COULD IF I WANTED TOOoooYEAH. I could if I wanted to. ... I'm an idiot.

yr! What an image. It's so pointless. It's little children ripping off insects' legs. But in this case, by a gown-up. This reveals an urge to create disorder, destroy what resembles harmony. It's driven by disgust of their own place in the world... O yea, I think I got it. It's been pointed at several times in the show that Greg can be a very horrible person.
It's not nihilism in the slightest, he's just lying to himself about his own abilities and excusing his lack of concentration and effort he puts into things, as we all do.
This is also the anthem of gifted kids in burn-out who gave up on trying to get good grades in fear of everyone finding out that they've always been a fraud lol. Like, not even attempting because if I give it my all and fail, turns out I'm an idiot and a disappointment for everyone, so it's better to safely hide behind the "i could if i wanted to, but I don't want to" excuse
He is so normal. Santino’s is just like your normally good looking next door neighbor type. He is hot but not Hollywood hot. That’s what makes him so special.
This song is Greg lashing out on his own anger cause he is always felt he got the short end of the stick but heather always says he uses that as an exscuse
The meaning behind Greg separating one banana from the bunch: Greg is bitter and resentful of his perceived failure to progress in life, his lack of significance, of impact. He is jealous of others who achieve more, through their motivation to actually make any effort, to try--always too hard, in his view. He can't reconcile his desire for success and inability to realize it, so he takes an easier route to having an impact: spoil things for others. Whether it's spoiling a perfect bunch of bananas, or letting a lone banana spoil because everyone wants a bunch.
+jasobres I agree. One telling mistake: the cars stop driving down the road about halfway through the song. Still, it's technically very impressive, like so much about this show.
Where have i been???. Discovered this show recently and straight up binge watched all 4 seasons. This was my best song of all the shows, golden glitter et al. Couldn't quite get into new Greg, Sorry. Hope there is a season 5.Excellent show with real laugh out moments. Great job
Unfortunately, there won't be a 5th season: the story was always planned to end at 4, and it's a miracle and a half that it got that far with the ratings it has!
Yeah and then he went out with 'It was a shit show' where, again, his voice is just... Gah. Perfect doesn't cover it. It's just so smooth and rich, damn. Just another reason why I was so upset when he left. :'( Crazy ex definitely lost its best male singer by a long shot that day.
