The tone of the music and the way the film was portrayed made this edit as perfect as possible. Truly a work of art. I've been watching this for more than five times and thank you very much for making this.
The part where the billboard AI calls him Joe was when he came to the realization that not only was his relationship with the JOI just a simple AI/program that mimics human emotion but, the moment when he still thought he was real and had an intimate conversation where she names him Joe, was such basic coding even the billboard says it. He thought atleast maybe the time and conversations he spent with the AI, maybe it got to know him and actually had a personal thought but rather it was part of the basic personality package.
@@bladerunner9531 Jois are designed to adapt to the clients life, as K and his joi created a relation, but some functions are programmed to every joi, when she tried to name him joe in the beginning, he didn’t understand much but now he sees every joi names their replicant partner joe, because they don’t have a name, and joe is the standard equivalent for joi, anyways, his joi was indeed special.

In a way it’s ironic she does that, even though we as real humans call K “K” after his serial number, KD6-3.7. Are we any different? If Joe was human does that make Joi human in the emotional sense of the word? To die for the right cause is the most human thing we can do, and that’s exactly what Joi did when she was killed by Luv.

You can certainly feel loved but it doesn’t feel as authentic. Humans argue, disagree and fight. Ai’s will supposedly obey in a relationship and if you somehow create a system of dynamic personalities it still might not feel real. You have to actually try in a human relationship whereas Joi will automatically abide to your life and stick to your own program.
His moment of realization is just gut wrenching he realizes the thing he cared about and made him feel human was nothing more then ai that anyone can use not special to him at all

I found it to be his acknowledgement that the connection he had with his joi couldn't just be replicated by something that looks and sounds like what he loved. Its like you know.. being in love with someone from your past but then seeing them again in the future and not having the same feelings you had when you were first together.
Deckard asks k after hes saved “Who am i to you?” and all K replies with is a warm smile. I wonder if that question would apply to Joi, why she would be by K side. The real answer is nothing, because shes assigned to and because K is a Bladerunner that protects people by retiring other replicants. It’s very open ended and up to interpretation.
I'm usually really critical of edits. As someone who's grown up around people who edit pretty frequently (not myself), I've learnt to love and look into how editing creates or enhances narrative, and honestly this is one of my favourite edits of anything. I've seen this so many times now, you couldn't sum up the movie any better. I'm blown away you did it in under 30 seconds. Kudos.

All one can presume is that his actions afterwards proves his thinking. If he can’t save Joi then he can at least save Deckard and his life, with the exception of his, he became human just hoping he can be in the same place where his Joi is.
Gawd people don’t appreciate Ryan goslings facial expressions. It might seem bland and all. But it really just tones down this film, human or not human. Thank goodness I was alive during Ryan gosling era
