Kiki played at my venue, a smaller venue than she is used to, and she was one of the loveliest musicians I've ever had the pleasure to work with. So accommodating, so humble and so very kind. Bless her beautiful bits XxX
I was at Dodger Stadium. Loved seeing her there! I only wish I could see her live shows. But here in Alabama usa I'm afraid I won't ever get that opportunity. U am a Kiki fan since 1974. Rock on Kiki!
The most profound thing when someone makes music is not about their own greatness, but is summed up in the "American Pie" lyric, "And maybe they'd be happy for a while". Being able to bring joy to others making sound is greatly rewarding. I think she gets that.
She still looks fabulous after all these years. I saw her with Elton at Madison Squaw Garden in the 1970’s. It was one of my first concert experiences. I have very fond memories.❤
Can't believe Elton didn't invite Kiki Dee to join him on stage at Glastonbury. What a cheek. Instead we saw someone I've never heard of before dressed in a bikini that didn't come close to singing the song as good as Kiki. Very angry.
A delightful interview, lovely ladies. Kiki Dee, your Mom's gentle kindness is reflected through you as you share your songs, stories, and heart with us this day. 💝
What a lovely interview by Angela. Listened to Kiki's answers to her questions. A lesson for all interviewers. Seen Kiki live a couple of times & she's a great performer.
I've got to say rubbish. Angela's questions were all there from the beginning and took no notice of Kiki's answers. Angela even had to look at notes most of the time. Made Kiki wonder what the F was coming next! Credit to Kiki for making this bearable. BTW, I am a big Kiki Dee fan but this shows Angela in such a bad light.
I've though she was a lovely generous person for some time, and this interview proves it again. Completely grounded, I hope she has continued great success and enjoys every day doing what she likes.
She says she was shy. I can vouch for that. I was once at a party in Beckside Road, Lidget Green, Bradford and Kiki (Pauline Matthews as she was then) was asked to sing for us. No amount of persuading would coax her to sing. Sop shy!
Such an excellent interview with Kiki and Angela. Kiki Dee, your Mom's gentle kindness is revealed through you as you share your songs, life stories, and heart with us this day.💝
See 18 yr old Kiki sing Small Town in a clip from the film Dateline Diamonds, also backed up Dusty along with Lesley Duncan and Madeline Bell, see Dusty Springfield NME winners concert 1966, both on here. Incidentally Kiki wrote Sugar On The Floor, and Lesley wrote Love Song, both covered by Elton.
Very underrated is Kiki Dee (real name Pauline Matthews) She released eleven UK singles from 1964-1968 on the Fontana record label and even a single on Tamla Motown in 1970 - None of these singles did anything chart-wise. It wasn't until 1973 when she signed with Elton Johns Rocket record label and scored her first UK hit with Amoureuse which made No 13, then the following year she had a follow-up hit I've Got The Music In Me which made No 19 in 1974. In 1975, she scored a minor UK hit with an updated version of a single she originally released in 1964 called You Don't Know (How Glad I Am) which made UK No 33. In 1976, she would of course have her only UK No 1 duetting with Elton on Don't Go Breaking My Heart. In early 1977, she would have her last hit of the 70s with First Thing In The Morning reaching UK No 32. In 1981, she scored her first UK Top 20 in seven years (not counting the infamous Elton duet) with Star, making UK No 13 - A follow-up single Perfect Timing only reached a lowly No 66 the same year. It would then be another 12 years before she had another UK hit duetting once again with Elton and scoring a No 2 UK hit with a version of the Bing Crosby/Grace Kelly song True Love in 1993.
I Love KiKi's Voice. Inspired me at a young age, There's something about her voice, She can melt your heart, or rock with the best of them. Of course she's not the greatest of all time, Nobody Is, it's Art not a Competition.
We learned her follow up single to I've Got The Music - How Glad I Am. The record never sold much but when we played the song the crowd really liked it.
It still makes me wonder why she didn't have hits in the 60's, she released some really great singles. Stop And Think is just one. Also Elton Elton Elton 🙄
Wow amazing Kiki Dee still around at the age of 76 and Angela as well age 80 years old both ladies looking very elegant
Kiki Dee ! ❤ She looks absolutely Fabulous !! Love her ! Wonderful Music ! ❤❤❤❤
Love Kiki Dee. Don't hear enough of her.

Is she related to Pippa Dee or Kiki from Hector's House.
Kiki Dee is one of the UK’s greatest female artists.
A total legend ❤
Dead right
Still as gorgeous as ever.

omg kiki i love her she was and is brilliant one of the best soul voices this country has ever produced 🇬🇧
Criminally underrated singer. Fantastic soulful voice. Pure talent.
Yup. If there hadn't already been a Dusty Springfield, Kiki Dee would have filled the ecological gap perfectly.
wonderful interview, a wonderful woman. all the best Kiki
It should have been Kiki Dee with Elton at Glastonbury.
Agree,I would have watched it if Kiki was there.
She still looks fabulous after all these years. I saw her with Elton at Madison Squaw Garden in the 1970’s. It was one of my first concert experiences. I have very fond memories.❤
Am Dill Dannin'🎵🎵

He's invited her on stage many times, he also invested a fortune in her career and produced one of her best albums.
Loved this interview. Two ladies we need to see and hear more from.
She looks fantastic!
Pauline Matthews from Bradford is now 76.
A delightful interview, lovely ladies. Kiki Dee, your Mom's gentle kindness is reflected through you as you share your songs, stories, and heart with us this day. 💝
Yeah shout out from Bradford 👍👍❤🇬🇧
Should be Dame Kiki Dee and in the hall of fame

@@steve_dangerous It wasn't that bad steve, she got stuff out of Kiki that I've not heard before. And I am also a big fan.
Kiki is so amazingly down to earth - true star
Kiki should have sung at Glasto. What was Elton thinking? Love the Kiki and Carmello shows.💥🎶🎼🎵💥
Beautiful singer
Hard to believe Angela Rippon is nearly 80. She looks so strong and much younger.
Angela does 20 reps with 100kg every morning.
Kiki looks great !
I've though she was a lovely generous person for some time, and this interview proves it again. Completely grounded, I hope she has continued great success and enjoys every day doing what she likes.
Saw Kiki a month ago at the Cropredy festival. She's still got that great voice, lovely woman.
Lovin’ and Free ~ One of the most beautiful songs ever imo. Love u Miss Kiki💙
I like your handle name kind of like mine!
Angela had a really good chat with Kiki, lots of interesting questions, and honest answers !
Yeah! A well grounded Yorkshire lass.
Saw Kiki in Bristol perform last year she was brilliant.
So much energy, Kiki. one of the 1976 performances from MSG of I've Got the Music in Me brought me to tears for the times that they were.
....Kiki looks great...😊
Is she the one who’s been warning us to not go breaking her heart for 47 years?
She says she was shy. I can vouch for that. I was once at a party in Beckside Road, Lidget Green, Bradford and Kiki (Pauline Matthews as she was then) was asked to sing for us. No amount of persuading would coax her to sing. Sop shy!
Saw her at The Plough Torrington last year. A true legend.
National treasure our Kiki
Always followed her musical career ,even though sometimes there were large gaps between new records.
Saw her with Elton at Hammersmith Odeon in late 70's
Brilliant Iconic star 100% . Belongs to the greats.
Estoy enamorado, tarde, de la Kiki. Tiene algo que no sé qué es pero me encanta, bastante.
Such an excellent interview with Kiki and Angela. Kiki Dee, your Mom's gentle kindness is revealed through you as you share your songs, life stories, and heart with us this day.💝
There's also a wonderful song about her father, Here For All Time

Gosh, she's still gorgeous 😊
Our best female vocalist. In my opinion.

Love Kiki Dee!
Check out her singing “ I am Gonna Run Away from You “ the track was released in 1966 it’s mind blowing. Great footage from French Television.
It still makes me wonder why she didn't have hits in the 60's, she released some really great singles. Stop And Think is just one. Also Elton Elton Elton 🙄
Never knew she was so far right!
She isn't, she's absolutely right, as is anyone who isn't far-left.
@@christinalayzelle832 Far out and Far right! 😉🤘
@@djdoolittle1315 Yep. Both good.
@@christinalayzelle832 not really my cup of tea. I don’t do death camps 😔
I imagine anyone who’s been indoctrinated with communism would view anyone not a fellow communist as being “far right”.🤣😂🤡
Love her music.
Love you Kiki. 😊
Diva ❤
Such a distinctive voice, listen to Everlasting Love by Love Affair.
Loved her song Amoreuse.

CHECK OUT THE SONG:
'Child of Love' by We The Kingdom from 2020. It sounds very similiar to 'I've Got The Music In Me' by Kiki Dee.
She's still on a Magic Carpet Ride
Kiki Dee charming ,met Rippin in a pub some years ago and said how I liked her on to she was very condescending,up herself!
Angela rippen forgot to mention the song star
ONLY HAD 3 SONGS OUT ???
Angela Rippon OTT as usual - it must be the BBC training.
das my baby
wtf are you appearing on this far-right channel?
Kiki Kiki Dee is a stage name. She has a very plain English name.
