Katie, who says women are weak? They don’t know you as you are a jump in there and get the job done lady. You and your man make a great team. This is a part of your videos that I really enjoy, teamwork. See you guys on your next video, take care.
Katie you are one of the hardest working women on you tube and I commend you for your guts and attitude of getting it done !!! nothing in life is easy or cheap and you certainly are putting in the work !!! Congratulation on being a hard worker !!! I admire your grit !!!
Katie, I hate safety goggles also but I wear them using certain things. A nail gun is one of them. My friend that I work with had a nail bounce and stick right in his eyeball. They didn’t think they were going to be able to save it but he went to a specialist and they did. I would hate to see you lose your eye. I love your channel by the way, you guys are hard-working
Helping hands make light work or large tasks. Maybe I missed the introduction, but who are the helpers you have? You had an older guy helping build the woodshed, and now a couple and another man. By the way, that is one beautiful looking Shepherd. I miss mine. Also, what happened to your black dog? I saw him in a around the time you got the pup, but not since then.
Now you need to build another wood shed and start filling it for next year! In fact should have 2 more, firewood ought to season for 2 years before burning
master of Daster here lol hey next use the trap as a insaulation all around the sides over head first burrier of waterprotection. fold or cut tarp to approahly fit shed next insualtatio n at a dis counmt
Wow, you guys never seem to have a dull moment or time for much relaxation. One thing you guys need to try and invest in is a wood splitter for your firewood. I know they're not real cheap, but would sure save a lot of back breaking work. I used to split all my firewood by hand until the neighbor brought his splitter over the last couple of years I lived on the farm. Wow what a labor saving device they are. Don't work too hard you guys.
So good to see you two and your sister and Jeremy and Aloke working together. And Daryl. Also good to see the goats, Willow, Juniper, Hinto and Buddy all happy and even though I miss her face I could hear Nooka screech-barking in the background.
Not to take away from this young lady put there are a lot of very hard-working women out there that are prepping and trying with everything that is within them. Any man who has a hard-working mate house partner whatever is blessed.
AWSOME job on that wood pile. And Thank You to your Helpers ! Winters right around the corner , very soon it will be knocking at the back door. Brrrrrrrr🌬💨💨💨💨💨💨💨❄️❄️
Hi Greg. Good news to get a wood shed built! Katie will be thrilled. Oh … hi fur babies!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻Blessings So glad you had all the extra help to get the wood put up!!
That was a great shot of you on top of the wood shed, Katie. And then Juniper laying into Greg’s hand while petting her when he laid with her on the tarp! Omg, so sweet and adorable. Y’all!! The shed looks great and I’m glad y’all had some help. Feels good to have it put up, huh? Love y’all!! Love the animals and glad the goats got out to play!!! Take care:)) Edit for Katie’s name:))
The shed looks great and very neat. Great to see all the animals. Big job done but worth it. Winter time you are going to enjoy the shed and wood cut packed ready to warm your house. Greetings from South Africa. 💞🏡
What happened to stabilizing the soil before laying the pallets??. And then, If you had put the pallets on some beams that lay on some rocks they would not be in contact with the soil and therefore not rot.
Y’all definitely put in the work for sure. The results were great. Protected, organized, neat,& drying wood. All stacked in the Woodshed made by Katie,& Greg. Nice that you had help from friends. Definitely time saved. Well done everybody!! Looking forward to the next project.💯❤️👍🏾😀🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
Once you have a wood stove, even before if you are planning on heating with wood, you really need a wood shed. I started collecting, sawing, chopping and stacking wood years before I even got my wood stove! So nice seeing both of you working so well together!
SO AWESOME!!!, AND GLAD TO SEE YOU BOTH WEARING THEM GLOVES!!!, I CANT TELL YOU HOW MANY PAIRS I HAVE WORN HOLES THROUGH, INSTEAD OF MY HANDS. WELL DONE!! KATIE BE THROWIN THAT LUMBER LIKE A BOSS NOW...LOLOL.
Katie & Greg, you both are fantastic role models. Not only do you keep on going, you take time to do things the correct way. Katie, you work as hard as any man and retain your femininity. Thank you both and may God continue to bless you. 🙏
Kattie you are a ten. Greg is fortunite to have you. Hope you can begin to enjoy each other and your home and dogs, goats and chickens. Work is never done but maybe more time to enjoy.
Katie You Are A Wonder Woman You Get The Job Done That's What Makes A Homestead Work Is A Couple That Work's Together Have A Blessed Weekend Much Love From Portland Indiana
That will be nice having a place for your wood and giving you a lot of extra space. Pallets come in handy for a lot of things. How nice to have help putting all the wood in the shelter 🥰.
You've got all that Doug Fir around. Put some on the mill and rip some 1x6s and install them on 10" centers horizontally to contain the wood. I picked up rough sawn 1x6's from a local sawmill and did that inside my Versatube carport. My carport is 20' wide so I put up a vertical partition in the middle. That way I can store a winters worth of wood on one half and start the next winters in the other half.
Great work everyone. Sore shoulders are what convinced me we needed a splitter. Glad you have such a nice dry place to store the wood now. Goodbye blue tarp.
Wow! Katie. That was a lot of wood. But you guys need to buy a real ax. The one you were using is too lightweight to do what you were doing. That's why you were having such a difficult time. That wood is dense and requires a heavier and sharper ax head to make it easier to cut. Either way, you did a man-sized job, girl! Reggie
Katie good work.. I know how hard that chopping can be. I also do my own wood... Greg is such a lovely hij.. as he smiles.... And he is a good vuiler. Tkx for sharing i enjoy it
NICE JOB GUYS ‼️ COME WINTER WHEN SNOW IS ON THE GROUND IT WILL BE NICE TO PICK FIREWOOD FROM YOUR SHE'D RATHER THAN FROM UNDER A SNOW COVERED TAUP. YOU PUT THAT TOGETHER FAST, CONGRATS TO A MUCH NEEDED ADDITION TO YOUR HOMESTEAD ‼️‼️ Vinny 🇺🇸
Hi Katie and Greg I know that it's only a roof on a woodshed however it is still a good idea to put 5he screws holding down the steel in the raised ribs. The water flows down the flats or valleys between the ribs. Hence the reason to put longer screws in the ribs above water access. Yes those screws would have lead washers on them to help the seal. As a long time builders "assistant" it's hard not to try to provide guidance. The woodshed will be years ahead of the blue tarp under the snow. Have a great day in the Kootenay s Tom at the NB-NS border.
Yes, I noticed that too. My sheet-metal friend told me the same thing you said about where to place your screws. But hey, this is just a wood shed and another learning experience too.
Even little jobs are big jobs and make life so much easier in the long run. It looks amazing and you guys knocked that out quickly!! Always good to see you guys and I hope that you have a great week! ❤
Consider not putting siding on the walls. Extend the roof out 2’ son every side. Put 1x girders around the side on 12” centers. This will allow air to get through and critters are less likely to move in. 😊 I did it this way for years and it worked great. Always go bigger. 16’ x 16’ is a good size along with the height you have. 😊
You were sitting on that chemical tote inside a metal cage. You can cut a V section out of one side of the cage (wire cages work much better), each will hold one rick of wood. Place several of these side by side and build a roof over them. Each can be moved full or empty with your tractor. Just a neat idea I saw somewhere.
Thanks for sharing guys. The wood shed is awesome and i know its gonna be great in the winter. Fingers crossed we dont have a horrible winter. Your loyal viewer in BC Canada....Sam
Make the doorway big enough so that you can get in with the front loader of the tractor, this will save you a lot of effort later when loading the shed.
If anyone deserves a hot tub after all that effort it's you Katey! Well done both. It's great to see you working with spare material you have around your place rather than spending time and money buying new stuff. How long will your wood stock last you during a typical winter?
Nice work! You guys are an inspiration... our off grid project is starting to take shape, though still at the planning stage [its quite difficult to do this type of project in the UK]... good luck with it all.
now when I was young I would have go up to the mountains and get wood that had to bring back in 8-foot logs and cut and split in wood for 3 homes they each got 4 cords a piece each summer so we be warm in the winter here in Montana
Looks good. but you may never use that wood in the back so in---The future stack wood to the sides so you can walk in. This way one season you work from one side then have the other side drying out and work from side to side just a thought
I found over the years if I had cables, wiring or tubing plumbing and hoses for AC's that wrapping in hardware cloth or layers of chicken wire keeps all the animals from chewing through them

A splitting log with a tire attached to the top would save so much bending over to pick up split pieces.....so worth a try.

Very good. YOU MUST DO THE SAME CARPORT FOR THE TRACTOR THE JEEP ÀS WELL. TOO PROTECT THEM IN WINTER, AND THE RAIN.
Nothing quite like a nice clean square edge cut onto a piece of weathered fir 2"x6". It's a beautiful thing!
I’ll say it again. Katie is incredible!!! You guys make me feel guilty for sitting on the couch doing nothing
Getting ready for winter, no searching underneath snow for your wood this year. ❤️🇬🇧
Y'all are just overwhelmed with trouble makers, lol...pets are so much fun

Funny... It was 5 years before we got our woodshed built here so you're right on target.. you beat us by a year I think if I remember right
Hello guys , tks for video. Nice woodshed. Bet ya had sore muscles after working with this....much love.....
The cut offs from milling would make good siding and kinda look like a log building. Leave a little gap for air to circulate. Looking good.
My same comment I have seen several people use the cut off for siding.
Billy
Oh good point! About air circulation
Nice shed guys!!👍👍💪💪

Well done!!!
When are you going to build a barn for the sawmill seems like a good idea to get it out of the weather
now when I was young I would have go up to the mountains and get wood that had to bring back in 8-foot logs and cut and split in wood for 3 homes they each got 4 cords a piece each summer so we be warm in the winter here in Montana

Good job you two. Look forward to the next thing😁❤️🇨🇦
I found over the years if I had cables, wiring or tubing plumbing and hoses for AC's that wrapping in hardware cloth or layers of chicken wire keeps all the animals from chewing through them
