War thunder is by far the best optimised VR flight sim, it really is a shame the gameplay isn't better and they don't lean into the sim side more because it's always felt amazing to fly in.
The new update on the dev server right now is going to add a humongous variety to rwrs - finally, stuff like the spo15 is going to be modeled as well as a lot of the digital rwrs becoming more realistic in terms of what sort of threats it can detect. Super excited for it
Last night I was actually flying the Swiss Hunter - I think VR might be what gets me back into WT properly because it’s much more suitable for it than DCS in terms of performance.
@@duffmangames6997 Been really enjoying it, already got footage for a Swiss Hunter and F-100 video, but since this one isn’t performing well I might have to space them out a bit with DCS uploads :(
@TheDAWinz Yeah, that’s fair - I was thinking that didn’t do great either but I guess that proves it’s not because it’s WarThunder. I am enjoying WarThunder in VR more than anything else right now… You’ve convinced me. (I think to convince myself 😅) More WarThunder coming up 👌🏼
@@nazradu Had a go in the 190A5 last night and it’s been so long since I flew a prop that I’ve completely lost the sense of what constitutes a safe speed to be at and what’s too slow. I did get a few nice shots off, but I also died more times than I killed anything which is bad for me. A few times was to flat spins which seemed to be unrecoverable too, opposite rudder, throttle off and nose down used to work but nothing I tried would break out of them now; hadn’t taken any damage either.
I love how the soviets decided that the best way to aim with the forward visibility of the mig-15 and mig-17 is pure vibes lol. Would love a nice f-117 chill video in the next update as a request haha (full raytracing to cook your pc for us)
@@Bullet4MyEnemy could be worth a fly with the boys in the discord just to mess around. Gonna have to wait a few months for everybody to unlock it though
@@Bullet4MyEnemy at its BR in GRB it'll be pretty interesting tbh its stealth is pretty effective (although against saclos you're sol). Raytracing in VR video would be cool though, even if its at 20 fps 😂The new graphics in general are cool, they're also doing alot to the cockpit RWRS so all the SPO series works correctly, the Gripen gets a new MFD RWR, the US rwrs display proper ui ect. And hey we'll finally get a supported F-15E LOL
I think that the F5-E would be a good plane to fly in VR for war thudner bc the radar is bad so no need to use it and just rely on rwr which most enemy jets (red jets) will use their radar :)
How to get those planes in WT? Last time I had a look, I had only some wwII planes available. There are some packs to buy I know, but I see nothing like the Gripen or the Jeff. What am I missing?
@@Cellinsky-2302 You just need to work through about 5 years of unlockable content, or pay to skip through it faster - scroll down a lot when checking the research trees for each nation
Genuinely surprising how good WT looks in VR, hopefully it only gets better with the new ABs and vapours they're adding.

IL-2 runs pretty well too honestly. And VTOL VR. It's only DCS and MSFS that are just absurdly demanding.

Also imagine using a targeting pod is pretty horrific in VR.

Just a note on the radar in the mig23s, they're overlaid in the HUD, so you don't need to look at the in-game UI unless its preferred.
You do if you use manual slew controls because that bit doesn’t carry over to the HUD.
