With it being the new year, I want to start off by thanking everyone who watched, shared, commented or subscribed because of this video. Before this video was even in the process of being made, being a youtuber had only been a dream of mine for years. I watched video after video for years taking mental notes from my favorite creator/drummers on how to become confident in my instrument, while inspiring and encouraging others around me. The result of this video not only inspired me to do that, but it also inspired me to step outside of my comfort zone more often. Everyday I wake up feeling like this has all been a dream. I’m so unexplainably greatful and blessed to be able to do what I do, and having people that support makes it all 10 times more worth it. I'm just an old white dude drummer and I have nothing against all the new tech and stuff, but nothing compares to a real musician playing a real instrument. Computers will never replace musicians as long as there are young people like you taking it seriously and learning your craft. You're a very talented drummer, sounds great, keep it up!

Apart from the skills that everyone commented on, I have to say the drums themselves sound great. To do that in a gymnasium is pretty impressive. Getting drums to sound good is a skill I wish I had.
This means a lot bro! I just recently started trusting myself to tune my drums! Piece of advice though, just go for it over and over until they sound how you want them to! You can only get better by trying!

I’m almost 50 years old and played trumpet in all the bands my school offered. We had a young man named Rodney that play the drums much like you. It was captivating to watch and listen to and I’ve never forgotten him or his talent on the set. I’m sure all the people you have watching and listening to you will feel the same 30+ after you have all graduated. Amazing talent and dedication you have thanks so much for sharing!

Computer add ons or not, the kid after improvising a bit always returns to the beat to hold it down. That’s the number one thing with bass, drums etc. I wish him a great career.

Damn right bro, I had a full ride to school as a percussionist, played in drum and bugle played the quints and snare, and played a 26 piece drum set for a band. I went to the Marine Corps instead and served 12 years as an Infantry Rifleman, I received a pretty serve brain injury my last deployment and can't get my hands and feet to operate independently the way I used to,so I got frustrated and quit for a while, but I have been practicing again here lately. My son and nephew have just started to begin percussion and I showed them this video and my sons eyes lit up, he had seen my videos but seeing you do it got him even more excited. Amazing job bro, you have a big big future and women love drummers, we are the wild ones hahaha keep doing what you are doing, it is amazing. You have put alot of time and dedication into your skill, can't wait to see you in the future

The tones you got from those...the tuning. Very impressive. I'm listening on my phones speaker but will follow up with some good headphones. I'm not gonna lie, the overall sound and crispness of playing and in that environment, I almost thought they might've been some kind of hybrid electric drums. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. 1st vid I've checked out...I'm gonna be sure to tune in to some others!👏👏👏👏👏

The grooves and your solo sounded amazing!! Especially doing quads on a single pedal in the fills you were doing!! I listen to Death Core and mostly Metal due to drumming and my love for it, but I can appreciate a talent from any genre and this song you were doing your solo to was also nice to go along with 🤝🔥

I'm 52, and we used to have "battle of the bands" every Friday night when I was in high school. No electronics - just musicians being musicians and competing to be "fan favorite". And they were so freaking good. This reminds me of that time so much - thank you for the flood of wonderful memories ❣️.
