Love this video. Didn't know about every 10 year changes. But I do remember my dad (a firefighter) always saying to change the batteries when you set the clocks forward and back. Easy to remember to do that when you do your clocks.

So happy to see this Video. In a house people have Smoke Alarms. Smoke Detectors are connected to a Fire Panel, usually in the common areas of a commercial building or apartment building. Its ok, everyone says Smoke Detectors. In some smoke alarms, after 10 years, it will start Chirping, which will drive you crazy until you change it out. I was very very impressed that you changed out your smoke alarms yourself. Well done. If people have a gas stove or a gas fire place it is good to have a
Smoke/carbon monoxide combo alarm. With this one video, you may have just saved many lives. Well done. Love your channel.

Did I count wrong or did you leave something out of the cocktail. You had 4 ingredients and the article headline said 5 ingredients. I found a recipe from Southern Living which had the 4 ingredients you had but also had lemon bitters. That might make a difference. Enjoy your trip! Sounds fantastic!

We didn’t know that either,till they went off at one in the morning. I called the fire department to be safe they came out didn’t find a fire but took down our smoke alarms and told us they needed replaced. I thought only the batteries needed replaced. Also our carbon monoxide detectors were up to high. They needed to be lowered.

I have to comment on the appliance “moment”. My husband also chose appliances for our house (fridge, washer, and dryer) because he did research on them, and they are by far the worst appliances ever! Our fridge is 6 years old and the ice maker stopped working after 2 years. The washer and dryer wreck clothes constantly. A tablecloth my mother-in-law had for many years came to us and after outlining it in the washer. It came out shredded! I pick appliances going forward!
**edit as I did not comment about the smoke detectors. We replaced our 30 year old smoke detectors about 6 years ago. They are hard wired with battery back up. Initially I thought “I can do this”, I was a fool to think that. We had an electrician come in because the wiring harness for the old and new were completely different! Never doing it myself again.

I am constantly typing unpopular comments that have people calling me every name in the book, but your comment wasn't nowhere near that level. I messaged Mike to tell him that you apologized and I applaud you for that. I do believe it was in jest, it was delivered incorrectly. Mike and Steve will receive criticism that to the commenter is warranted, as long as they aren't crossing a line I'm sure they understand when you put your life out in the public and rely on the public for views there will be unpopular comments.

We came home one night to our smoke detectors going off. We didn't smell smoke, couldn't figure out wth was going on, so I called the fire department. They came out and determined it was dust in the sense of the one in our bedroom (lol it is cathedral ceilings and nobody can reach those to dust lol). He pulled it down and showed me that not only were they expired, but they were installed almost TWENTY years ago! No idea they are supposed to be replaced haha
Luckily soon after, our town fire marshall started a program where they will come and install smoke detectors for free, so check that off my list til 2033! ha

How can anyone care about your appliance choices?? Glad yall got new alarms...we just got new ones for the full house..all battery. Got the ones that alarm and talk...smoke and CO....glad your folks were ok...
