Two day trips you can visit from Hong Kong Island!

From Hong Kong Macau Ferry Pier, we took the TurboJet to Macau Peninsular. We hadn't checked the times properly, so highly recommend doing so if you have lots of points in your itinerary! There are two companies; TurboJet and CotaiWaterJet which goes to Macau Taipa.
If we were to visit again, we would probably arrive at Taipa and depart at Macau (ticket prices are similar between both companies).
Once you arrive in Macau Ferry Terminal, it can be a bit overwhelming with lots of taxi drivers ushering you to their cars but be strong! And continue to the exit to find the coach stands with free shuttle buses which will drop you off at the biggest Casinos. As we were just visiting Macau Peninsular on this occasion, we used the Grand Lisboa bus. On return, go to the bottom floor inside the hotel where you need to pick up a free bus ticket before queueing on the side of the hotel to go back to the ferry.
Initially we had bought a SIM in Hong Kong which was supposed to work in Macau but didn't, however we ended up navigating our way around the city using a physical map and offline map which was fine!

From Sheung Wan (where we stayed) you can take a 1 hour MRT ride to Tung Chung. From there follow the signs to Exit A where there will be signs leading towards Ngong Ping Cable Car. We got there just before 11am and there was a long queue for tickets/ to get on the cable cars. A round trip with the normal cable car is 270HKD (March2024). We wanted to take the day easy but there are other fun things you can do if you have more time to explore the island which is listed below :)

There are so many beautiful Chinese and Portuguese cultures +buildings in Macau.
Tian Tan Buddha, Ruins of San Paulo,Sendao Square, casino…..
