Classic Game Room reviews DEATH CHASE for the Vectrex, a modern era release for the mighty Vectrex game system, the greatest video game system in the universe.
Death Chase comes on the same cart as NOX. Drive a car around the road and run over zombies, squashing them for big points!! Crush the undead on the Vectrex.
CGR Death Chase UA-cam review has Death Chase Vectrex gameplay recorded from GCE Vectrex.
It's based on the old 70s arcade game Death Race. Another game making me want a Vectrex.
Yeah, I read in Steven Kent's book "The Ultimate History of Video Games" that "Death Race" was pretty controversial at the time. Well, hopefully it didn't have women maimed or dumped for sport.
There should be a shirt with that "it's like a headshot... with your CAR... ON THE VECTREX" quote

The opaque designs on the overlay's really pretty.
You should check out the Berzerk Arena game. It's a 2 player game that involves one Vectrex per player!

This is actually a port of the controversial 1970s arcade title by Exidy. The game was banned from many arcades, because it was the first game where you could run over people. There's even a "modernized" remake for the NES from the unlicensed publisher AGC, released in 1990!
Maybe put that CGR url on the side so it's not covering what we are trying to look at? I don't know ...
The. Vectrex was really advanced for it's time and this is a nice delivered game with many contents inside.
But the best part is that i see an nes in the background, hands down , haha.
I first learned of the Vectrex's existence on this channel.

I want a sequel on this game: Death chase in milking out my fanbase.
Do you have kids, Mark? I'm interested in getting mine familiar with older games and I'm wondering the best way to go about it.

Remove all Wii's, Playstations and Xbox's from the house for about a week or so and tell the it's 80's or 90's week. Once all is removed hook up your Atari 2600/Nintendo or whatever you play and throw in a classic game, make sure to leave a box full of carts next to the system also. I did that and it worked a charm, now they play oldschool games more often because it's a different experience.
We had some laughs from the kids to begin with, then the Mrs and i took over on some competitive 2 player games having a blast the kids all of a sudden got right into it. Careful what you wish for though one the lads tears the back room apart looking for oldschool games in my stash these days. My once Pac-Man coffee cup is now their hot choco mug too...

I don't think you get the joke. Mustangs are infamous for being involved in accidents because their drivers usually have no business being behind the wheel of a sport car. There were memes going around depicting mustangs involved in accidents with bystanders. He's saying this game is a mustang simulator in reference to them.
