    Seems fine from a gameplay perspective, also the theme of focussing on shadow magic rather than void makes sense for a tree shared with holy and makes it feel different than voidweaver. My issues are mainly with the visuals, the halo animation looks off for some reason, I don’t know if it is the speed of the projectile, I feel like it should be accelerating more, the fact that it moves with you or that it has a very clear circular edge, which especially on the return looks weird. Additionally the fantasy of ascending into your perfect form is not reflected by either the gameplay or the visuals. Ty for the video!

    Honestly pretty happy with both shadow's hero trees overall, which is a pleasant surprise. Voidweaver definitely has the cool factor, but I can see both being interesting to play around with in different situations. Now they just need to improve our spec tree!

    I am so underwhelmed by this hero talent... Maybe it will be okay to play with but why would anyone pick this if we have Voidweaver.

      Blizz themselves have said Voidweaver is most likely gonna be the goto for shadow and they're fine with that. I still think Archon is cool and will probably still have its place in burst aoe

    Thematically would have been cool if Halo gave you Kyrian/Forsworn wings for 12 secs with a hover + cast while moving ability.
    Really lean into the Archangel/Dark Archangel theme

    Think this would look a lot better if we had the old MoP halo animation, the one that slowly expands out around you looks much better than current halo.

    I wish this tree would have been done differently.
    Taking the PvP talent for Holy where you can use Spirit of Redemption while alive, but you no longer turn into an angel when you die (this would require moving it to a talent node for Holy, but I think it would be an interesting option for PvE Holy Priest's toolkit) Then using Dark Ascension from Shadow just as it is.
    First talent could have been something that modifies both of those forms into "Archon" forms giving them healing/damage ups. Then capstone could have been a duration increase to the heightened Archon form or maybe its similar to the Voidweaver tree and you get an extra action to press during it.
    Honestly, this Archon Hero tree is much better than I thought they would do when devs said it would center around Halo. I like the idea they went with, but other hero talent trees are getting much more thematic and flavorful options. Something like this is cool and interesting, but wouldn't making Dark Ascension more interesting to play with, or letting Holy priests use Spirit of Redemption as a healing cooldown be more fun overall?

    why does for both hero talents we need to get specific talents to play. maybe i like to play with divine star what about that or maybe for voidweaver i don't want to play void torrent.
    and both talents are way down the talent tree road so it put a huge limitation on your build.

    As far as what I was expecting. Archon would be a buffed Apotheosis visual, same should've happened with DA. Dark Ascension turns you into a Dark Archangel and maybe pulse Halos or Chaos Orb effect. Remember the animation was gutted early in Legion, but so cool.

    Where's the ascended state? I think Halo should activate void form a shorter one yes, or an empowered shortened version of it. That'd be cool

    Halo needs a massive buff for this spec to feel good imo. Sure you get 6 of them, but Halo does no damage. 6 x basically 0 is still basically 0. Make it do variable damage to balance it for ST and high AoE (damage done shared between all enemies hit) and make it actually do good ST damage. Also like others have said, way more animations. At the very least, a better Halo animation and VF/DA animation.

      Damage wise it could be there, tuning is definitely not something that is final, but yeah i mostly agree

      What if it refreshed or applied dots? 🤔 Longish CD for easy mass dot = take my money. An ST dps boost makes sense too cause I can definitely see Archon being the raid choice.

      10 mob pull hit 6 times each. When fully tww geared, say it does 50-100k on a hit, that’s 3-6 million damage from one spell cast.

      @@GW-dz8yo I haven't played around with TWW scaling yet but that doesn't sound particularly good. Especially since on Boss fights you're talking about 300k-600k, that's on the lower end even right now.

    Tbh it's nice if you don't want to think about a lot of extra shit and just want the power. Will combine well with most talents but not help your aoe much in keys. Is that boring? Dunno, but always a fan of having a simple option for 20% power and an advanced option for 5-30% power depending on skill/situation/tank.

    Definitely feels like this fell short of delicering what the name 'Archon' implies. I was hoping for some visual/gameplay buffs to the main cooldowns. If Diabolist locks are summoning massive demons, and RotA DKs get the Four Horsemen, surely spriests should get to become a Dark Naaru or something for a few seconds? I do like the halo interactions though, I just dont think it's THE thing

    First, thanks for the video. As always, good job. Now initial thoughts.
    HOLY SH..! We shadowpriests have hit a jackpot for once (or, at least for now, lets see after nerfs), two decent hero talent trees... or at least I kind of like both, now for more specific feedback.
    Visually, Archon is, at least right now, underwhelming in comparison with Voidweaver, specially when the theme says we enter some kind of ultra-cool elevated state, but maybe the animation has not been implemented yet. Regarding playability, my issues are more with the holy version than with the shadow one. I prefer to play Divine Star in that node over Halo because of mobility in M+, with shadow, I have Voidweaver, which I like and believe will be competitive in M+, but the alternative for Archon as holy is Oracle which, right now, I do not like in any way, tbh. The node with WoS/HA, HS should be improved a bit, I do not see it being picked even in PvP, but I might be wrong here. Increased screams can be useful in M+, if it reapplies fear, it would to greatly improve a CC which breaks easiliy with damage.
    Lets see how this goes once the nerf machine hits Voidweaver... and probably this one too, xD.

    I might play it if they make halo 30sec cd but voidweaver just looks way better. Also dont like the shoehorn in of better power infusion, at this point id rather they just bake in haste to our major cooldown.

    This is the problem with hero talents needing crossover between other specs.. it's just held shadows potential trees back so much. Wanted something dot related and not being completely reliant on shadow crash and instead it's just all about mind blast for one tree and halo for another.. sad

    I thought this was gonna play and look a lot more like Boon of Ascension in SL, pretty underwhelming for sure. Especially considering halo is such a long cooldown your gameplay really doesn't change that frequently or with any huge impact.

    I don't know about anyone else but when I hear Archon (especially when Blizzard made starcraft Archons) I think starcraft Archons and even the description make it sound like you ascend into this higher form...but no you turn into some pulsating sonar of light character, just doesn't fit the them. The tuning on this would have to be absolutely insane and do way more damage then voidweaver for this to be viable. Doesn't fit the theme and just seems so passive and just kinda a press it every min and forget it kinda thing and not much of a play around kinda spec compared to voidweaver

      @Publikwow like there is some interesting effects like surge of insanity procs spawn shadowy apparitions makes it kinda awesome so spamming your 3 main abilities mb, dp, and flay or spike now spawning more turning you into possible machine gun like apparition build could be fun if tuning works but alot of these hero talent could be combined and put into 1 talent under halo's actually talent like improved halo talent or something and like you said halo being uncapped aoe there maybe some insane amount of burst coming out of it if we get dungeons like AA but if blizzard does soft cap it because of the hero talents making it too strong will just destroy it. So tuning will decide alot

    I'd like so they make that both shadow hero talents are viable, just depending on what situation they are used for (aoe vs st/keys vs raids/dmg vs survivability/and so on) Overall it seems nice what they have done, but I dont feel any connection in it with holy priest besides halo or any better visuals.

    I feel like this tree is a complete miss thematically and mechanically. There's nothing about this that feels like the intersection of holy and shadow. I knew this tree was going to be challenging for them, but they gotta do better.

      It's more about both Holy and Shadow taken to their extremes, like the different archons in Starcraft. That's always where I thought their design concept was pulled from, and not any overlap between the two opposed forces.

      It's literally combining holy and shadow.
      It focuses on holys halo + shadows voidform. It's the perfect intersection. And the form focus plays on the theme of being an entity from a higher realm.
      So not what you're on, but you're completely wrong.
      That being said, is it perfect? No. It definitely needs some tuning and unique animations, but your statement is just blatantly false.

      Basically nothing, Divine Star doesn't interact with this whatsoever so half the nodes wont work if you take that.

    I quite like the Halo themed tree and buffing our cds but I feel like some of the extra nodes are really meh, getting our PI power back through a hero talent node feels like a cheap shot

      Would it make you feel better if they added the 10% haste onto halo?
      They could get rid of it altogether. What will make you happy, if anything?

      Divine Star is still in the class tree as a talent choice with Halo, but has no interactions with Archon. Taking Divine Star as Archon would basically make the tree not function.

    so this is around halo buiild if you dont have halo in your build the hero taletns doesnt make any sense. i hate when devs forced players on playing only 1 build

    Imo, it really misses and I have no idea how it would be fixed. Seems like they tried to make a spec based off the Bastion ability.
    I’d rather the Hero talent somehow be tied to Shadowy Apparitions and Divine Images.
    Would love a build that really plays in to building up a bigger Divine Images and sending Walls of Apparitions.

    Missed opportunity to make Helo spread dots.
    Other than that its not bad, making your cds feel impactful is something that SP always needed, but it should be visually noticeable that you are Archon priest, make your PI on yourself glow more or something

    Every hero talent tree needs interesting animations and flavor, so this is extremely lazy and boring. But blizz cheaps out on these things for ages sadly. At leadt voidweaver got some cool animations, even though it still could have been even more as far as ive seen it

    I absolutely hate mind spike being a thing. It is a stupid budget mind blast, reminescent of plunderstorm's autoattack. Just keep flay and make it do cool shit.

      @@Publikwow I feel like it has always been like trying to fit a square wheel to car with four normal wheels. Never wanted, needed, never worked. It had some style back in the shadow orb era, although by default the concept of eating up dots was counter-intuitive.
      I believe giving flay some spice would not require too big of a brainstorming session, instead of tacking the spike on to the side and never knowing what to do with it.
