Actually the crash less then other helicopters. Since 1991 there have been 13 crashes involving the loss of the aircraft. The CH-53E has had 24 major crashes since since 1984 and i don't know numbers but i would say there are far more V-22's than CH-53E's

The V-22 utilizes torque transfer in case of engine failure. One engine can drive both rotors.
