One of the greatest drummers of all time.Period.
I had the honor of taking 6 or7 one-on-one drum lessons with Chester here in Nashville. Just the 2 of us in a room (hard to imagine in these coronavirus times). Such a sweet, amazing man.
Can't wait for you to bring that band back together. Abe Laboriel, Paul Jackson jr., Tom brooks, Chester and all
Chester is a class act all the way. Great interview!
What a wonderful conversation! I grew up listening to you two here in Brazil. Don, bring Tom Brooks and Abraham Laboriel too.
Chester Thompson, listening and watching you play With Pst Don and Pst Kenoly together with Justo Almario, Abraham Laboriel, Carl Abrecht, Alex Acuna, Paul Jackson and my all time favorite producer Tom Brooks blessed my childhood and I'd hope to hear from all of you once again.
Pastor Don I'm praying that you will be able to rally these amazing people one more time for a studio session to God's glory. Thank you so much for this (in my language Kiswahili ASANTE SANA)
Baltimore in the house! To this day the DC/Baltimore area is still spewing out great drummers (Dennis Chambers, Sean Rickman, Greg Grainger, etc.). Chester is such a humble man. I'm a drummer and a believer in Christ. By the time I was playing professionally I was mature enough to handle the club scenes and various negative influences. I also come from a "religious" background which I somewhat distanced myself from in my youth. Many believers don't understand that God wants you to take Him everywhere you go, even in the clubs and bars. It's not for everybody but God's light can shine all the more brightly in places that are dark. Sometimes there's more spiritual darkness in the places that claim to be places of light.
This video is such an education. Chester really shares the reality from a life angle that most don't get to experience. I never rose to the heights of skill or notoriety that Chester achieved but I can confirm the truth of much of what he's sharing. It's so rich.
Interesting to notice Chester's tendency to grip his wrists, stroke his arms and hold his joints. Would love to know what that's all about. Enjoyed this video immensely
To God be the Glory. You brothers Don Moen, Ron Kenoly, Abraham Laboriel, Justo, Tom brooks, Paul Jackson Jr., Chester Thompson have blessed this world with Holy Spirit filled praise and worship. God bless you for the great service and sacrifice that you offered to the Lord. This has indeed made a great impact in the Kingdom of God. We pray that God may give you another opportunity to do that. May God bless Hossana Music and Integrity Music for all the great work.
I came to this video for the insight into the Zappa band and that was great to hear. However, the most inspirational aspect of this video is the spirit of God and the meaning he can bring to your music and your life.
Felt the presence of God when listening to this conversation. Learned so much about how to play music in the right way. Such a great conversation with one of my fav drummers and fav worship leader. Don Moen sir, please have one interview with Abraham Laboriel SR
Wow can't wait for the new music from you all. Great musicians serving the Lord.
Chester Thompson? All those Ron Kenoly's & Don Moen's worship concerts oh Wow!!! How many VHS I have broken watching him and Abraham Laboriel.
I wish Don & Ron do worship concerts with these veteran musicians!
I would love that as well!
DonMoenTV all the best for Doha concert ! Hope you all have reached safely!
@@DonMoenTV Hello Don, Will kindly consider bringing your buddy Abraham Laboriel snr in for an interview? You've played countless records with him. Thank you.
I'd love to see an interview with Ron Kenoly. I don't think I've seen any
Chester is the best drummer ever.
Chester has a voice I could listen to for hours......
and what he has to say ain’t bad at all!!
What a nice guy, so down to earth.
don't forget he played with Phil Collins! 1982 in all of his tours except 3 :)
Please, please, please Mr Moen. God bless you so much. Bring in Abraham Laboriel snr soon! I can't wait. Make it 2 hours with Abe. We love these series. I know you read all your comments.
It's rare to feel the Glory of God through a conversation! I'm happy to watch this from these two heroes full of greatness and humbleness.
May the Lord grant you more and more of his favor and strength!
Be blessed
Thanks for your kind comment!
I had heard a lot about Chester when he was playing with Genesis and for Phil Collins this guy's a fantastic drummer and it's great to know that he knows the Lord
Lord who?
@@randyclere2330 Phil Collins? :-)
@@randyclere2330 Seriously?? Lord God.
Would love another interview/update with Chester.
Would really awesome to see alex, abe, carl and tom here. This is such a blessing. God bless you Don.
I really enjoyed this interview. Listening, and watching Mr. Thompson play on those Integrity recording back then made a major impression on me as a kid that has lasted to this day. My favorite moment will always be when the band went into a jam at the end of the "God Is Able" recording. Watching Abe, Chester, Alex, Carl, and Danny just give an instrumental praise will forever be a highlight.
I know this is a year and a half later, but I hope you can do an interview with Abe Laboriel Sr. That has to be an amazing testimony from such a humble man with a huge heart.
I despise that it cut out so early. I want to see how much longer they went.
absolutamente fantastico! gracias gracias gracias
Am inspirate for this movie and if God give the glory power to continue with them oh God almighty bless you Don Moen thanks
From Uruguay God still bless you
Amazing man Chester is.
Amen glore to god yes thank ❤❤❤
The almighty God be with you Don Moen
I saw Genesis on many occasions ..... to think that Chester was praying for the audience which included myself is wonderful to know.
And here I am now, a born again Bible believing Christian of five years , along with my wife and two sons.
Glory be to God on high.
One of my favourite musicians! Will be eagerly waiting for the album you guys have been talking about! Would love to see you all together.... don't forget to include Ron Kenoly!!
Hi @DonMoenTV, can we have an interview with Abraham Laboriel too please! We'd so much love this. Thanks!
This is so great
Saludos de Vida....
Desde Bogotá.. Colombia.!!
This is one of the most interesting interviews I've ever watched. Chester Thompson is such a humble and creative cat he doesn't even know it.
Please Don, would you please do an interview with the one and only Tom Brooks. Honestly, I feel he is a crucial component in the music that was made, definitely shaped my childhood.
so good 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi l love your music, thank you the Lord Jesus!!👍
pls don't forget Danny Bridgens. with the remarkable intro of Not By Power.
Hello big brother in Christ Don Meon thank you for this episode. So educative and inspiring as I listen to the guest's story and testimony.
I have a request. Can you in the subsequent editions add some videos of their acts during practice sessions or concerts.
Love from 🇨🇲
wow
Mr. Don please get Ron Kenoly, Abraham Laboriel, Paul Jackson, & Tom Brooks on your show all at once please.
And Chester’s face has lit dark places in my life at times of orphanhood and always reminded me that Jesus is alive and real, and God’s love is the only true peace. Like an island found in a storm 👍
Great to see these 2 great musicians. I just wish that you could do a number together before the interview ends. Same with Lenny before
Thanks for your suggestion! I'll keep that in mind for my next interview :)
You guys are my heroes. But do we ever get to find out if Abe actually PLAYED a gig with Zappa???????
Primer comentario Geñio DON MOEN:) I AM FROM URUGUAY
Chester Thompson is the greatest Christian drummer of all time.
Paul Jackson Jr., Abraham Laboriel Sr., Carl albrect, Tom Brooks pls
Hey Chester Thompson. Through Divine means I ended up with your old Simmons SDS7 drum brain. I would love to tell you the story some day.
Alguém por favor traduza pra o português Brasil
May God bless you hallelujah in Jesus name Amen 🎄💟🎄
Chester played with Leland Sklar. ..
The Batlle is the Lord
I always wondered why Chester did not play on Phil's Both Sides tour. now I know it was because he stayed home to be with his son. Good for you Chester!!!! I must admit, I was a little disappointed not to see him on stage. Ricky Lawson was a good drummer, however, he is no Chester Thompson.
Came here to watch one of the most consistent, strongest and nicest drummers I have ever seen (and only fellow musicians know his name if at all). And then I get this religious gibberish. But okay....to each his own. Still love his playing.
Your idiotic gibberish is even more brain numbing. Go away.
@@bkkersey93 You're representing the average brainwashed fascist-religious american, right? I have baaad news for you, buddy. No I won't go away. I'm right here and I am still disappointed about Chester's religious post-brainwash gibberish for which apparently his parents are responsible. And he still is one of my all-time favourite drummers.
@@niwa957 Well said. I was thinking the same thing myself.
@@terrypussypower And guess what, you and your boyfriend can take your idiotic opinions somewhere where they matter.
@@bkkersey93 Well, you obviously think they matter, or else you wouldn’t have bothered replying!! Lol! 🤣😂😎
You’re not the sharpest tool in the box!
The Lord took care of your career... That's a fact.
zappa is god
Big fan of Mr Thomson , but am finding slightly hard watch due to that so far no top blabbering about religion , could we Just talk about the mans incredible career
The buzz off, no one cares about your idiotic thoughts.
I am by no means religious and actually am pretty hostile to organized religion, being an atheist. I only came here to see Chester.
