This was a major event for the area, nearly 40 years ago. With a major celeb at the time participating. As shown by the crowds eager to see him. This event does not go through Cas` now. And the roads are now closed to traffic, when the event is on.
Not often a video makes my cry with Sadness and Joy.. but seeing my Dad running this 40 years ago was a great heart touching moment.. You captured him perfectly. Lovely memory.

@@rossybudz yes he was - taught at South Featherstone school in early 60's then Airedale Middle, then Love Lane in Ponte, then was headteacher at Larks Hill School from 1974 (when it opened) until he retired in 1992. Think he started running in 1983 and carried on for about 20 years until late in to his 70's.

Which road were you stood at exactly around 5 mins into the video? I can see a pub I think over the road
