Mother and Daughter Meet After 53 Years Apart

- Sarah Kleinhans is gearing up to meet her birth mom and half-sister. As expected, she’s anxious for this reunion 50-plus years in the making. Sarah and her half-brother were adopted by family in New Hampshire, from Korea, when she was just a year old. All they had was a locket with both their mom’s pic and their baby pic inside. Sarah told KCBS’ Jasmine Viel she has been hoping to connect for the last 53 years. Inside Edition Digital has more.
I’m crying. I love to see when people who were separated finally get together, and other people help them find each other. It really makes my day and I hope that many more people will be doing this in the future❤️

That’s sweet of you. I’m the daughter and I knew that I was an American soldier’s baby and that could have been a really hard life in Korea. I have always been so grateful to her for what she did. Found out she’s been looking for me forever as well. They put my birthdate wrong on the adoption paper.

As a half Korean woman myself I’m glad that Sarah can finally connect with her Korean mother. It’s true that it can be difficult as a mixed kid. They will all have a wonderful life together and eat lots of panchan at their meals ❤️❤️🇰🇷🇰🇷

I met my daughter after 23 yrs, last time i held her she was 2 weeks old, she came looking for me in 2019, and
it was fathers day when she found me, and now im also a grandpa to a 8 month old baby girl named Amira.

I was given up for adoption and I will never forgive the fact that she did not even try. I am, however, happy that I was given to the right woman because my mom loved me like I was her own son and raised me the right way.
If you don't have all the information you really shouldn't be upset with her it's NEVER EVER easy giving your child up.

I beat her by a few years,i just reunited with my biological father after 60 years, he took care of me as a tiny baby but didn’t know i was his,he moved away and never knew, i found him through AncestryDNA,we celebrated my 60 th birthday together last year,it was my first birthday with him ❤️

I understand since I’m adopted and I hoping that I can meet my birth mom when I’m a adult. I hope she’s still when I become a adult so I can meet her. I’m also from Korea like her and I have multiple siblings I don’t know how many, but I know that I have some and it’s sad that I might never meet them because she hasn’t been in contact with them for years so it’s highly unlikely. She unfortunately didn’t really have a choice it was try to be a mom knowing that she wasn’t fit to be one or give me up so I could have a better life, she did what she knew would be better for me even if it meant it would hurt her emotionally. She has problems with seeing hallucinations and many other things so she gave me up because she didn’t want me to grow up with a bad life so she did what she had to do. I just wish I could see her, it would be nice to be with her and get to know her so we could be family again. I know she’s family but it doesn’t really feel like it because we’re super far apart and disconnected from each other’s life.

❤ ive put two babies up for adoption and i chose the families. It was so hard but the right choice, i get to see them, one even messages me on Facebook! That excitement is still present every time i interact them. If anyone wants to ask questions about my experiences please do. It was for sure a rough journey for me.
