My electrician tools came in handy. Thank you soo much. I wasn’t patient enough to wait the next day to purchase jumper cables during business hours. Cook county had a power outage today too so I was stuck in the dark and my car couldn’t start. Thanks a lot!!
Happy to help!
I have been doing this for over 10 years. It used to start my 5VZFE engine in my Toyota hilux everytime. And that was ni-mh batteries. The lion dewalt battery is awesome. Top tutorial

Thank you, bro. As a female who is usually navigating life solo, hacks like this can really save my life. I tried in my driveway this morning and it worked like a dang charm. 💯
@@ms.mcmillion7817 happy i could help!
Worked great. Thanks for saving me from having to use AAA!
Glad i can help
👏👏👏 Thank you! I did it directly to the battery contacts, couldn't see the + on my 2005 fuse box
Glad it worked!
Buddy you are fantastic!! Attached 18v DeWalt onto the battery and it turned over and started straight away 😁 much appreciated 😅
Happy to hear!
Life saver bro. Now i never go anywhere without a power tool😂
Big facts!
I like that Led readout gizmo on battery tells ya volts.. so coool.
wish I had one
Literally saved me, thanks g
Huuuat Power!.

My friends dad does this with his quad and it works every time
Right on!
Why go off the fuse box?
Maybe is lower voltage idk how electric stuff on cars work
I did on the battery terminals it worked. I'm guessing it's easier to hold the little wires while youre doing it.
Less draw on the battery and the system in general
My 04 Sierra was dead yesterday sitting in my driveway, i was trying to see if i could run a power chord to the battery to jump it off, from plugged in my home, had no luck in my research, so i called someone to jump me, wish id seen this yesterday, im glad i didnt spend that $ on a battery jump box. This is amazing cant wait for it to go dead again so i can use one of my power tool battery's.
My charge wire ring terminal broke off of my alternator on my boat, of course I didn’t know. I cut the motor to fish. Tried to start the engine to leave it just clicked. I done this trick and got it started. So yes this is true it works.
Glad to hear you were able to get home!
Super skeptical, but I'm interested and trying.
5x in one day. Bro you’re due for a new battery 🤣
Thats the hoopty. Ride it til the wheels fall off.
Just buy a new battery since you can afford one of those expensive li-ion batteries haha
I have 20 of these batteries for work. I dont how ever carry around spare automotive batteries. Hence me saying to do this in a emergency.
😂 In the wood you are going to buy a battery😂😂
You say locate your fuse Box are you putting in the piece of wire somewhere into the fuse Box specifically
The mega fuse inside the box
DeWalt 20V battery just jumped my 2019 WRX 👍
Nice!
cool trick.. good i idea i guess.. just looked up craftsman drill batter like $20-$60 so cheaper than jump booster box... but.lil risky.. idunno
not a mech or electr but these r all 20v right ?
so how they work affect a 12v dc car battery ?
think will stick w BPROM booster bix cost like $60-80 online.. has good rep works pretty good.. very safe worth it i think
like yur pool btw
@@phillp7777 12v systems have a operating range between 10.9 & 18v. When connected to resistance the battery mac output is 15v. If done my way connecting to fuse box if you were to receive 20v ( you will not because the batteries are actually 18v resting. The worse that happens is you pop a fuse. Those jump packs are junk, overpriced, never charged & bulky. I used to sell them to dum dums
@@Floridamancan no disagree I got saved yday sec gd guy helped me.. he had the BRPOM jumper pack new slapped on my battery only like 1yr old O'Reilly.. 2 sec my car started right up.. so happy lucky.. was screwed stuck for over 4hrs .. 5th at least looking maybe get a jump off sbody w my jumper cables.. batteries ALLL rly suckk so weakazzzz fccknJoke ridiculous!... but I gotta do sthing gonna try get this Bprom 6000A one onsale for like $60 ... hope it's a good.one.. I can't do yur deal.. know nothing about those drill batteries... plus these jump packs do work alot have a lot safety override gizmo protection.. can be easy recharge on usb-c nice case nice led readouts.. pretty cool
Can you make a video on how to install that gauge
I will do that this week.
I know why go off the fuse Box like what are you specifically putting or attaching it to in the fuse Box you're not stating that why not just connect It directly to Both batteries
Resistance is highest at batteries. Connecting at fuse box provides protection to all circuits via fuses while offering shortest path of resistance.
What if you use a power tool battery with 40volts or more
Dont do that.
wreck computer system in car.
Wow love it
That shit was smoking lol ... another note put some alligator clips on it
This is for emergency use. I don’t carry around alligator clips lol
@@Floridamancan hey it was a great idea I threw a battery in my truck after I saw this thanks for the idea
@@Blake_Guajardo thanks, glad to hear!
It’s better than a high dallor booster pack
Romex is not a wire, you can easily misplace the wires so color of the wire does not matter.
“Romex is the trade name for a type of electrical conductor with non-metallic sheathing that is commonly used as residential branch wiring”
@@FloridamancanJust a heads up, the White is the common line and the black actually the power from the breaker. Why it matters: the White is actually slightly larger in diameter which reduces resistance on the return leg for 220-240 amp (black and red) service. You can measure it with digital calipers. So try not to flip them.
@@skeetorkiftwon if it was 110-120v yes, but we are talking 12v so ground is always black.
@@Floridamancan romex remains house wire regardless of where you use it. If the hot is bigger than the common return (which it is, if you use the White romex as your hot) then you can have a potential issue if you stripped it from three wire romex. There is a physically larger diameter in the white house wire.
The larger diameter of the common line reduces resistance, and increases the emf field, which is why your welder will show bands in iron dust.
@@skeetorkiftwon you can word it how ever you want. The application is 12v in 12v systems ground wire is black. Does not matter if you use romex, speaker wire, lamp cord, or jump cables. 12v ground = Black
Go argue with someone using romex in a home.
If i use 2 forks what one do i use for ground?
your battery voltage out?
It works
🙌
Are you connecting the hot wire to your battery
Directly to the starter wire in the fuse box.
Cars battery has a dead cell
Alternator had a bad connection.
Them !!
That will work on the battery
Battery is hidden, fuse box is closest point to starter without connecting directly to the starter.
@@Floridamancan makes since
@@Floridamancan figured there was a nut for power cause it's hidden ground to frame
@@chadmartin3833 most universal point for us all is the fuse box. Also if you attach at the battery it will have more resistance as the battery will want to sip sone of the juice first.
@@Floridamancaneither way works. I have had to do that before. I would stay away from that if all possible. I am one of those guys where murphys law happens. I have started and currently running my own shop. Usually play it safe if I could.
Can this not fry your computer ?
Pretty unlikely tbh
no
Nope
I've got the 18v milwaukee battery. Wouldn't this mess up 12v battery? I was always told never to use anything more that what your battery is 12v for 12v and 24v for 24v?
@@thegriffingamer7311 12v systems operate between 12-18v. With load the most the car see’s is 15v connected & 12.5v while cranking.
If they only sold something at walmart that did this for you.
No need to buy anything if your a working man that already has it
@@Floridamancan nah, emergency purposes only. 👍
@@SuperSedingAngeL-yr0 the battery will be dead when you need it on those “Emergency jump packs”. In my experience
Haha that will crank your car but also fry every 12v system in your car
Used it twice today. No french fries unfortunately
Any adapters available?
Working on creating one.
Ever seen what happens when you pump 18 or 20 vdc through a circuit designed for 5 or 10 amps at 12 vdc. Typically allows too much current through a driver in a module which will leave the module no good unless you can fix smd components. If it works for, can't blame you. To each there own
Lots of what ifs. Its worked without a issue countless times. Enjoy your booster shots lol
To answer the question. Any vehicle with such a sensitive instrument would also be fused and will have a VCM to make sure no such thing can happen if it would. Like states several times. Under load the voltage at the battery pack is 15v at most. A 12v system is designed to operate safely between 11.5-18v on average. And any instrument requiring less will have a step down and fuse in place. Stop worrying about nada

Wtf hows it get to 9 lol
By depleting 3-4 volts
mine got 8.6 today. What should I do? Charging it will fix it? Or have to replace it?
@@saifuzzaman7176try charging it with a good charger.. gonna have to fully charge it.. then test the voltage.. if it’s holding above 12.6 you probably have a little life. U have caused permanent damage to the battery though so it needs to be replaced sooner than later
@@FloridamancanI have car that I have used for like 45 minutes the whole year.. and lowest I see is like 11.9

Whatever you wish to loose.
A jump pack which is designed to jump vehicles doesn’t even jump my cold 7.3L diesel.
That’s why the truck came from the factory with two monster batteries.
@@jayonez137 this battery has twice the voltage of a standard Jumpack & 10X the capacity. Your comparing dicks to tits, bud.

Your wrong again kiddo!
3 of us got together last night in my shop and attempted your little battery trick.
Tried it with a 18V Milwaukee as well as a 18v dewalt cordless battery.
It does not crank my 7.3L even 1 full rotation.
Maybe you just don’t have any experience with diesels but With 18 quarts of cold 15 W 40 and the compression in the pistons my truck just laughed at your little trick.
If you doubt me please post a video of you jumpstarting a 7.3L.
Hope to see it soon
@@jayonez137 you did all that and forgot to record it? Ima just call 🧢 child.
White is never the hot wire, the black is always hot, if you were to wire someone’s house like that you’d be popping breakers non stop if not start a fire, unless you were saying in the example the white is hot.. pretty cool though, had to jump start my truck the other morning, having a ton of tools on hand, I decided to use the least expensive one.. (24v Kobalt), figured I didn’t want to risk destroying a pricy Milwaukee or Dewalt battery…
I mean both the black & white are hot in a home. Cant compare ac to dc. In this instance i am speaking DC & white in place of red.
Well why wouldn't white be the hot black is the negative
trippin
Dude said "white power" racist.

Just buy a damm battery.
