I find your teaching style very "laid back" and accessible for beginners. This video is hilarious and soo on point...Most Turkish dramas are "fast food" for the masses (guilt free melodrama) which accounts for their addictive power...there are exceptions, of course (Kara Sevda and KPA, etc). Plan to hang out with you as I explore your unique and scintillating language.
I started watching Turkish dramas by first watching Kara Sevda, now I'm so addicted to them. I'm intrigued by the storylines! I really can't help myself. I always want more! 😍
From my humble experience, as a non-Turkish person, the most notable difference is: > In dramas: Literally anything happens : character cries > in real life : Literally anything happens: person pretends to be okay. Then will proceed to burst out in anger later on, at the most random moment in a conversation.
hahaha yıkıldım" kelimesini çok doğru kullandın! ama izliyormuştum olmaz. izliyordum doğrusu. çünkü "muş" eki senin bilmediğin, başkasından duyduğun durumlarda kullanılır. it is actually wrong to say "izliyormuştum" you have to say "izliyordum" it is past continuous tense " ı was watching". the "muş" suffix is being used when you hear/learn something you dont know. for example you are my friend and you came to istanbul and somebody told me "livin came to istanbul"thi si new thing for me, here ı actually say "aaa livin gelmiş". miş suffix mean to something that you learned after.
The setting though. Normally it’s not in a house. The mentor is mostly a hobo, or a poor fisherman who lives in his shack, they meet by the sea on a bench or the fisherman’s shack at night. There’s implied drinking (not open like in the old times, because censorship). I think the most different mentor was this pigeon guy in Deli Yürek. They met on the roof.

Lol!!!! this is so funny and true. I have been watching turkish dramas for 2 years now and that is exactly how they do it. Long stares, truth never come out, deeply in love, dark character has a romantic side and so on.......well done makers👍
Also: 1) That one girl who is beautiful but the most irritating character ever. 2) Car accidents (ALL.THE.TIME.) 3) The main leads fighting for their impossible love 4) Break up because of jealousy 5) A big secret/lie that can change the direction of the entire show (and it does at some point) 6) The poor main girl being the best person ever with no flaws AT ALL 7) A woman who sings (and has a good voice) while doing chores or stuff 8) Many elders involved in the plot (either good or bad) 9) Thinking someone died and then seeing them fully recovered at some warehouse or something 10) TEA, TEA, TEA (with every meal) I could go on forever lmao
A few years ago when Turkish dramas were introduced in Pakistan got insane popularity. But these days Turkish dramas have lost attention. We normally skip the channel if we watch a Turkish serial because all dramas look the same - stories far behind or far from reality. (Eurtugurl is an exception but I don't remember the name of any Turkish drama except Ishq-e-Mamnu and Fatima Gul.....they are heart-winning).
Turkishle, your videos are very creative, entertaining and thoughtful. I can see you put a lot of work into them. You will get to 1MM viewers I'm quite sure. You presentation and style makes me smile. Good luck!
I recognized the music background from Ezel (-: That was, actually, a good series! This may be not a cliché, but everyone is saying "Günaydın" in the most cheerful voice! The rich are always driving in enormous black SUV's, and they have 12354 bodyguards, dressed in black, who pull their guns at the same time!
Hi Can! I've recently watched my first Turkish drama (Kadın), and found your UA-cam channel. I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to start wheezing, still my 2 personal favorites are Kiralik Ask and Cesur ve Güzel, but thanks for the reality clips, I was beggining to believe that Turkish men were perfect and that the men from my country should take a few pointers. I guess it's the same anywhere. I will continue watching some series which currently I'm watching Ada Masali, I study the body language from the characters in the different series and listen to what they say and I try to understand what is going on and now that I have found your videos, they have been very much helpful. Thanks again.
If you live in Pk it matches with reality.. but other place of world it doesn’t.. 😝 In pk dramas it shows arranged marriages, cousin marriages, toxic in-laws etc. And these things aren’t real in my place. 😂 btw I do enjoy watching Pk dramas too. ❤️
Our comedy series are closer to reality than our drama series though. Those cliches don’t really apply to them. Then there’s Leyla ile Mecnun, the absurdist cloudcuckooland.

😂😂😂😂😂 yes... But I beleive Turkish series are pleasing to watch... They work on the quality of work, they dont stretch shows for long lasting years with unlogical twists and turns... 😂😂
Bang on 😂 actually all this, infact more than this happens in Indian dramas also, but I love Turkish dramas. Especially action, thrillers r really good. Now Ramo, çukur, Teşkilat, Maraşli 😍😍
All over the video I was just finding where is that scene when girlfriend is eating something and boyfriend is early waiting when some parts of food will stuck on her lips and he will clean it.😐😐
I noticed that there‘s nobody from Switzerland till now. So I send you love from where I am💛🧡❤️! I‘m starting to become your fan (if I‘m not already 😉). Just really good performance, also when you talk about the language or prejudices👍🏽👍🏽
I LOVE my Turkish shows, and this was too true! When I first started watching them my first thought was, "Why do Turkish women seem to have trouble walking, picking things up on their own, buckling their own seat belts or motorcycle helmets, and putting on their own necklaces???" But I watch them all the same and love every second! My favorite cliche in Turkish shows are rich guys leaning against fancy cars in the poor girl's neighborhood.
Throwing the ring into the sea, pausing the violence to fetch the girl’s purse, Anne threatening everyone with a slipper, the irresistible romance of sucuklu yumurta for breakfast or balık ekmek after dark at a rickety table on the water…
Actually Turkish dramas love at first sight or two incredibly good looking peoples, is believable, since most of the leading pairs wind up in relationship as well! Also, when you are good looking, falling in love by others is easy!
المسلسلات التركية من أفضل المسلسلات في العالم ، وقد ساهمت بتعريف العالم عن تركيا و معالمها، أعمال يمكن لجميع الأعمار بمشاهدتها، هي الأفضل بدون مبالغة 👌
I love this video! So funny. A few reactions I see alot of in dramas are 1) women's reactions towards each other when one is jealous; 2) male anger and possessivness towards women. Thanks for the great work you do.
Well, I can't say things like this happen in other country's dramas but I guess that "BEAUTIFUL MORNINGS" was the most relatable......thid happens in almost every type of dramas or movies 😁😂😅👍
Please never change. That's why Pakistani dramas are so loved around the world. And they should also add subtitles in various languages like Arabic, Turkish, Bahasa Indonesia, English, Spanish and Russian.

@Ira Khan If you are saying about websearies and movies you are right but in indianserials kiss and sex are not shown. This are foccused on one thing Bahu.

I’m not Turkish but am obsessed with the dramas. You captured everything!!! Lol. Great job!!!!
I think i have reccomended drama on going : Kalp Yarisi. Have good plot and actor's acting is great
Ezel dizisini izlemelisin
Kara sevda = rubbish
Kara sevda bir Türk başyapıtıdır.
Can you’ re not only a excellent teacher but a good actor as well. The video is very funny!
So glad to hear that Maria :) Teşekkürler, gracias :)
@@Turkishle Next time portray Metinfrom black money love😂
They always have a hospital scene!
AND the random pull and kiss lmaooo (eg. Kuzgun and Hercai)
From my humble experience, as a non-Turkish person, the most notable difference is:
> In dramas:
Literally anything happens : character cries
> in real life :
Literally anything happens: person pretends to be okay. Then will proceed to burst out in anger later on, at the most random moment in a conversation.
Hi I am Jamaican and this was so fun to watch. I laughed at every drama vs reality experience so relaxing
lol, also there's always main character happen to be shirtless or taking shower then the girl accidently come in 🙈😂😂
2.34 te yıkıldım 🤣🤣🤣 Ben Türkçe öğrenmek için Yaprak Dökümü izliyormuştum. Türkçem düzelirken psikolojim bozulmuştu!

İzliyormuştum değil izliyordum olması gerek.
Farklı bir amacım yok sadece Türkçe öğrenmenize yardım etmek istedim. 🖤
Hahaah 😂 Nerelisin? merak ettim de
hahaha yıkıldım" kelimesini çok doğru kullandın! ama izliyormuştum olmaz. izliyordum doğrusu. çünkü "muş" eki senin bilmediğin, başkasından duyduğun durumlarda kullanılır. it is actually wrong to say "izliyormuştum" you have to say "izliyordum" it is past continuous tense " ı was watching". the "muş" suffix is being used when you hear/learn something you dont know. for example you are my friend and you came to istanbul and somebody told me "livin came to istanbul"thi si new thing for me, here ı actually say "aaa livin gelmiş". miş suffix mean to something that you learned after.

The life mentors had me hahahaha like there is always that one uncle or auntie who always knows what to say to a confused character 😂

You definitely got me at the “life mentor” scene😂 keep up the good work!

You are amazing man! Greetings from Greece ❤️🇬🇷🇹🇷
The music is sooo spot on like I constantly felt like I am watching a show
But for real, Turkish dramas really brought a wave of change in my country. Like before, people use to watch and talk about Indian dramas, but now people are more obsessed with Turkish dramas. But some plots are really out of this world
I love Turkish dramas ❤️. They are life.
@Ira Khan Umm to whom are u saying this? When did I say I got medieval mindset? And when did I deny the fact that Turkey is a modern country! Of course it is... I love Turkey! Whom you attacking?
Lol!!!! this is so funny and true. I have been watching turkish dramas for 2 years now and that is exactly how they do it. Long stares, truth never come out, deeply in love, dark character has a romantic side and so on.......well done makers👍
Also: 1) That one girl who is beautiful but the most irritating character ever.
2) Car accidents (ALL.THE.TIME.)
3) The main leads fighting for their impossible love
4) Break up because of jealousy
5) A big secret/lie that can change the direction of the entire show (and it does at some point)
6) The poor main girl being the best person ever with no flaws AT ALL
7) A woman who sings (and has a good voice) while doing chores or stuff
8) Many elders involved in the plot (either good or bad)
9) Thinking someone died and then seeing them fully recovered at some warehouse or something
10) TEA, TEA, TEA (with every meal)
I could go on forever lmao
True kanka 😂
A few years ago when Turkish dramas were introduced in Pakistan got insane popularity. But these days Turkish dramas have lost attention. We normally skip the channel if we watch a Turkish serial because all dramas look the same - stories far behind or far from reality. (Eurtugurl is an exception but I don't remember the name of any Turkish drama except Ishq-e-Mamnu and Fatima Gul.....they are heart-winning).
Was laughing really hard. Too good and funny. These thoughts did cross my mind watching the dramas. Good job putting this together
I always wonder, in their dramas how they sleep on a sofa all night while sitting. 😂
Yeees! Oh my goodness! Spot on!
@Ira Khan sad fact of the censorship. There used to be in the old days.
@Ira Khan said that to Erdogan... He censored everything.... But kissing are there in every show except TRT because TRT is run by Govt..........
Kera sevda, hero through out the series sleep on sofa
And they manage to stay in the same position 😄
Is the number for calling ambulance ''112'' in Turkey?

I recognized the music background from Ezel (-: That was, actually, a good series!
This may be not a cliché, but everyone is saying "Günaydın" in the most cheerful voice!

Hi Can! I've recently watched my first Turkish drama (Kadın), and found your UA-cam channel. This video is so hilarious, it is on point. 😁 I like your other videos too, I got to understand why people drank the tea from the small cups and kept the camera showing as people took their shoes off. 😀 but your videos are generally very interesting and informative, Thanks for the great content.👏💙
Obviously reality and drama can not be same but despite of this I love Turkish dramas
Oh my gosh, this was HILARIOUS because it’s so true! Thanks for making this video. It was very entertaining to watch on my commute to work in NYC :-) I really had to hold back from LOL’ing on the train!
I loved this version of drama vs reality. Your drama cliche vs real life was spot on. I watch tons of Turkish dramas and this is legit spot on. It made me laugh so much. Good job👏🏻
Pakistani Dramas are mostly based on reality with balance no of episodes and are worth watching ...❤❤😍
But I like turkish series also 😉
Love from Pak 🇵🇰
But they are not that real ok, jo life mein 20 saal ke duration mein hota hai, dramas ki life mein 1 year mein hojata hai.. And almost in every drama.

Agreed 🇮🇳, pakistani dramas are worth to watch but they're mostly sad they make us cry alot.

🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for this video it's simply hilarious, so funny it's rediculous.
I have to say I love Turkish drama. It's a safe guilty pleasure get away from our daily grind. You are so right on and did such a great job.
Ahhh aşk-i-memnu müziği çok severim! Çok iyi bir video yaptın!! Yeni yilin kutlu olsun❤
You should watch Pakistani dramas, they are close to reality and are not that much big.
Bosver bu kadin keleme...
And boring
If you live in Pk it matches with reality.. but other place of world it doesn’t.. 😝 In pk dramas it shows arranged marriages, cousin marriages, toxic in-laws etc. And these things aren’t real in my place. 😂 btw I do enjoy watching Pk dramas too. ❤️
Kabhi kabhi chand ko jameen pe le aate hai waise 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Our comedy series are closer to reality than our drama series though. Those cliches don’t really apply to them. Then there’s Leyla ile Mecnun, the absurdist cloudcuckooland.
You are so funny!! I could not stop laughing with this video! Great video! I love Turkish dramas although I do understand that they exaggerate. Greetings from Greece.
This type of cliche scenes is not in ISLAND TALE (ADA MASALI)

It was real fun watching. So perfectly filmed!
I'm from india when I see Turkish drama immediately reminds ekta kapoor's series🤣🤣🤣 only desi people get this
😂😂😂😂😂 yes...

Erkenci kus ❤ I don't understand any single word but love that . Big appreciation from India 🇮🇳
I love Turkish dramas. And your parody in this video is excellent! Thank you, I loved it.
Actually Turkish dramas love at first sight or two incredibly good looking peoples, is believable, since most of the leading pairs wind up in relationship as well! Also, when you are good looking, falling in love by others is easy!
Turkish dramas are fantastic but very time consuming. 👌👌👌👌👌👌
This tone is of forbidden love if I’m not wrong. It’s the first turkish drama I’ve seen

A few reactions I see alot of in dramas are 1) women's reactions towards each other when one is jealous; 2) male anger and possessivness towards women.
Thanks for the great work you do.
