    It was a good game IMO. The big problem was it looked pretty similar to GP22-21... Not only visually but also the gameplay looked basically the same as the lastest motogp games, at least from looking at the videos shown/released by milestone... it gave the feel of being just a ''reskin'' of MotoGP (which kinda is...). That plus the lack of content (600cc, 300cc, more tracks, etc) made most people skip this title.
    On the other hand, if you went for it and actually tried the game (despite the lack of content ofc) you would find the gameplay had its own essence and unique feel which to me made it very enjoyable. I actually had a lot of fun racing on this game with sacredmeerkat and Jack Hammer.
    IMO, maybe if milestone dropped this game as a good solid DLC for MotoGP or RIDE would've made more sense perhaps? since the content they had clearly wasn't enough for a full game...

      Interesting to hear your perspective as a top level player, I do remember seeing you doing a lot of videos and streams on the game.
      Is there a setup or something that dials out the issues?
      I do agree the lack of content was an issue, I'd imagine the licence demands a full game though so I don't think they could do a DLC. A good compromise would be selling it at a cheaper price, rather than a full priced game

      Huh? Motorcycle brakes, on your average road superbike, are incredible! My BMW has older M4 monoblocs and they stop prison speeds, in no time at all. Even something like a 765 RS or Duke 890R is packing some of the latest from Brembo paired with a Brembo MCS - and they stop you like hitting a brick wall. SBK bikes are on another level again - so I'd love to know what brakes you have been using 😂

    I really wish they'd made the handling correct for superbikes and added historic SBK content. Even if it was still based on MotoGP games I feel like they could have done enough to continue the series alongside MotoGP instead of just leaving us with the 2022 season

    • @BIKERGaming
      @BIKERGaming  7 місяців тому +1

      100%, if they had tried to make it a good game it could've been great. It'd have been fine that it was similar to MotoGP as that's what you'd expect, they just made it so much worse

    I was really hoping there would be an SBK23 with all classes, as I prefer SBK over MotoGP. I'd be happy with a copy of MotoGP 23 career / story but with SBK bike handling & performance. It would be a real shame if they left SBK due to them half arsing it on this one and using low sales as an excuse, low sales / flop is a by-product of them half arsing it in the first place. If they are shelving it they should pass it onto a developer who wants to make a decent game.

    • @BIKERGaming
      @BIKERGaming  9 місяців тому +2

      100% agree, they half arsed it and then wondered why it didn't sell. It could be a fantastic game if they added more content, fixed the bugs and actually tuned the physics and ai

      Oh damn, that must've been annoying!

    Also noticed your brake input, they're really weird, why do you like go on/off on them? Personally what I do is I press the left trigger really hard and then trail brake into the corner and I use the rear brake at the same time, when I'm upright that is

    • @BIKERGaming
      @BIKERGaming  9 місяців тому

      Yeah it's a weird technique, I don't actually notice I'm doing at it but it's something you notice on the telemetry. I believe I subconsciously developed it to mitigate the stoppies on MotoGP 20, I do brake like it in every game though and this is the only one I find the brakes to be poor.
      It's an almost universal complaint so I doubt it's all down to my braking but you're certainly right that it doesn't help lol

    My Personal Best Bet That Milestone Has a downfall on its Motorbike Games Ngl, Honesty I Would Imagine Nacon Would Develop a Better WorldSBK Game, Cuz They Made the Physics of the "TT Isle Of Man: Ride on the 3" Game More Realistic for Both Supersport Bikes & Superbikes, But However They Did Had a Downfall On Its First 3 Motorbike Games which is TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 1, TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2, & RIMS Racing, But the Crazy News is that Nacon Has Took Over the MXGP Video Game License From Milestone, And Which I Hope They'll make it a better game

      @BIKERGaming  2 місяці тому +1

      Interesting, I hadn’t heard that they lost the MXGP licence.

  • @TheMiGger
    @TheMiGger 10 місяців тому +2

    The thing that put the game down for me was that it doesn't look like a SBK game: they took MotoGP physics and generic behavior and said "ok, change some numbers and make them slow". SBKs are not "slow MotoGP", they are different: they give different feelings, they move around differently. What a shame, we really need a good SBK game

    • @BIKERGaming
      @BIKERGaming  9 місяців тому +1

      Definitely, I think the SBK mods for GP BIKES does a great job of showcasing that. Hell, even the RIDE games do a better job at having superbikes.

    They shouldn't have made a WorldSBK game, what they should have done is made a Ride5 Worldsbk Career DLC. There was no real career progression no SSP300, or SSP600 it just looked like a cheap cash grab.

    • @BIKERGaming
      @BIKERGaming  9 місяців тому

      A cheap cash grab pretty much sums it up, I imagine the licence says it must be a full game rather than a DLC so that's probably why it wasn't a DLC for Ride

    I still play MotoGP™21 today and it lacks a lot of PS4 Pro optimisation, lagging and sometimes even crashing. When I brake in a race, the AI come and crush me or they get thrown off if I straighten the bike. And I play on 70% and they throw me off in the corners. When I touch the kerb in premier class, I get thrown off the moment I even apply throttle. It is very frustrating. And why did they add the logo Cutscene after crashes? Especially with poor optimisation and lag, the game slows you down from respawning. If you collect an AI in the crash, they respawn faster than you even with bike recovery disabled. The ragdoll physics is so weird too, unlike MotoGP 20. Worst part is they removed Historic Mode, even though we can use the historic bikes, but I liked the daily challenges. It's a lot like Superbike 22. Also, the first SBK game made by Milestone is Superbike 2001.

    Indeed, it's a shame. Watching the WSBK this weekend at Portimao and last race on Aragon made me appreciate how much more interesting it is compared to the current MotoGP season. Yea, Ducati are still the fastest but at least it's not 5 Ducati teams from 1st to 10th position... There are lot more battles and overtakes. Far less incidents and race interrupts. And it's not like the difference in pace is that big. On Portimao they were 1-2 seconds slower than MotoGP bikes... Even the Moto2 and Moto3 races are far more interesting than MotoGP currently.

    • @BIKERGaming
      @BIKERGaming  9 місяців тому +1

      Yeah the Aero is ruining MotoGP racing at the minute, SBK is a great showcase of it as there's little to no aero and the racing is great!
      And like you mention, they're not going slowly either

      @BIKERGaming it's annoying, as one of the most impressive things about riding a real modern superbike, for example, is the stopping power. The games just don't get that aspect across in a realistic manner. I also find they can be real pigs to turn in the game. Maybe I should just stick to the real thing 🤔

My only cons about Motogp23 is the bike's gyroscopic tendency to sit up rather than letting the rear wheel spin out if I'm rough on the corner exit. You feel too invincible, no highside. Motogp21 and 22 would punish your heavy gas by wheel spin and crash. Motogp23 felt too safe. Catered to not let you fall. How's Ride5?

    I've actually grown to love this game, turn all assists off, including joint brakes, set physics to pro, the rest is technique, you can drastically shorten braking distance by holding the front brake down and by pumping the back brake, if you still need to brake later you can pull back on the steering stick too, I've actually put down motogp 2017 an 2019, to play this as it's so difficult but rewarding, it's really grown on me but I think most people just thought too hard, bomb it off!!!
