Thanks for the info! I had steering parts replaced and new tires and noticed the wandering in my steering. So now I have the bushings ordered. I appreciate your sharing this.
Those bushings are made very close to where i live in Alberta. I went to their shop to pick them up and the owner offered to install them for me... nice guys! He said to get them both started before pressing/tapping them in as that insures the second one will be easily started without the first one locking it in. Their ball joints are very good as well but maybe a bit overkill and expensive as they will probably last longer than the truck... LOL
Justin Barnes Hey Justin! Such an honor to be a help! Glad to point things out that could really save time/money. Let us know how it goes!! Will do and God bless! 😎
My steering wheel noise is more of a plastic scrapping coming from inside the vehicle. Could it be the bearing in the firewall assembly just past these bushings?
Thanks for the video buddy - I ordered and installed these on my 2012 3500. It helped - not 100% but it did help. I might try adjusting my steering box next - not sure if you've dealt with that
The pin fits tight when new, you're just taking up the slop with the bushing that was caused from wear by the steel pin. There's no more stress than any other time.
This fix doesn't work. Once the rubber dries out, it loses its structural integrity. So even though you insert a bushing, and fix that issue, you will still have wander because of the twist.
Bill Gates hmmm, they must have a different steering shaft on there on previous year. Maybe there’s something else down the line that has rubber bushings of some kind that have worn out on yours? I wish I could help further!
Is this can be done on a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 ? Because I look on the bottom by the pedal and the steering shaft as like a metal mesh wire thing rap around it You know if that need to be taken out to get to the part
Hey Ricky! I know it’s not an upgraded shaft but I think it’ll tighten up the steering well, until folks can pull the money together for the real deal replacement.
Ricky Blackshear It’s a privilege to even have an audience haha I just recorded my next video so hopefully tonight I can edit and get it scheduled for sometime this week. “Top 10 things I’ve learned (in 4 years)”
Ander Sixxin Hey Zane! Thanks for reaching out! Haha trying to keep it a little more contained than I have been😂 I appreciate the support! God bless man!
John Boyle Hey brother! Thanks for the support as always! I was really excited to get this video out because I know this is an issue that just never gets talked about as far as I know. About to drop off a load in CT tomorrow. God bless you and your family!
Thanks for reaching out! My personal choice is to run between 1100-1400loaded miles (2200-2800total). This week I needed more than the usual for extra bills that came in and so I had to run 1550loaded (3100total). My average loaded mile was $1.31 between the two trips I took.
Thanks for asking the question! Loctite threadlocker can only do so much with those moving parts. There is no direct pressure forcing them out, but they just need to not fall out. A strong tape just keeping it in place has done the trick for the last week with no movement.
or just a replacement for the whole part. the part that bends not what ist attached to. i can only find it with the part attached to the part that goes through the rubber and the rubber to.

So happy to help my friend!! I hope it works well for you!
Just bought for under $20 bucks, delivered.
wow, very useful tip here. I just ordered this and think it might be the solution for my steering issue.
1/2inch ×20 thread coils tap right in tight, then snip them off flush, hose clamp keeps them in
Any update on how it went? Its 40 bucks for it and hoping its worth it lol
Do you know the OD and wall thickness of the bushings?
Thinkin 1/2 in tube .065 wall looks close.

I can’t believe two years later, and your videos is still incredibly useful! Thanks a lot.
Hello where can I buy those two ring
Could you use a hose clamp tightened over the bushings to hold them in?
Yes, in fact this is what EMF recommends in their instructions as an alternate to Red Locker.
Did this on my 06 mega cab it helped, then up graded my steering and adjusted the gear box and got the slop out.
I ordered these and got a slight steering pump noise..passing fluid sounds. is that normal?
Me too the rubber is supposed to take that noise away now it sends it up to the steering wheel
Great advice! I know mine have where in them and I plan on getting under there at first light and checking it out. Love your videos! Be safe out there

Genial manera de solucionar ese maldito juego en la columna de dirección de las RAM con dos bujes metálicos bien clavados
Liked and subscribed, 2000 Laramie 2500 24V. Anything to keep this ol’ girl chugging down the road!

Big Fat Weenie hopefully it is! It’s at least a cheap thing to fix. I hope it works out for you. Please let us know how it goes for you! God bless!

You're very welcome

You have the link where you buy please
Seems like it would put a lot of stress on the bolt head and snap it clean off. I wonder if bolting a longer grade 8 all the way through would work.

Couldn’t you use a hose clamp around the repair? Wouldn’t that keep the aluminum “widgets” from backing out of the holes?
Carl Jones I think that would work perfectly! Great idea Carl! I appreciate you reaching out!
Exactly my first thought!
my truck doesn't have a spot to place these bearings....? Is this only on certain trucks? I have an 03 cummins
Bill Gates hmmm, they must have a different steering shaft on there on previous year. Maybe there’s something else down the line that has rubber bushings of some kind that have worn out on yours? I wish I could help further!
@@HighMileageHelper No problem brotha I appreciate the response!

Hey Daniel that looks like a good repair

FYI, fits +03, not for second gen, we can either get the rocksolidsteeringfix or get the entire intermediate shaft, preferably borgeson?
Great video bro, keep on cranking out content!
Christopher East Thanks Chris! I appreciate the support bro! Gotta share as much as I can! 😎
Dig videos like this. Save some money and learn a bit more about your truck. A+
Max Perilous Hey Max! So glad to be a help. As always, I really appreciate the support! Stay safe and God bless man!
A simple Hose Clamp would hold those bushings in.Just an idea.
Excellent presentation. Very clear. Thanks for sharing. Greetings and respect to all from Durango Mexico
oooowweeee look at the beard! another great video buddy
Ander Sixxin Hey Zane! Thanks for reaching out! Haha trying to keep it a little more contained than I have been😂 I appreciate the support! God bless man!
I'm wondering if you could just use a high strength epoxy?
That's worth a try!
Daniel God bless you my friend. Great video really helps. Stay safe and see you on the next..!!
John Boyle Hey brother! Thanks for the support as always! I was really excited to get this video out because I know this is an issue that just never gets talked about as far as I know. About to drop off a load in CT tomorrow. God bless you and your family!
Watched the video couple time i kno this is a year after video been posted but i cant seem to find a link .
Is there only 2 or 2 on each side ?
There’s one on each side! 1 set of 2 will do the trick! God bless
Using a tie rod puller is money for installing the bushing easily and I used a hose clap around it with red loctite .
On average about how many miles do you usually get per week thanks
Thanks for reaching out! My personal choice is to run between 1100-1400loaded miles (2200-2800total). This week I needed more than the usual for extra bills that came in and so I had to run 1550loaded (3100total). My average loaded mile was $1.31 between the two trips I took.
@@HighMileageHelper thanks man. I am fixing to get a truck and have my uncle drive it to supplement his income and a little extra for me too
I wonder if this has anything to do with death wobble.
No.
What’s the diameter of these ?
Betraying my ignorance with a probably stupid question, I presume you wouldn't want to hold those in with duct tape?
Thanks for asking the question! Loctite threadlocker can only do so much with those moving parts. There is no direct pressure forcing them out, but they just need to not fall out. A strong tape just keeping it in place has done the trick for the last week with no movement.
@@HighMileageHelper Again, my ignorance: is there any danger of fire?
GONAVYDAS05 there are no wires/electric immediately around that shaft.
It makes you wish this guy was your neighbor!
i dont want those i want the rubber inside.
or just a replacement for the whole part. the part that bends not what ist attached to. i can only find it with the part attached to the part that goes through the rubber and the rubber to.
What a poor factory design!
You can put them in with a hammer.just be easy
