I was vibing high and thoughts popped up reflecting that... as soon as I started entertaining thoughts of lack... then thoughts popped up as "I should give up ... blah blah blah... then I Consciously said in my head what I'm grateful for and the energy changed which produced better thoughts

Excellent explanation! Thanks for this. Actually, I still have this doubt about the term "I" that is used in the Advaita system, because it can be easily mistaken for the ego. Awareness makes it more clear cut. In Buddhism, it is more clear cut since the Buddha makes it clear that there is no individuality, only awareness.

Are you familiar with the story of Buddha and Mara? Did you know that Mara means bitterness in Hebrew and Buddha is acknowledging his enemy in a friendly manner knowing that his enemy will know that he is cared for and in that Mara has the opportunity to become his friend.
As you may know, Mara represents those things antonymous or antagonistic in nature to enlightenment primarily death ( to) desire and ( by) rebirth.
However, these attributes are actually descriptive of the process to enlightenment.
biblically it is death burial and resurrection Exampled by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
Moreover, Mara also represents our wounded inner child.
As in the story Buddha Acknowledges Mara, by saying , " I See You", as Mara was hiding in the bushes just like our unacknowledged and unaccepted issues represented as our wounded inner child and then treats him with love and kindness as an honored guest by offering him tea and a pillow to sit on.
It is the same attitude we should have of all of our issues that become our wounded inner child for when they surface , we should acknowledge and accept in loving kindness when we see them hiding in the bushes and be hospitable allowing our guest to stay as long as he likes and to be in whatever state he is in, instead of seeking war in resistance of it.
for ex. When any issue like rejection is acknowledged , accepted in loving kindness and you give it a place to be, it transforms into its antonymous nature like a caterpillar into a butterfly.Within the tomb of its chrysalis.
    Rejection transforms into acceptance
    Abandonment into
i will never leave you or forsake you.
Abuse / neglect into Caring for
    Betrayal into loyalty faithfulness
    Degrade / devalue into Value
    Violated into comply or respect
    Robbed into compensate
    Unloved into loved etc.
And as this happens in our hearts it augments change in our character and frees us to love those outside of ourselves as we participate in loving our wounded inner child inside of ourselves. This is the key to "healing and becoming" As the issues Contrary to love become that which is place upon it ( acceptance and love ) as exampled by Buddha in this story and by Jesus when he says to love your enemies.....
For in doing so your enemy becomes your friend.

Is there more steps to this practice other than meditating and watching youre thoughts

    • @selfinquiryschool
      @selfinquiryschool  3 роки тому +10

Why look for more steps? You leave it to the mind and it will continue to look for more and more things and continue to look towards the future for something :) But understand that meditation is not just what you do with your eyes closed sitting down. It is a whole transformation of the way you understand yourself and life.
