Watching for the second time and I may watch that for even more in the future. You spread joy because you simply understand what teaching is all about. Your video is not less engaging than other videos from a real classroom which is a new success added to your way! May you always stay energetic, humble, unique and creative! Thanks a million for sharing this. You just have NO idea how much inspiration you add to us here.
Note that the Four Color Theorem only applies when you are willing to share colors among countries and bodies of water. A separate color reserved only for water would require five colors.
You are my inspiration sir....you are hope for millions....due to u I learn how to go in in a life ...now I started my channel hope u see that....just posted videos on Differentiation...hope u will enjoy that
Greetings Sir, I'm Harshit from India. The second map you drew would require a minimum of 3 colours.(not even 4) I started with the enclosed country (top left)and coloured red all regions alternatively. The country surrounding the enclosed nation was coloured blue. And so were it's alternative nations. Finally, the nation with most neighbours and the top right country was coloured green. I hope you find my observations legitimate. RSVP :)
I have coloured the first one with three colours and the second one with four colours, before you sir. Mine first one was same as you but second one was different from you sir.
Thank you for this Mr. Woo. I want learn maths from the beginning. Do you have any published books on maths? Do you have any online portal where distant people can learn?
NickB I’m pretty sure you have to have the nsw education email to get in this live, otherwise just go to The Australian Government website and there should be a page with educational live-streams
Basically it's a hard problem to optimise perfectly unless you're really thinking about it, and it would take most people quite a bit of time to get right with only 4 (plus a 5th colour for water since we are constrained about where we can draw blue on this map). If you look at Ukraine in brown on the map, it neighbours every other colour (salmon, purple, green, yellow, orange). Imagine you are the map maker and you have just shaded the rest of Europe; Ukraine is the last country to colour. You have the option either to go back and make revisions to some neighbouring countries, which then require flow-on changes all across the map, in order that you eliminate brown (AND another colour) and hopefully you don't get stuck somewhere else, or just use 6 colours instead of 4. I'm sure there is a 'perfect' 4 colour world map out there but why should Gregory's Maps care?
You are the reason why I started teaching Mathematics online. I remain loyal. 💪💪

Then why world map has more than 4 colours. Does the theorem fail.
They just coloured it with more colours, but they didn't have to.
