I love your channel and information. I subscribed on May 12, you had dropped a video saying if you wanted to buy and RV now is the time you could get 50 percent off. Well we had planned on purchasing a used Tiffin when I retire in 2 years. The next day we were at the dealer. We had been researching for 5 years, we new what floor plan and model we wanted. We got a great deal because the RV dealer had been shutdown and just opened that week. We ordered a 2021 Tiffin 36LA Open Road and took possession 9/10. Thank you 😊

We have Southvault Smart Surveillance in our RV the camera will record any movement for up to about 10 seconds and it will send us an alert. We will see the video then make the call to police if needed. We put Southvault in after 2 break-ins. I do like this Reolink set up for outside. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and healthy.

Thanks for another excellent video. We are looking into a security camera for our new 5th wheel and this is one of 2 we are considering. The other is a Ring Stick-Up camera which is part of the system we have on all sides of our sticks & bricks. The Ring works well but the magnetic mount on this one is what I think elevates it a bit above the Stick--Up. The fact that Endless RVing & Big Truck Big RV both like it make it an excellent choice!

We have a ring type doorbell out in the front door area of our condo. It’s extremely useful as I had med delivery not deliver to the correct address. When I told the delivery company and the pharmacy that I had no record of the delivery on my camera doorbell they quickly sent a replacement 👍🏻✅. It saved me from missing my very important meds😢😷

I see so many young people, with headphones on or in their ears, listening to music...talking on cell phones, when their walking.. I seen a lady on a cell phone, she nearly ran into me! How can they hear anyone, coming upon them..? They have to have music or something, going on with ear buds or headphones, constantly. Nature's sounds, are very soothing.

The only thing about the Reolink is the lag time between the camera seeing something and the time you get the alert and from the alert to the time it loads to play it. I have their double camera unit on my house, great picture, great view80+ feet from left to right and from house to street. I can walk out to my truck, get in, start it and drive onto the street and I will finally get the alert that I walked out of the house, a minute later I get the alert of my truck leaving the driveway. I have the camera located 12’ from the router, I have anywhere between 380-420 megs at any given time. No excuse for the lag. The only thing I feel it’s good for is a deterrent especially at night because mine has lites on it when it sense motion. It will suffice for now until I find a way to put a wired camera in because I want to be able to see at the time not 3 minutes afterwards.

Our KA came with security cameras but we really haven't needed them much. I have used them to show campground management someone walking around and looking at the campsite. My front one caught him doing it at the site across from us. The latest trend I am seeing is RVers installing Simply Safe™ systems in their RVs. They're trying to expand to the RV market.

I would be interested in a follow-up real world use. Did they fall off during travel? No wifi campgrounds, did you lose all views? The solar panel will need sun, when campgrounds have slight or ?high shade. Did the battery die if they are used. If they were front facing, then every time someone walked by, they would record, and soon die.

Izzy, I know this video was done a couple years ago. I'm not looking for the most expensive cameras for my Rv, just want something that will work off my RV internet connection where I can look at a live view of the inside or outside of RV. I do have a Rerolink cameras and dvd for home use and it works well. Does you video still go for these cameras in your video or is there an update on new camera models? Our RV sits in a off site RV storage facility it would be nice to see if its still there, did the tore covers blow off etc?

Hey Izzy, very thorough explanation of the ReoLink system. Right now we use a simple web cam that we can control pan and tilt with our phones so we can watch the dogs and the temperature while we are out for short periods of time. We are building a NAS system into our network soon which can accommodate surveillance cameras. Love the Cops perspective here. I cant wait to see if those cameras will stay on the roof at high speed, LOL . Larry

I give a thumbs up because after a lot of thought I feel this is a very good video. However I’ve had my Rv vandalized right in front of my house 3 times in the past two years and I expect this to be an ongoing thing. These cameras can be knocked off with a stick in a matter of seconds. I will spend the extra money for a professional electrician to wire up 4 cameras that will shine a light on an intruder, record him and sound a siren as well as inform you on your phone. The system plugs into any outlet in my van which is run off my inverter. I have 200 watts solar panel that charge my batteries.

A few questions , we are a few months out from delivery on our first RV (Geo pro 15 tb) as we move from long trail hikers to getting off the ground and no longer being “cat hole” people ! We also have an off grid cabin in northern Maine so looking to address both security situations. After a year now would you still recommend this? What, if any concerns or suggestions do you have. How well does this work in iffy cell service areas. Does that impact performance and battery use. Finally, can you easily suspend its use if, for example, someone was using our cabin with permission in our absence. Great channel..retired FD/EMS so appreciate your info and expertise. Getting caught up on your content as we move from trail/tent dwellers to this RV world. Thanks

Quick question: are these cameras essentially asleep (to preserve battery life) and essentially turn on AND connect to the WIFI when motion is detected? Thinking to use such a system when car camping and tethered to my iPhone's hotspot. Just wondering if the camera is eating up data 24/7.

I wonder how well the camera will stay attached should the magnet lose a little bit of it’s magnetism whilst being constantly vibrated when travelling. I’ve got to admit they do look quite impressive though, technology seems to move forward so fast. It can’t be long before you’ll be able to pan the camera’s around via a device. 👍🏻

    Izzy,
If you said how far it transmits, I missed it. The problem I have with all of these is that I need it to transmit 400 feet down a tree lined lane. If it doesn't do that then it won't work for me.

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  3 роки тому +2

The camera does not have a transmission range per say. What you need to focus on is your WiFi setup. You probably need several repeaters to saturate your area with WiFi. We have the google nest 2 wireless routers and we can get signal all around our home and outside our home.
The cameras will work as long as they pick up your WiFi.
      Hope that makes sense.

@@EndlessRVing Thanks, yes it does unfortunately I am tied into the "dsl gateway" router supplied by my phone company. It is registered by serial number to their service and there is no way to extend it. The signal would have to do though the woods to the camera. Izzy, you didn't rate the product after installation. How did it work when you went on long distance trip? Did you feel after you put the Dicor on the base that it was safe to travel at your normal operating speed? I presume the you remove the other 3 cameras to get them charged? I looked at their site no humans available.

I have the Argus 2 and it is not motion driven but rather infrared driven. What that means is that my vehicle, which is parked directly in front of the camera, isn't recorded when I drive it because there was not enough difference in the infrared spectrum to activate the sensor. It never records my wife's car backing out of the garage as she's going to work even though her vehicle is within eight feet from the camera.

As a retired LEO myself the issue with cameras is they don't prevent the crime only record it. Very very rarely does an agency spend time investigating property crimes involving car prowl/s. Today would be thieves know that odds are they won't be caught and more importantly won't see jail even if caught. Cameras do not deter thieves. If they did this site (and others) wouldn't have countless videos of thieves at work. I always tell folks when they say, "Maybe I should put a camera in" I respond with..."You'll get to watch first hand it getting stolen while not being able to do anything about it". (stomach sinking feeling LOL). Best advice....give them nothing to steal.

But if they are psycho vengeful and destroy everything with chemicals and poison your food and want to kill you, then you have proof. I suggest all apartment renters and RV campers get a camera but never tell your neighbors. I had it happen to me and lost everything. My neighbors were cooking meth and had the apt owner as a friend and a cop who got kick back. They wanted me GONE. I did move out but all my stuff was no good. I lost about $100,000 and all my hair and went to ER twice and they just gave me a pamphlet to call the Poison hotline. The police said they went to school with this guy and no way he was doing that. I had proof. I called the court house to check on my case after I filed a report and they said didn’t see anything. It was a living nightmare. I still can’t sleep at night.
