Not really made for that. Its for heavy lures 30gr plus. I throw 60 -150gr lures.

as long as the spools are narrow on these baitcasters that have a disengaging levelwind that angle be fine it not sharp enough to cause casting issues .They say the narrow spool and disengaging levelwind cast farther and save the worm gear in long run.

That would be good. Looks an interesting reel. Might invest later in year. If do will make a comparison video.

Great reel. I owna a few kastking reels. This company makes affordable and dependable equipment. Would recommend them to any fisherman
I’d disagree completely with that statement. Every reel I’ve ever bought from them, the brakes are terrible.
My bad! Hey, damn it... I didn’t see it, originally, there is a damn fastener with “open/close” on it. NEVER seen that on a reel, and when I was putting line on the reel, I must have clicked it to “open.” When face plate and spool fell in the drink, obviously, I couldn’t see what happened. KastKing sent me the new parts, and I realized the damn face plate fastener needed to be closed. KastKing was awesome to work with on this. They took care of replacing parts very quickly-were very good about returning emails. Shout out to Paul at KastKing... and the whole customer service team! Reel feels solid-can’t wait to try it out! (The Diawa Lexa I bought does not have this feature, so I wasn’t looking for it...)
I must admit it is an awkward thing to work. The only thing i dont like about the reel. I like you have always found their after sales service great. Glad you worked it out. Sure you will love the reel.
Mine’s drag just started slipping 😭 great reel though I have beat the heck out of mine for a year wit that the first problem at all ! Time for a tear down vid some one ?
Im not great with taking them apart. I guess you always back your drags off at end of day so as not to compress washers? Maybe some oils got on them? Must be able to get new washers somewhere.

I’m new to using bait-casters, though been fishing my whole life. Bought a similar size Diawa, Lexi... really solid. I like this reel, damnit, but the side and spool disengages/pops off easily... anyone else? (Company did replace parts that fell off while out on the bay in my kayak...)
Its nice when they have the plate pop open but remain attached.
Mine lasted a year. Break fail then the drag has a clicking sound and makes it hard to reel in. 😅m currently testing a Megajaws elite

Up to Now my 1st Best Reel. I Paired it with Speed Demon Pro 8'-0 Mag Swimbait Cast Rod. My Second Would be My Spinning Reel Kastking Sharky III 5000 Paired with Speed Demon Pro Spin Jig/Worm 7'-3" Spinning Rod. Best @kastkingusa
Love Kastking gear. Here in the Uk it’s not as easy to get. Really like the look of the latest Zephyr Spinning real it reminds me of my Kodiak which I love. Have a Zephyr BFS baitcaster which is a great reel and by the looks of things they have improved it further. People just do not believe for the price they are that good but we know different. How many yards of 65lb braid did you put on it? Thank you. It has a graphite frame, do you think its frame is strong enough for 10lb of drag? I know the drag rating is way higher, but its frame may not survive that amount of pressure. Thank you.
About 200yards of Kastking Superpower 65lb mate. Thinner braids more.
After owning this reel for a few months, it just doesn't compare to the
Piscifun Alios 300 for added features/options, aluminum build and the
price.
The line strength dial on the side is a novelty. Also has a bit of
play/rattle in the handle. And i could care less about the
packaging.Only thing going for it is, the clicker...
It's ok, though there's room for improvement.
I bought the Alios on Aliexpress for around $100 Australian.
The Kapstan was around $130 Australian on Amazon.
Heard a lot of good things about the Alios. My Kapstan is still performing well. I think the problem is there are now better reels on the market for a similar price. I fancy a Lews Super Duty or the Alios.
@@TheConstantAngler Exactly. it must be brutal out there for companies to make a profit but, it's the world we live in unfortunately. i just feel the Kapstan wasn't all it was cracked up to be. The Alios is a proper beast.! Was looking at the Lews but, "they" sold me on the Kapstan haha.

I have the piscifun spark pro and the alloy m and can't get over how the thumb bar and clutch seem to bind up when there is an load on the spool, to the point where I'll have to force the thumb bar down just to get my lure off of hook holder on the rod. Does the Alijos have a similar issue?
@@MrDjones55 that is common for baitcasters. It causes pressure in the gears and the clutch moves the pinion gear which is bound up. Most any baitcaster will be tough with spool tension. I just take some line out with drag to take pressure off. Some might not be as bad as others but my scorpion dc does it too. Can't really get around it... Alijoz has what Shimano call x-ship which is pinion gear bearing support and that also is why this happens. The alloy m also has it. Makes the tolerances so close and tight the little pressure matters when releasing clutch.
how is the casting distance ? can i do shore jigging with this ( 11ft rods rated 30-10 gr with 60-80 gr jigs aiming for 100-120 meters of casting distance )Have you had any braid digging into spool problem? Thanks
Its good for what its used for but i would think a Penn 525 or some sort of dedicated saltwarter multiplier would be better.
Line lay is ok but im using 60lb braid so what it would be like with thinner braid not sure. I would think it will cast far enough but it is a big heavy real so what it would be like on your rod im not sure. To give you an idea of size have a look at my Spartacus Maximus vid i show the 2 side by side.

Yeh definitely. They have caught massive Alligator Gar on them not to mention Catfish. I had a 25lb Pike on for a while before it shook the hook so no probs there bud.

@@amigochino1 not sure i just wacked on 65lb Kastpro but it has a large spool. Need to put new on will measure when i do and let you know.

This reel will handle anything just don't smash on truck bed or drop on ground or abuse

@@TheConstantAngler I have a savage gear big Pike rod. It's around 8ft and can cast up to 300g lures. Not sure if this reel will comeback in stock soon would you be able to recommend me a reel in another make please?
@@GameCastCubed Shimano Tranx300 or 400 depending on size needed is best but expensive, Abu Revo Toro Beast, Okuma Komodo ss , Shimano Curado in larger sizes. Hope that helps.

I need more line on my reel thats why I'm thingking of buying this instead of maximus. But I'm worried I'll be getting more backlash with it bcoz it has only centrifugal brake unlike the maximus with two brakes.
Planning to pair it wit my medium heavy rod 25lb Rock fishing infront of Pacific ocean and its a bit windy here. Sorry for my bad english
+Purple Grey No worries. Its meant for casting lures of 30gr and much bigger. If you want to throw lighter lures then Maximus would be better. I typically throw 80gr plus lures with it when fishing for Pike. Its basically a Muskie reel.

Not really made for that. It will struggle. I throw 60 - 150gr+ lures on it.

Hi Lorenzo. It's not as good as the Shimano Tranx but that is the best. The button next to the centrifugal brakes is for a ratchet/clicker the dial in the middle of the end plate turns so you can record the pound line you are using. It's a good reel and has never let me down but my friend has a Tranx and it is much better quality. Thanks for your support. Hope that helps.
