I have two of these, purchased for a Musky trip in Upstate NY, now use on the Eastern Shore. Greatest reel for the money! I didn't realize when I purchased how good they were.
I was pleasantly surprised with this reel. I quickly bought a second one after getting this one, but with the double handle. You can buy the power handle separately. How did the musky trip go? They are on my bucket list.
@@TomyTekOutdoors I purchased the power handle, it looks great but I seem to always gravitate to the original handle reel. Musky trip was great, went to 1000 Island area of New York, caught smallmouth, northern pike but no Musky. Went a few times because the area is so nice, different from the Mid Atlantic area we are used to. Loved pitching out giant musky lures all day, got a few follow ups. Next time will hire a guied.
@@underdogoutdoors It seems like the regular handle would be better for a lot of casting and retrieving. That's awesome. You get em' soon. I heard they were a fish of 10,000 casts. I'm likely get a guide for my trip. I'd like to try the upper Potomac at some point from a kayak.
@@TomyTekOutdoors I believe you know more about boats than I do. Do you know anything about G3 boats? I'm looking to purchase a new G3 Bay 20 GX, to use on the Choptank river. Not easy to find reviews. Was looking at War Eagle & Sea Ark which are more pricey.
@@underdogoutdoors I don't have personal experience with them, but I have friends that have them and they are happy with them. Steve from Backyard Custom Rods has one with a jet motor and uses it to fish skinny rocky areas in rivers. I would only use those types of boats in rivers, which is what you are planning to do. That Bay 20 GX boat looks really nice. If I could have 2 boats, I would get that and a bigger boat to fish open water. I like my 22 Judge because I can use it almost anywhere that I like to fish and crab.
