Dream Greenhouse: Construction attaching the greenhouse plastic film
Вставка
- Опубліковано 17 лис 2021
- Part 3:
The greenhouse walls are built from a specialised tear resistant plastic film. It is a two person job to accurately wrap and attach the plastic sheeting to the greenhouse frame.
The plastic film is attached to wooden battens to stop it touching the metal frame. In our hot Australian summers the plastic will perish if it touches the hot metal.
It is important to not have slack areas as they can flap in the wind and wear out more quickly.
very nice job
Thank you very much!
Thanks, guys.
You're welcome :), cuit cat
what sheeting did you use? is it by frost king and what mill thanks beautiful green house by the way
Hi Casara, I asked at the shop, but they no longer make this plastic film, it is no longer available. Cheers Karen
Hot air torch/blower will tighten up the plastic as long as your careful❤️🏴
Thanks for the suggestion, good to know if we need it in the future
Where did you get your plastic from? do you have a link please.
Hi Glenn, the plastic film is from Mitre10. I need to look up the details. Cheers Karen
Love video. Can you recommend plastic type and distributor and specs ?
Finally I can! Redpath Greenhouses, Bagshot Victoria, Australia, (near Bendigo) www.redpath.com.au stocks 3 types of greenhouse film in various widths and lengths, whihc can be delivered by courier (a bit expensive). I found them very helpful when I recenlty bought some for a friend. Also Sage Horticultural. I thought they used to be only wholesale but I think they sell to the public now. Cheers
Thank you 👍🏼 we ended up using polycarbonate sheets 😊
@@kathrynjames1019 Also good. 😀
Which Staple Gun and what size Staple did you use to secure the plastic sheet with wood?
Hi Tahsin, It was a 10mm size staple. Cheers Karen
