I thought it was time to paint my 1st ever self-portrait using the mixed media collage way. This project gave me the opportunity to not only make a little fun of myself and my inherent social awkwardness but also show the difference between introversion and anti-socialization. I am so uncomfortable in crowds of people... especially strangers. I also require quite a bit of alone time which is probably why I chose painting over playing live music. It's far easier for me to stand in front of the cyclopean eye of a camera than it is to perform in front of a live audience.
This community has been so accepting of my quirks, my sense of humor, and my creativity that I am left in awe the majority of the time. I love you all and thank you for being here, engaging and continuing to support me and what I do.

Thats a wondrful self portrait, being a fellow artist I'm very reclusive, same as you I choose to be, I paint most days... techniques are similar too, I use acrylics for some applications but the end process or the top layer is 99% oil. Love your work and your presentation which makes me smile ❤❤

Hi Lydia, I discovered your videos a week ago and I love your personality and your creations. I live in Switzerland and came to Boston as an au pair a few years ago. I would have liked to meet you! I also paint, my father was an artist and I started painting in my turn, I am self-taught. Painting is a need and allows me to escape and put my emotions on a canvas.
