Ann Richards was an amazing woman, and an incredible governor. She is gone, but will never be forgotten. I'm so glad to have the reminders posted here of her powerful speaking style and charisma.

We loved Ann in Texas. She was a true Texan - spoke her mind, no BS, just straight talk - and that's what a great leader does. RIP great lady.

Hunter Jackson True words you have said. But Ann must be smiling upon Beto from heaven above. May she protect him and guide him with grace throughout his senate race.

Yes, I loved her. She gave the commencement address at my daughter's December 2005 UT/Austin graduation. It was the best graduation address I've ever heard. In addition to being totally proud of my daughter,I was beside myself getting to hear the great Ann Richards in person.

Too bad Emily's List can't see fit to post the whole speech. Those of us who were fortunate enough to have been there will never forget it.

She would have been a fine president.
And she could have given this speech yesterday.
Please get out and vote. Consider Obama/Biden.

Then 3 years later, Bush sent America to a studip illegal war that killed millions! Oh and led it to a Recession....she was right to hate them! They were craven and depraved

She had the gift of gab..but her well left of center views knocked her out before she could ever stand up.
She truly was no plus for Texas...lots of color..but little substance.
    None of it worked...
