    We usually lean the bike all the way over on a small incline n drain gas from the vent hose into a Poland Spring bottle. Fast and easy.

    Dude u know how much money I could made I came up with something like this few years back I had a old wire harness and was trying to figure out a fuel pump issue even after replacing the harness so I cut the plug off the old 1 so I could put leads to a battery in hope of noise never did I think of getting some hose and transferring gas tho I was just chasing electrical

    There was a young lady at the Shady Burro last year that forgot to gas her bike before starting😮. She was stuck on the transfer about as far away from help as one can get. I was unable to help because I was on a small tank MX bike and barely made it to the re-fuel point on fumes. Fortunately someone was able to give her some gas because I saw her later in the race. Point being, I’ve seen several riders and a couple of friends run out of gas away from the truck, gotta have a plan.

    Neat concept but Id be embarrassed to have to need this because I was not smart enough to test or get fuel out any of the 37 other ways...

      Like??? I mean you could tank the tank off and dump it. You could make a hose and fitting that just opens up the fitting but then you don’t have any control. You could siphon it (which is probably the second best option) but that requires a long hose and probably getting gas in your mouth. Love to know the 34 other ways.

    • @SkinnySkinch
      @SkinnySkinch Рік тому

      @@highlandcycles Yeah probably for most. I always pull my tank off when I wash the bike so it's pretty quick and easy for me just seems normal. 4 bolts holding the shrouds to the radiators, 1 tank bolt to the frame, disconnect fuel line and unplug fuel pump and the tank lifts right off with the shrouds still attached. I use a 12V Milwaukee impact so taking the bolts out is a breeze. I will say the Husky plastics were designed poorly and you have to take both the air filter cover and the right side airbox plastic cover off in addition to take the tank off the same way you would on the KTM which makes it a little more of a job on the husky. KTM Is super quick though. As far as the 2023s go I have no experience with those yet so not sure if taking tank off is the same procedure or not.

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  Рік тому

      @@SkinnySkinch it’s easy to do but this is much easier and when you’re on the side of a trail this is WAY easier. I don’t carry impacts on the trail lol. Also, I always spill gas dumping it out of the filler. This makes it so you don’t lose any.

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  Рік тому +1

      But why? That works but then you are done drinking out of that for a while and and this is pretty cheap compared to everything else on some of these new bikes.

      A diagnostic tool that tests your fuel pump and pumps gas that costs $29 and lasts forever is a waste of money?
      But destroying a water bladder that costs about the same for a one time use and doesn’t give you a diagnostic test capability isn’t?
      When I come down off of all the drugs I’m taking to make it through some of these comments I think I’ll have a good chuckle at this one

      Did you watch it? Obviously in the shop its easy but on the trail, taking the tank off is harder than just the seat and you will spill gas dumping it out of the filler. Siphoning is fine but you still have to have a hose (longer one) and then you get to have gas in your mouth. This little kit is great for the FI bikes. I love my carb bike for easy transfer too.

    • @MitchOfCanada
      @MitchOfCanada Рік тому +1

      You can 1 . Jerk the hose to start the siphon. 2. do a little sucky to get your ass out of there. 3. use two hoses , plug top of tank with hand, or something, and pressureize the tank up to start the siphon (like blowing into the vent hose when draining a carbed bike tank).
      Almost EVERYONE will have camel back (use that hose and sacrifice it).
      Usually if we are with smaller bikes, we pack 4 litres, everyone carries 250ml bottle with us. you usually only gotta carry it for abit.
      Also littlebikes. ALWAYS set the float WAY tight, so they dont lose so much gas when tipped over.
      Smartcarb/lectron on little bikes, pays foritself in a year for the fuel savings!
