I have a sad orchard and a zero budget. weeks ago i broke through the 8 inch hardpan and tossed afew scoops of gypsum....three weeks later the trees are clearly waaay healthier. Building soils is a process, im exited for the adventure. Thank you.
Recreational farmer...mighty impressive...healthy soil summit...sorry I missed it. Where do I find your lecture notes. yes K.I.S.S. I HAVEN'T heard the acronym referred to lately. Dennis when is soil breathing?? Measured by which long probe you demonstrating today??Dennis
Yes, the professors are very well educated, and withhold information, but that’s only half of it, they can’t speak plain English and they don’t or can’t offer a wide spectrum of solutions. What I’d like to see from the colleges is to match the time they spend talking about agriculture with action, not just a test plot, but actually go help farmers in the field, farmers might appreciate it, if they ask politely first and present a comprehensive proposal in writing.
@@SoilWorksLLC-GSRCalcium I have just Subscribed and Wanted to say "Thank You!"!! Loved the presentation and totally Agree 💯 with Each and Every Word you said!! Check your soil PH / NPK levels and get a penetrometer...If you have little compaction get a rear tine tiller if it's really compacted run a tractor with a subsoiler through your garden (or get a smaller ATV hitch sub soiler / ripper)
Buy a penetrometer, take measurements, and break up your compacted soil with a chisel point subsoiler / ripper (as many points as your tractor can handle (about 70hp per deep chisel))...take more measurements with penetrometer....wait
Pretty good looking cat"... great presentation...Dennis i have to catch the entire presentation ..oh man sick animals going to slaughter....sickening....
@denniskermitz1381 Lol 😆 That's what got me!! Good luck with your gardening!! I'm an old organic farmer, I've been a Veterinarian, and I have had a good look at what the critters are getting sick with and what's getting them now that we didn't see Decades ago!! Well, I've just got a garden now and I'm keeping it organic!! (!When I get the damned Patios Shifted!! ) Andrea and Critters. .XxX... Ps, Or great luck with your farm!! Because I might be mistaken!!
I’m no till organic, cover crop, and controlled traffic. After 22 years of it, SOM is over 10%, and like potting soil. Even after grazing it with Dexters and sheep. Tillage is not the answer. Organic farming is proving to be an environmental disaster due to all the tillage most are choosing to do. Not all my ground is that good. I have new land I acquired along the way that has a ways to go. But it’s going in the right direction. Take a little more ground every year and put it in no till. Don’t bet the farm by being a fanatics by doing it all at once. But it will work long term

Green manure, my grandad swore by it in the 60s. The science is proving him right in the 2000s. Produce, fallow, produce.
Thank you for this intresting and clear video about soil health.
Great information and very enjoyable 😉
