I’m the owner of a small construction company, i bought this saw a few years ago (2020) because my dewalt was having problems. I build about 6-10 decks a year and this saw was used to cut all the steel/aluminum railings to size. It’s not ideal for precision wood working but it’s proven it’s worth many times over, this saw has taken an absolute beating for me.

My saw came just like that. Left table was a tad lower. I put a couple layers of duct tape on it to make it flush. I also contacted Evolution and asked if there was any way to adjust it. They asked me to send a picture of the issue and then sent me a replacement saw. The base on the new saw was flush all the way across. It was a bit of a pain disassembling the original to send it back but at least now I don't have to deal with the tape. And the great customer service was refreshing. I'm also very happy with the quality of the cuts I get with this saw. Goes thru 11 gauge tubing like a knife thru butter.

I have been completely happy with mine. Yes it doesn't have the precision of other saws three times the price, but its perfectly fine for DIY and general carpentry. I have now done over 8000 cuts with mine and it works as well now as when it was delivered. Its already paid for itself.

I couldnt justify buying a dedicated cold cutting saw but for various reasons I didnt want an abrasive blade chop saw. The versatilty of this saw sold me on it.

This is only for rough work ,hence the price. If you want precision you have to pay for it .

You can level the left hand side of the table with two layers of metal tape! - No more rocking and you might not need your clamp extender.

I am no cabinet maker but if you are able to adjust most settings why would a more expensive saw be any more accurate? Or is it just tool snobbery?

Gotta agree it’s not that great a bit rough to b honest compared with the likes of Dewalt and Makita (all of which I’ve used ) but for the money it is what ude expect not as smooth or as accurate as the aforementioned it’s a case of ( as per usual in this world) u get what u pay for if u want more quality uve gotta pay for it

Buying cheaper means less money spent on the calibration out of factory. If you buy cheaper you have to expect to do more work to increase the accuracy. Same goes for any tool, like combi-squares, table-saws etc.

What do you expect for the price, Jesus. You want Festool quality for evolution money 🙈🤣 It’s just a cheap junk saw to abuse and nothing more really.

    • @jacklurcher5813

My thoughts exactly. I had the 'fury' (even cheaper version of this one) for around 10 years. Took a bit of work to get the back fence square and the clamps are indeed feeble (I just chucked them, it's not like you need them to chop a bit of 3x2). It did the job for numerous stud walls, decking, fence boards and posts, garden furniture, sheds and whatever else the Mrs wanted doing around the house and garden. It's just died (looks like the circuit board) but given the cost has worked out at about 3p a week up to now it's not worth repairing, I'll just strip the useable bits for spares, chuck it and buy another evolution one.
If I were using one for a living then I wouldn't buy the one in the video, I'd buy something for at least 4 times the price, but for DIY and house renovations you can't fault them for the money.
