- Ghost performing Monstrance Clock live from the Haze Over North America tour at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on April 15, 2013. This was shot with a Sony Cyber-shot HX9V.
I love the way they mix late 60's/early 70's west coast pop and 70's hard rock influences. I think "Monstrance Clock" has a very poppy quality to it, complete with sing along choruses and a very catchy tune.
One day, they will be the headliner of many big festivals!
You called it
Holy shit Papa sounds incredible live.
Beautifully haunting
It's so nice to hear bands like Ghost come out in a music scene that's been riddled with all these "core" bands. They have some of the catchiest, most enticing song I've ever heard. And don't even get me started on their hellacious stage shows. I can't wait for Papa Emeritus III to come, along with their third album. It's going to be monumental.
And they’re still going ❤
they're definitely an acquired taste but once you get into it you're hooked.a helluvalot different than the death and black metal i'm into but still catchy
I, too, am into death and black metal. This was actually the first song I heard from them. I was hooked immediately.
Going to see them in Boston 5/10/2013.. Cant wait Ghost is the best band ive heard in many years... Awesome Vid...
Thanks so much for upload, this band gonna be so big big big big!!
Thanks for uploading! Great Quality!
Hail Ghost! Hail Papa Emeritus II !
COME TOGETHER(come together) TOGETHER AS ONE(together as one)
COME TOGETHER(awww-ah) FOR LUCIFER'S SON(for Lucifer's son)
I got to slow dance with my woman to this song when they played in Alb. New Mexico on 4-19-13 in the middle of the crowd. It was absolutely perfect in every way.
Thank you Ghost for the classy musical black mass.
Can't wait to see them a thousand more times.
I saw these guys Wednesday and they were amazing
If you see them live you will understand why people love their live shows, the atmosphere is great and they give off energy in ways that don't show so easily on a youtube clip :)
I just got into this band. I love how they function. I've been listening to them non-stop since Friday. THEY ARE AWESOME!
relax man..this is music and art....to be enjoyed
Beautiful 🤘
thanks for the upload !! some of the best Ghost footage I've seen.
Thanks to my subscription to " TheRealConcertKing " I have discovered this unique group of Lucifer's children by the name of GHOST! After witnessing Monstrance Clock, I clicked on a related link of their whole new album, I listened to it 3 times in a row and I gotta say.. it's pretty fukin awesome!
my fave song of the whole album..excellent..!!
Thanks! I tried to do my best. Hopefully I'll get to see them again later this year and there will be more videos to upload!
i must see this band live..!
NO, YOU are not the only CATHOLIC that listens to Ghost B.C. I may have to go to confession after this weekend. THEY ARE SOOO KICK ASS. I can't stop listening to them.
This song is spellminding brilliant........
I love this band to no end.
really appreciate the upload dude!
even without being able to hear the guitars...this still kicks ass!
Thanks for leaving the comments.that was some funny shit!I just found out about Ghost in my current issue of Guitar magazine.Tony and Ozzy are on the cover! The article on Ghost was very interesting,so I decided to check them out on utube. Thanks for posting the video!
I was at this show. I drove all the way from san francisco to LA, and I would gladly do it again
i agree, best footage and sound quality of thier shows ive seen. i would give anything to go to a ghost concert, but this is as close as i can get, for now.
excellent live ..
Great song
This song is so damn good.
Tobias the Greatest artist of new millenium!
finally someone with some faith for Ghost being authentic!
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!
very nice work friend!
watching this footage is so much better than seeing them play at hail to the king. the true fans are here
Best Music
Yes.
You, sir, are doing it right.
a performance desses caras eh muito boa
Certainly the only one who chooses to watch their videos...
Saw them last night in Detroit, I actually really like these guys, they're super sick. They kind of give me the Alice Cooper vibe. They remind me a lot of him. It's awesome :)
Im brazilian dude..
and there is a lot of brazilians in Ghost videos,. because we love music., we respect music, we want to listen to new things.. if your dont like us, because we are ''monkeys'' simple, dont scroll down for comments :)
Ghost are Fucking awesome, in Sao Paulo , they made a fenomenal show..! Up THe Ghost.
e um abraço pra ti , e macaco é tua mae :)
It's men like these that are going to save music so that music can save the world. They make their live shows freaking shows.
Very nice quality but most of all an amazing band!!!
Finally I saw then live in Quebec ;) AND IT WAS FUCKING EPIC, I don't regret my 32$ for this amazing show. But I am disappointed to be in the negative comments when I am just asking a question, I'm not a troll, I just wanted to know if this band rocks live and I find the answer on my own
It's so funny and interesting at the same time that only on US boards discussions about Ghost are focused on their "Satanic" lyrics.
Dudes. Dudes!
Listen to the music, enjoy and remember not to take things so seriously, it's entertainment ;)
Fun
I'm Greasey Dick and I approve of this video.
It's all an act obviously.
The fact that we've never seen any of them out of character proves that point. They obviously put a lot of thought into this band's image and "backstory" if you will.
Papa himself is a three layered character. You have the frontman who plays him, and then the character he plays (Papa without costume), and then Papa himself. We know there is two sides to Papa because of the video for Year Zero, we actually see Papa as if he were a real person without the Pope costume.
Yeah, the mix at the show was awful, as you can tell from how ridiculously high the keyboard is.
Emeritus II , fucking awesome
I want to see them so bad, I want them to come to The Netherlands!
Their songs are awesome, their lyrics are awesome too, I don't give a fuck if they write songs about worshipping the devil and I also don't care about the devil or god or anything, the point is that their music makes me feel good specially monstrance clock and ritual, these songs somehow comfort me. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one, you don't have to be an atheist like me or a worshiper of the devil to enjoy this, in my opinion that's why they're so amazing, dark lyrics comforting people.
I can't wait to see them at Rock on the Range in a few weeks! Probably the band i'm most excited to see!
Alright, then i ask you how do you know this? Is this something you have read/heard in an interview for example? I would really like a source confirming this because i really cant just take your word for it.
I really hope they come to korea
Zach Saxton NEVAR LEL
and in the end we all became free........
Ghost does not play concerts, but they do ceremonies for the allmighty lucifer and ceremonies is more about the atmosphere and message than mindless screaming and headbanging.
Why is that particular word so common when it comes to talking about Ghost? "Gimmickry" has been a part of rock & metal since Elvis. The music here is the thing that caught my attention first, and all these side-activities add that little something special to the mix.
Caralho, canta de mais velho
it's not impossible - his eyes and ears are exposed and not under the mask. Just comparing ear shapes and the eye spacing gives you a very good comparison to match against someone else. I did it in San Diego for the Viejas Casino for 3 years
I will be checking these guys out on the Avenged Sevenfold tour!!
opeth + subvision + therion + candlemass + sacrosanct = ghost
Finally someone else said it. Ain't no red dude with horns, hooves, and tail.
Lucifer the fallen angel. The Light Bringer.
wuuuuuuuut??????????
Just you ghost rule
Being butthurt about Ghost's lyrics because you're religious is like being butthurt about the fast and furious movies because you're a car person. Not only is it not surprising, nothing you'd be saying to a ghost fan is going to really change their mind or matter. That said, this album is incredibly good. Funny that fresh music they is rooted in such classic sounds.
Papa II, anything after Infestissumam came out is Papa II (same singer, lorewise different person though)
Mexico legend says that the lord of light and the lord of darkness are brothers. Basically the lord of darkness causes all this havoc and the lord of light then asks his brother, "Do they get it yet? Or do you need to keep causing havoc until they understand that they are one?"
This is interesting because if the world were suddenly cleansed of all its problems overnight, a few would again cause havoc and ruin for everyone.
I just saw these guys last friday and I have to say up until the concert they played in I thought they would be horrible by what people said but then as the concert went on they grew on me and I have to say I actually like them now. As far as the satanic lyrics go Im not a fan but I just ignore that shit lol!
I love how the guitarists always have a slight mess up during the solos. Those masks are so cool but also cruel, I couldn't attempt playing that to save my life.
100% Agreed. I think the men behind the masks don't worship the devil off-stage.
ROCK IN RIO 2013 - BRAZIL
They're playing at Rock in Rio!
I'm confused...was this performance Papa I or Papa II? I'm new to the fandom...
well the money doesn't hurt.
i really think the whole subvision band are under those masks. At least three of them.
And SUBVISION
it seems pop music to me!
Why arent ppl singing along??
Is just me or they are really good but they don't give a show? It's like listen to the studio song, I don't know it they are always like this live. If there is no energy on stage it's hard for me to headbang but thanks for the upload
they've said in articles... They AREN'T satanists! What they are doing is art just like anyone else in the business except for pop artists.
I don't mean to toot my own horn, but 2:23-2:30 was pretty awesome, it looked like Papa was controlling my camera.
Papa II
I'm a christian who likes "Ghost" too.
Yall are missing the point. It's all about Lucifer the Light Bringer.
Not a red guy with horns.
hahahahahaha dude that is fucking hilarious
Then what do they believe in?
and some basslines...
I would'nt go as far as saying anything like that, i do believe that there is a god. i'm a baptist. but im competent enough to not let other's beleifs corrupt my own. and i love ghost to death and lyrically they don't bother me at all
lol yeah figures
and btw sorry for my bad english
I've done some research but i havent found anything confirming a religion behind the music so that's why i asked when someone claimed that they weren't satanists.
Indeed, they view Satan as a symbol for their philosophy rather than an idol to worship
i don't know :P
No this guy can actually sing.
I'm sorry for FreestylePortLive.
well most religions - I don't see people really openly mocking Hindu's or Buddhists. But yeah Judaism and Christianity take the most hits because they are the most prolific and they don't threaten to cut your head off if you mock them.
I'm sorry, there is a thing called "style" in music...it sort of shows up when grown men are not screaming at you in your headphones! I should know, I listened to men screaming at me for years, and now that I am old I like subtlety!
