I absolutely love my SHPE1500 ,bought it new in 2006 never had a single issue with it used it full time til this year. I love that everything on it is either stainless steel or plastic,I believe the only part mild steel is the auger itself and mine is like new yet I fluid film it every season before storage. I had it in a 3/4 ton short bed so a 2 yard until wasn’t really good option for me .I also load out of my own pile so the half yard wasn’t an issue,I can understand how it could be buying it by the yard…
I been running stainless motors driven spreaders for over 10 yrs. Finally tired of it…. If it’s not the carb, it’s the clutch, chain pops, bearing goes, or just flat out won’t start on that cold night. Then your pull cord snaps. Thinking of switching over
On mine I have to keep the vibrator on all the time otherwise it will not come out but it seems to come out more on the driver side and it doesn’t come out too much on the passenger side very uneven doesn’t really spread the greatest. Does the job
The SaltDogg PRO series puts the SHPE to shame. If you’re interested in upgrading, we’ve got them in stock, including the conveyor chain fed model. The PRO series has a full length 5.25” diameter auger. The differences between SHPE & PRO are a lot more than folks think.
@@DS-TRUCKS yes sir! It’s night and day difference. Auger and spinner motor are much larger, there’s 2 bearings on the auger with grease fittings at the rear (the chain has 3 grease fittings), the chute swings like a door instead of hooking on a hanger, the wiring harness is 6guage wire instead of 8ga, and the controller is made in America. Not the junk China controller. We have guys switching from gas stainless steel because they hated the SHPE, but the PRO has filled that gap. Feel free to reach out if you’d like. I’m not a salesman, my dad owns the business, and I know these spreaders like the back of my hand.
The f-450 is cool because it serves the purpose of pickup truck as well as hardcore work truck. F550 is a better work truck but not a very good pickup truck. I wouldn't want to put my family in an f-550. 🤔 But then again 🤔 maybe I would!
Snow ex is not a better spreader just because of their notorious controller issues as well as the amount of error codes the system can recognize. Your warranty is a 2 year warranty and is voided with this video because you specifically stated you don’t clean it like you should and you won’t. Hope it’s been holding up this season for ya with no issues. Why not take care of it? It takes you an extra 20 minutes every storm. Don’t ever leave salt in any spreader after a storm. Use it all, even if you waste some of the salt. That’s the worst thing you can do for a 5k piece of equipment.
Its all stainless and plastic. No need to worry about getting all the salt out. Just make sure bearing is greased and plugs get dielectirc grease. That 5k investment should pay for itself in 12 hopper fulls. Worst case senario you gotta replace the bearings or auger motor every few years.

Yo what's up DS. I have the same spreader. Never used it yet. This video has me pumped to use it
Cool. Let me know how it goes.
Crazy. Buyers uses all stainless internals. Way better built than that other stuff on the market. Never had issues with their plows or spreaders.

Try adjusting the diverter inside the shoot all the way over.
Same. Was the salt dry or wet?
Where did you get your rubber mat from? Nice set up man!!! Looking at one of these spreaders
Bed mat from Ford

Pro moves a lot more material?

Poor salter always has salt in it... I will use the bearing though 😭
