SMC Actuators MGZ and MGPM Comparison. Problem Solving.

Problem solving with SMC Pneumatic Cylinders. The customer needed a high force, high side load actuator that ALSO had minimal static friction. I compared the 2 cylinders that are both 25mm bore. Using the ITV Proportional regulator I slowly ramped up pressure to see which cylinder began moving at the lower pressure. The MGZ catalog does show slightly lower minimum operating pressure, and this test proves that it moved consistently at a minimal pressure 2psi for the MGZ, vs 4psi for the MGPM.
